The most I'd go with ground vehicles is to have them hover, like actually hover a few inches off the ground. I can't see wheels working well with the game's overall terrain.

Why not? We can run/roll on foot already and get almost everywhere with some skill. It would be nice if they could knock little destroyables and other vehicles out of their way if they are like a big treaded tank though.

I think it was TT explained once. We can't have ground vehicles because of the way we are always perpendicular to the ground. Watch the cars as they come up the top the ramp from westside.

they either, do a wheelstand then land flat AFTER turning the corner

    or drive through the ground.
The hover disks are all R3, that's why they go fast.
they do fly funny, I consider any flying vehicle which keeps trying to fly nose down - flying funny.
I don't about agile but I do know I overshoot easily on mine when trying to move and then skid trying to stop. You need to be able to compensate for the fast acceleration becasue it seems to straight to max speed..

I'd like gears on my Exocet(or something to stop it going around corners sideways) and brakes on the blasted widow.
Nepht(?) hover bikes not, bicycles/motorbikes- as in long rectangular 1 person vehicle as opposed to hover car, which would be square multi person(I wish) vehicles.
railgun is getting cut to 100ft too.
    '
    3. players have an energy bar , yes it may reload by itself with the right stats but you still can't do much if its low or empty.

    6. If you like vehicles, you are also going to present a biased view. Just in the other direction.

    8. people who doesn't use vehicles probably don't know much about tactics or vehicles.... and how did this FACT get worked out?
Me personally, I don't give a s*it about vehicles. You want to use one, go for it. You don't want to, don't.
I've given away about 50 of them from boxes or salvage.
I have a prototype, exocet, snowball, leg shaver, widow, some of which I occasionally use.

I object to the spam flashes, same as I object to millenium flight.
hmm thats about as coherant as you're gonna get from me currently.
some like them, some don't care, some dislike.
The same can be said of the AT's, FF's, costumes(not mentioning anyone in particular cyber "More military costumes NOW")
Regardless of what they put in, change, remove, paint bright purple with green spots and orange stripes.

Someone will complain and someone(in the last case either colour blind or no sense of aesthetics) will love it.
In ALL cases it is up to personal opinion.
    To the OP,
You like the vehicles, you only want people who like vehicles to have a say in what is done to them. That is a VERY biased way of doing it.
Everyone is affected either directly or indirectly unless they never go near anyone with a vehicle.
    WOAH, TL,DR

Also, I saw comparison of prices in AH for lockboxed costumes and vehicles. As popular as the Archer costume set proved to be, its maximum prices weren't as high as vehicles. It isn't in demand high enough.

Keep in mind that demand is only half of the equation for determining market value. Supply is quite important as well.

    i completely agree with OP

theses changes their making to the vehicles are way too drastic and i would assume the only reason they are changing because a certain group of players are complaining about them.. mostly the players who have already reached their pinnacle or who have had bad experiences in pvp against them

and i agree with the later fact

you guys put them into the game.. didn't change them for what? a year? ((really not sure but i heard its been about a year)) and people may have spent money on getting their vehicles.. I.E. opening lockboxes with keys to get salvage to buy vehicles from the drifter

like if this is how cryptic deals with the stuff they put into the game i may have second thoughts on spending anymore money on this game ((probably around 750 dollars from me so far))

in the future don't add anything to the game until you're 100% certain its ready for the masses without a nerf.. thank you!

You actually think the current PTS changers are Nerfs? There are ton of wholesale improvements, plus the addition of a entire second tier. I would argue to please actually try the adjustments before waving the nerf flag.

There were two powers that until the recent Rampage improvements, weren't really on anyone's radar. But when people are ROFLMAO stomping one of the hardest bosses in the game, something really should be done, and it was.

Those two powers are still quite functional, and still capable of doing their job quite well. You just can't spam them mindlessly anymore. That's far from a nerf.

you obvisuously don't know what i am talking about.. i'm not just refering to "those" 2 weapons whatever they are.. and i tried it in the pts.. what they did to vehicles makes them a joke.. they'll be useless in the rampage sky command with slowed down movement from combat

and if they are making the bosses too easy.. well make the bosses harder.. whats wrong with that? or lessen the damage the weapons do.. not make them cruddy by doubling energy costs or lessening range

and seriously.. that slowed down movement from combat has to go.. thats one of the things that ticks me off so much

i can understand if people don't wanna fight vehicles ((just used my akema on caliga and won)) so how bout giving us the option to play bare bone pvp (no devices) and device pvp instead of punishing a group of players who have spent time or money to get these things set up

10 PB2s melting the Harbinger before his first invulnerability while fun was not something I expected to last long.

I didn't even know about the abuses you could do with the 120' IR until just recently and I was surprised they let it go as long as they did. Overpowered is one thing, people should feel someone is being a buzzkill when it gets rebalanced, but gamebreaking is another, and people should expect those to get fixed.

I'm liking the idea that my two zen vehicles will be something more than a flight computer travel power for lowbies.

Also an account only needs one copy of the costume ever (for use). For vehicles you can have just one and pass it around but people get lazy also since blue mods on up cost Q to remove having multiple vehicles for multiple builds on top of the laziness factor means one account has reasons to have multiple vehicles.

My only contention is that a railgun, a mass driver supposed to fire projectiles that break the sound barrier, is going to have shorter range than an arrow shot from a bow

Maybe the arrow is being fired from a Magic Bow by a mutant with Extreme Super Strenght.
And someone finally realized that CO isn't a vehicle based game.

but then a plasma beam weapon, would be setting fire to and melting everything along its path, including other players.

:biggrin:thats what we need to remove, this free 'personal immunity' advantage. If you want immunity to your own powers, you have to pay for it, just like in the PnP game

oh the screams that would create.
so some vehicle weapons are getting better, others worse, some meh.. okay
thankfully we're finishing o/t this weekend, so I may be able to get on PTS myself and check

I'd get behind that if they called it like, Mach Arrow or something and it makes a sonic boom when fired and literally travels so fast it appears as a laser-like streak of light with Matrixy bullet trails :O!

Part of the whole reason railguns are being worked on as a US military project, is whoever puts them on their boats first rules the ocean.

    Range, my friend, range.

Because no one would ever use mines. Or torpedoes.

Hey, how come vehicles don't have decoy flares? That'd be a cool self-defense option.

I just got an Arrowhead Grav bike from a Heartstring lockbox and it is supposed to be Account bound, but how do I transfer it to my other toons? I already tried switching toons to see if it automatically shows up and no go there.

You have to use your hideout's account bank to transfer account bound items.

There is/was an Arc promo code to get a free cave hideout if you don't already have one.

Actually advanced detection technologies may eventually render mines obsolete, and we'll have to see how lasers penetrate the water. Another problem, with mines in general, is that they can cause far more damage to civilians than to military very easily.

You put too much faith in "advanced" technology.

Lasers suck at passing from gas environment to liquid one and vice versa, even more than physical projectiles.
Railguns also suck at range even when compared with modern rocket-accelerated shells, let alone pure rocket artillery. That's because you can't do indirect fire with gauss projector, so its velocity defeats itself. Raw range has no point when enemy sees you and can return fire. They also can't carry explosives, or other warheads. Nor their projectiles can be guided.

Railguns are evaluated mostly because their velocity can be used for intercepting missiles or aircraft. But they aren't exactly material for main weaponry.
That's why they're tested on destroyers and frigates. Good for auxiliary craft, but not for, i.e.: rocket cruisers. And classic gun-carrying battleships are obsolete pretty much since Pearl Harbor.
