But it still gives Rank 1 Mods!!!!
And XP......for those who need it....
And costume pieces have way too big of a chance to drop. Compared to Fire/Ice drops.

The ten loot circles actually makes the drop chance reasonable. I like how the costume unlocks are not so rare. People who want them can play the Rampage a few times and get all three. Not everything has to be for resource farming.
And I am getting R3 and R4 mods mostly, with one box of R1 mods.
I thought I was going to hate it, based on previous experience. But I have to admit I have nothing but love for Sky Command now! If you can get 3 healers and place them strategically (Left, Right, and Deck) keeping all the engines up isn't so hard. Of course you'll need your DPS'rs to keep them safe - because healing engines gets you agro.
I did find that my Gadgets based healer had an easier time of it. Mostly because the Healing Drones seemed to do an excellent job of auto-healing the engines. It's also nice that Protection Field and Bionic Shielding seem to work on the engines.
I had so much fun on this Rampage, that I actually got myself a vehicle from the exchange. And this is from a person who swore he would never have anything to do with vehicles.
The drop rate is crazy if you manage to keep all of the Engines intact. However, considering that's a challenge - I don't have a problem with it.
I can't wait for gravi now, it's gonna be so much more fun now there are more rewards. <:)
But the mission is pretty fun now, the only part which is annoying is when you kill the destroid then you just get a single master villain keep on respawning for 2 minutes. So boring. :<
I think the mega destroid on the mission should give 1 silver champion recognition instead of Vehicle Mod 5 Pack. Anyways, I agree with the post. I could play UNTIL Sky Command all day long as long as there are people queue'd for it.
It's less frustrating to protect that stupid sky carrier now? Cool - I'll have to send someone in with a vehicle. (Or maybe just Happifun - he essentially is a vehicle...)
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
A lot more of us have vehicles now, so it's less frustrating to move around the map.
Glad to see it get some love. I always liked it, despite the Vehicle mod I rewards.
I think the problem was not the lack of vehicles or uber rewards, I think it was because before most people would end up clumping one or two spots, and the end result was large sections of the ship would go unprotected.
I think the problem was not the lack of vehicles or uber rewards, I think it was because before most people would end up clumping one or two spots, and the end result was large sections of the ship would go unprotected.
Certainly it's a factor, but most of the feedback I remember were:
1. The rewards suck.
2. "Is all the content in this game going to be for vehicles from now on? You can't make me like vehicles, no sir, not going to do it! I'm a horse and I ain't drinking from that water!"
I also suspect making it a Rampage did it a world of good. A lot more people are completing it now, and when people learn to spread out and protect the engines, it'll be even easier. And the widow uberweapon helps.
Biggest reason I heard from people not queuing Sky Command was the rewards. It was all very much NOT worth it. Just resources and tons of rank 1 vehicle mods.
Now it's resources and rank 3-4 mods PLUS questionite from being a Rampage. Plus chance at costume parts. Plus chance for token toward Justice gear.
I may be off target here, but it seems to me that if you keep the engines going on just one side you are fine. Is there any need to have groups on both sides?

I think defending the deck might be easier for a melee character (tab+lunge helps). The robots tend to congregate right around the vent. Not so much need for zipping around as with the engines.

More engines remain intact, more reward circles pop up.

There is some weapon control panels on deck. But, don't know if those work at all.
Adding some enemy 'ground forces' also and not the floating ones, would be nice, for everyone who likes to fight melee/ground level and not fly around spamming GravityThingLOL...

You don't "have" to keep them all up, but you get WAY more drops if you do keep them up. Every engine you keep up is a chance to get a token
You can do this with a single healer, don't even need 3 of them (though i suppose you could do it with three, it'd just be boring that way.) Two healers is fine, even one is doable, though that takes coordination with the team and (preferably) a big %-based heal like Palliate.
For two healers, one healer sucks exhaust fumes underneath the carrier while roaming up and down the line of engines, healing any that need it, while the other babysits the vent. For a single healer, they suck exhaust unless one of their teammates calls out that the vent's losing HP, at which point they pop back up to heal it with Palliate and then go back down for more tasty exhaust fumes while making sure nothing sneaks in to kill the engines.
Glorious? No. Exciting? Not with a good team. Effective? You better believe it. I had to have most of a team in Skype with me to swing it, but managed to solo heal it back when it was first introduced, and let me tell you, that was not fun, especially since grav pulse vehicles hadn't been added yet.
To Sum Up: Despite all the hype, none of the rampages are turning out to be the insurmountable challenge that anyone imagined they were going to be, and Cryptic North has yet again made the game more fun.
I'm sure glad I dropped the "negative about everything" act I used to have... cause I'd sure be looking silly now trying to keep that up.
whoever said any of the rampages would be "insurmountable"?
People that freaked out about fire and ice while it was still on PTS and how the "spirit of champs" would disappear with the introduction of a rampage that involved partially the "yee-gods" "oh noes" dreaded trinity system. But then again I'm just paraphrasing

Memory of a goldfish.
You don't remember? I don't remember the name, but there was someone claiming these would turn the game into some sort of elitist trinity thing where people would quit in droves because stuff being too hard isn't fun... do you maybe remember the name of that person?

While we're waxing nostalgic, do you remember how the dodge changes were going to completely ruin the game and everyone was going to quit because it was too hard?

and it has hurt it. I pray we get more content that isn't designed with the trinity in mind.
because fire and ice was done completely wrong in that sense.
Since now you seem to be moving more and more towards just outright refusing to acknowledge information that doesn't support your crusade, to the point that you'll imagine that things are worse than they are, I'm just going to make a fun reference that Skyrim players should find amusing:
And regards to the trinity, there's nothing forced at all as far as it in the game. People who want to heal in Champs now have a chance to be extremely useful in a team setting. People who have builds that make themselves hard to knock over have a shot to really test their muster against Frosty and Blaze. And for the rest of us who are in the extremely varied DPS category (you can dress it up and call it hybrid, but it's still DPS) are able to try out different combinations in a team setting and work together and not have the occasional god complex of being able to survive everything in the game.

Sad. really sad. you people just don't get it. seriously think beyond the deader than dead standard MMO fare.
Smackwell or Kaiserin, keep an eye on this thread, the way people are all jumping on the lets all make fun of gradii bandwagon can't end well.
Just for the record I didn't make fun of you, I just giggled at the picture (being a Skyrim player myself), so let's not be jumping to incorrect conclusions.
And I DO get it, trinity is in every MMO for a reason, Champions allows for more fluidity between the three with the freeforms. No one is forced to play something that they don't. If you don't want to be the person healing or keeping others buffed or alive, then no one said you HAVE to be that build. If you don't want to be the guy that can keep bad guy's attentions, then don't make that kind of build. If you prefer ranged attacks over melee or vice versa, then make your build that way.
The best part about the fluidity of the roles and builds is that you have the CHOICE to play the type of build you'd like, and then you can team up with others to balance to succeed where you may have failed otherwise.

How about instead of stomping your feet and repeating the message of "no no you're wrong, that's wrong, it's all wrong" like a broken record, you give us an example of another method of non-trinity MMO encounter balancing that's longer than "Balance everything for hybrids!". That would be a hell of a lot more constructive than telling everyone they're wrong and you're right all the time.
