Its not about wining arguments its about the discussion of why NW and STO win more awards (win any awards at that :P ) . Facts are NW and STO are newer better games Cryptic have learned from the mistakes they made here.

What other companies do in their older mmos is here the by.

Oh and those that call Smackwell a Cryptic spokesman Ive seen him talk to the devs it normally involves the followings.

    "SHUT UP!"

The "Don't bother, some people just want to hear themselves" talk thing was hilarious though... primarily because of how poorly aimed it was. The fact that it was then followed by absoloutely no contribution to the conversation, as if the person making that comment was making it just to make it... yeah, brilliant.

I never said you were surprised, I ASKED. Or did you not see the 3 question marks in my last post? They look like this "?" for future reference. Learning what punctuation marks mean will be helpful in the future. But since you didnt answer my questions, I'll ask you again: were you surprised? If not, what was the "Good lord" all about? Those are questions, FYI, since they ended with question marks.

The answers to all your questions is no.

I just thought it was cute how you ended up in the exact same situation you wanted to criticize someone else for in the exact same thread :3

Yeah, "exact same"...except for the fact that I asked if you were surprised rather than stating it. Whats cute is how you think different things can be "the exact same". First not understanding punctuation, now not even understanding words. Yeah, thats real cute

    Huh. Whodathunkit?

It honestly doesn't surprise me that CO is nowhere on that list. It's my favourite MMO, but I do think it's a bit dated by today's standards in the same sense that CoH seems pretty dated to me when I looked at it a couple years ago. I am kinda surprised Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is on that list, though. It really didn't seem like it'd be that good.

    1. Oh you've counted all of them? Oh, okay.

It's hard to consider them few when they tend to dominate half of the discussions I see about Cryptic.

    3. The posts you're talking about, I say "I think," not "just wait, you'll see," in a defensive manner. It's called optimism, hopes that my favorite MMO will get better. <insert real clever dictionary comment here> Once again, predictably, you're taking a situation and painting it in the worst light possible.

No, I'm just calling it how it is. Oh, and that year that they have to prove me wrong about this game being developmentally dead is half over.

    ~stuff and things~

I'm just curious... what are you hoping to accomplish by pointing out the game isn't the best it could be, and then being hostile towards anyone who disagrees with you regarding the degree to which it isn't the best it could be? What's the end game of this conversation?

Or is this just like wow's raid content, where you just run it over and over again with no actual end goal.

Not necessarily. Some of us are just curious as to what exactly the aim of your apparent anger is.

Remember, anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Suffering leads to the Dark Side. The Dark Side has cookies. However, this does not necessarily mean that getting angry will get you cookies, because the Dark Side doesn't share.

Some people were just as unhappy before it was killed as they are now.

Could CO use more content? Yes.
Could CO use more dev attention? Yes.
Is CO getting more than it had been while everything was going to NW? Yes.
Does CO need doom, doom, and more doom in every thread. Left as an exercise to the reader.

But Sister... what else will I read while eating popcorn?? ;)

But in all honesty I have to agree, I think at this point it's easier to agree to disagree, cause we are all still playing the game to some degree or another, and if you aren't... then why continue to argue over something you don't spend time playing anymore?

By "right now" you're referring to the last seven years, right?

Everyone is just cranky because the devs stopped posting updates over the holidays. It made all their "the devs don't care about us" feelings relapse.

Because I should be totally content with Cryptic half-assing things? Some of us are not so easily contented by rusty toys that could use polish as you are, Jon. CO could be great, it could have been on that list, but instead they just let it languish, gathering dust and cobwebs.

However I never picked a side so I can't agree to disagree on anything. I was merely stating it from an observers PoV to the argument. I DID say in simpler terms that if you are still playing then game then you like it on some level, and if you're not playing anymore then you don't need to argue how good or bad the game is anymore because supposedly you have moved on. (and those yous aren't to you specifically spinny)

You know, kojiro, there are vast gulfs of attitude between the poles of "contented" and "enraged". Perhaps it's time to explore some of these gradations of feeling.

Or you could just keep sitting there and spitting vitriol, whatever trips your circuit breakers I guess...

After glancing over most of this thread, I'd kind of just like you to stop insulting the rest of the community. You remind me of a certain someone that wound up going crazy because they took this stuff too seriously and shut themselves away from everyone else.

Also, it's just not good to look at things so negatively and crudely. At least not to the degree you are doing it to, in my opinion.

I didn't know you'd complained in the first place.

Also I didn't know that posting my opinions were "fanning the flames" but okay, here we go.

Let me make something clear. I will tend to close threads that take on a "doom and gloom" air because it's not good for the game, especially when they're baseless. I don't know of any moderator that would foster trolling, flamebait posts against the game.

This thread started off as a fair discussion on the state of the game. Your input turned it from a discussion to an argument. You used hyperbole and and tactless accusations to point fingers at Cryptic. People trying to have a normal discussion have been derailed by your silly arguments. In a nutshell you've brought nothing to the discussion and have just wrecked it. So, discussion closed.

Devtracker, feel free to open the discussion again.

Kojiro, I'll do you one better and report the thread myself.

Now, this thread is closed. In the future I may close threads and edit posts a bit more judiciously if they're clearly just doing nothing more than baseless Cryptic-bashing.
This discussion has been closed.
