Overseer: Overseer Aura (3/3)
Overseer: Trapped (3/3)
Overseer: Enhanced Gear (2/3)
Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

This is the current version of one of the builds I use the most. I use it because it is fast, enjoyable to play and racks in a lot of actual kills rather than just tagging. I made a guide over 6 months ago for the state of the build when I was currently using it. A lot has changed though and this version is much more refined.

You can find that guide here: http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=222631

Basically the combo is: [ ego sleep - entangling web - ego surge - strafing run - nanobot - repeat ] Entangling web applies trapped which is the spec you get from the overseer tree, this spec increases the damage the target takes by 9% and I've found this increases SR's damage by much more than if I use warden to make offence much higher.

(note I can't upload images on the hero games section so you'll have to go to the links)

Level 32: Rising Knee (Flowing Strikes)
Level 35: Ascension (Rank 2)
Level 38: Masterful Dodge (Unfettered Strikes)

Travel Powers:
Level 6: Acrobatics (Rank 2, Rank 3, Versatility)
Level 35: Teleportation (Rank 2, Rank 3)

Specializations:
Intelligence: Tactician (2/2)
Intelligence: Battle of Wits (3/3)

Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)

Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
Warden: Elusive (2/2)
Warden: Tenacious (2/2)
Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
Mastery: Vindicator Mastery (1/1)

A build idea I had which is actually fairly similar to the SR build other than it uses demolish and rising knee to decrease the targets resistance as well as knocking them down. This creates a stun lock when used in rotation with ego sleep.

The combo is: [ entangling web - ego sleep - ego surge - charged demolish - rising knee - charged demolish for the duration of knock down - rising knee or ego sleep - demolish - rising knee or ego sleep - demolish ] This combo is fairly long and you may see how the stun lock is working, you want to check you keep resistances down before initiating the combo. You use entangling web usually to take off the other plays travel power to bring them to the ground and hold them still. If you want to kill the target faster and have the devices available you can use Centre of gravity --> NPG --> Omicron right after using a rising knee to hit a massive burst.

By using INT primary you both increase hold strength and gain armour penetration which takes from whatever the targets defense value is, then by using demolish and rising knee with advantages you take off an additional amount of defense. On some people demo and rising knee can even take them into minus resistances if your INT primary has taken them low enough. A uranium core can help a lot as it works on the same layer as the INT primary spec.

I often wonder if it's not threads like these that actually created the "everybody uses the same build" problem. Wouldn't that be ironic if it's actually the people giving "helpful build advice" who pretty much created the situation we find ourselves in now. Yeah, those few powers are "must haves"... but would they be must haves if everyone else wasn't using them already?

Imagine this scenario... you join BASH, and nobody is using the must haves... do you need them now? How about if only one person is using them? Two people? At which point do we cross over into "everybody needs to have them because everybody is using them"?

Now imagine this, you're a new player, you try pvp... you get ur butt kicked. You go to someone for advice... they say "Use these powers", so you do... hey it works! Do you have any motivation to do anything but "Use these powers" from now on? Necessity is the mother of invention, and in a way "Use these powers" is removing necessity from the equation.

Is there a different way to play? Are we really just keeping ourselves locked in this paradigm by doing the same thing over and over and each time convincing ourselves that we can't do anything else?

It'd be a shame if one day they actually did manage to balance the game out... but none of us ever got the message because we were so locked in our "Use these powers" mentality.

Hey wait, wasn't this supposed to be a build thread? wtf IMP, way to derail it u_u

Some people just want to bury their opponents whatever the means, it's a sort of normal reaction at the beginning of the experience. Besides, 70% of build related threads (especially these days) is just about bragging really. If people are really interested on the stuff you do in the fields they're going to look for you, and ask you.

Hey, even you use MD on every build. Too be honest in PvP until they nerf cooldown, due to what happened to dodge MD is the only true 'must have' power and IMO the most OP power in the game. As I said even you use it on all your theme builds, I'm currently using it also on my theme builds. The funny thing about MD is the only way it could not be in theme is if you are like super man or like hulk, super man is likely to just take the hits and the hulk just wouldn't bother dodging. On the other hand Batman is likely to at times try dodging everything someone throws at him, even iron man will dodge a lot. Too be honest I can't even remember what I wrote in this thread, it's pretty old. :) I just wanted to show what I was using on both my characters at the time.

Also when me and neiuso help people we don't tell them to use certain powers but instead give idea's of fun things that could fit their theme. It's awkward when they don't have a theme and they just ask for a build to beat people with. -_-

    Mmmhmm yeahhh.

Plus I don't exactly think these builds are in anyway builds made to bury your opponent whatever it takes, I attempted alternatives in them to what you would usually see in any other build. In fact name one PvP'er other than me who ever uses overseer. -_-

But really I don't see how this is bragging, plus with that link to your guide under what you said it seemed almost as ironic as lucidity's name.

If I really was going to brag I would upload video's of me beating someone with it...

Oh and both of you haven't really PvP'd in ages, come PvP some time. Imp's have feelings you know.

Actually I dropped it on my power armor because it's actually quite useless on her. I activate MD, and then I die because even if I'm reducing all incoming damage by 50%, that just means I die half as fast, and whats 1 second times 2? xD

As it turns out, MD only works well when placed on top of an already survival-focused build, so it's only a "must have" because everyone is already building survival-heavy.
The funny thing about MD is the only way it could not be in theme is if you are like super man or like hulk, super man is likely to just take the hits and the hulk just wouldn't bother dodging. Who said anything about theme? u3u I'm talking game mechanics, not theme.

I'm not sure how there even is a question of theme regarding MD... after all, it has no graphic whatsoever; the only indication that it's even active is that there's a little buff icon under the person's portrait, and they take less damage. The power could literally fit any theme... even if the theme was "A character who can barely move because they are a big chunk of lead", since there is no actual dodging involved.

    Theme is irrelevant.
Also when me and neiuso help people we don't tell them to use certain powers but instead give idea's of fun things that could fit their theme. It's awkward when they don't have a theme and they just ask for a build to beat people with. -_-

Steroid use is rampant in the hero games. Steroid use makes sports boring u3u CoPvP is the chief supplier of steroids... even if you refuse to hand them out, someone else will.

2GM stun lock build (7 second sonic device)

Okay here is a random build I made for someone a week ago. FG isn't needed what so ever it gives a nice knock but hurl / omicron would do it's job nicely enough. Just keep perma manipulator with thunderclap, if you need to then remove their TP to get into 50ft. Then use ego surge / MD to max the damage followed by sonic and 2gm. With 400+ int a crit sev core and uranium core you'll be looking at not only hitting some pretty good DPS but getting through tough gear.

    Taser arrow stun lock build

This build was based of a stretched archery theme build I made. This is a 100ft stun lock taser arrow build using avenger on straight shot to allow taser arrow to hit up to 8k+ which with a super hard hold is actually pretty good, especially for BASH being 100ft. Attack toys are in there for lols, just put a random funny power in there if you want as this slot really isn't needed unless you feel the need for another heal or root.

    Edited "cheesier" SR ice form.

    EM is changed to MD.

Overseer spec changed to warden spec.

    Dex PSS changed to strength.

I know this isn't "new" or "different" to a lot of you, but to some people this shows a much more "min maxed" version of the build. It will hit about an overall of 4.5k less with SR however people wont be able to juggle you so easily and you wont die in one hit to everything.
