SRIV, Far Cry 3, and Borderlands 2 as well as Champions Online and other games seem to all be drawing
from one big database of tropes and lists of ubiquitous objects to place somewhere in the game.

And to answer the original question, I can't say for certain, but I'd be surprised if there weren't a few members of the Latter-Day Saints playing this game...
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
I doubt any New Orleans Saints players are on CO. The Venn diagram of the intersection of "NFL players" and "MMO players" is a razor-thin sliver labeled "Chris Kluwe", and he was a WoW player and a Minnesota Viking. And a punter, so he doesn't count in the first place.
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning, but when your story ends / Gonna last with you longer than your friends
Nice art style at the very least. Just the right amount of anatomical exaggeration for a comic feel, but enough realism to make it feel like takes itself seriously. Why couldn't Champions go that route in its art direction?

I would like Champions a lot less if it was rendered more realistically.

I don't know. Maybe it's just those characters, but their art style looks pretty awful.
I'm not thrilled with this art style like in Saints or DCUO, or Valiance Online (if it will be ever made) used for comic book superheroes.
Comic books aren't realistic, to beging with. Too much realism harms this subject and people in skin tight costumes look silly in realistic art.
Comic book game should have enough correct body proportions to not look like Liefield/Champions Online/DCUO with character designs, but otherwise should be stylised. Ultimate Spiderman, Borderlands, or even Dragon Age 2 have nice stylised graphics.
Thing that killed all my possible future interest with Valiance (again, if it will be ever made, I really doubt) was to seee their character models and that they went this total unneeded realism way. It looks terribadgodawful.
green guys head size and neck width are too big
hers are too small.
torso length on him and her are both off.
females legs look too short
and the way his feet are placed, he slips, its groin injury time
Their proportions are right. Both characters are between 7,5 and 8 head tall, which is correct for modern real life population. And is also totally non-heroic and looks strange with skin-tight costumes.
The rest is that both characters are shown with focus on their waist level and there is no real depth field on this screenshot, so both figures look flat with distorted proportions - on a flat screenshot.
That's not character models, but effect of perspective on this shot.
If you will measure their proportions, female legs are half of her total body length. That's correct. Green man is under very strong perspective effect and it's hard to tell anything about him.
I'm sure that both models are looking much better in actual game.
Still, both look strange in spandex costumes, no matter from which angle.
I think the woman sculpted her hair into a hood ornament from a '38 Plymouth to make up for her fivehead.

They both look over the hill with short stubby legs. And while the male is supporting the six pack I can't help but look at that screenshot and think "People's idea of realistic is, gotta have the love handles"

Why does the Saints Row IV link send me to a CO link? Is that just happening to me?
A general game playing throughout the world. Anyone from 2 - any amount can play. Please take note of local laws as police may not find you silly but stupid.

And either one would probably have been better served by a more dramatic angle.

And I'm sitting there, either waiting for the Volition Comics pack to be debugged or for more military gear.

At least, you don't need gear to dodge in SR: you just need to move out of the way.
