And I gotta say, I'm disappointed in just about all of the PvPer's I know.
Just after I stopped playing for a bit, the SG I'm in (though probably not for much longer) seemed to have butt heads with another SG, and it looks like at least one side is refusing to move on. The situation is so bad I can't even decide which one that is.
Some of my SG mates, people I was already friends with before the SG was made, must have left the SG and joined the opposing side. Now when I walk into Bash I get ganged on sight. I don't mind eventually getting teamed if I'm in the lead, but I'm assuming that due to my SG label I became a KOS. Once again, I wouldn't mind if I was in the lead, but this was at the very beginning of the match. I still managed a respectable score, mind you, but killing them each multiple times over didn't make up for the fact that people who I once considered friends (and people I hardly know) would turn on me so quickly just because of the word under my character's name when I wasn't even around for all of this mess.
I suppose that tells me all I need to know about both sides - one side must have started something they shouldn't have, and one side cannot get rid of a grudge.
This really reminded me why I preferred not being affiliated with a Supergroup. I went the longest time for going SG-less, but I finally gave in after being pestered by so many different people. I most definitely regret it - I gave it one more shot and I won't give it another.
/rant over. I'll still be PvP'ing, only I'll remain a nobody like I should be. Getting involved in this mess is not worth it.

You are making a huge mistake here. It's not SGs at fault it's people. You probably joined one of the more (in)famous PvP SGs and that was your mistake. I've never been farmed for being in a SG because none of the SGs I've been/am in are insane. Harsh words you might think but that's the reality of things. Not too long ago there was this forum declaration of 'war' of all things.
No offense but there are people who PvP and then there are the crazy's who PvP. As it happens in RL it takes only a few to do a lot of damage and spread the crazy.
If you are not one of the crazy's then just join a normal SG. How nuts people have to be to declare WAR in a video game? I can't imagine how empty their real lives are to have to compensate in a game for their inferiority complexes.
Anyhow just move one to another SG, don't get caught in the middle of some crazy war. Your time should be more valuable than to waste it on some ridiculous feud between 2 groups in a video game  (or not? your decision in the end)
I know that the problem lies within the individuals of a Supergroup and not the SG itself, but the nature of the SG really comes out when every person you see in that SG targets you on sight when you didn't do anything to them.
When I first joined this Supergroup, there was no conflict. I wasn't expecting for there to be conflict but of course I was wrong.
And it doesn't matter which SG I join, someone always makes a false assumption of me because of it. They do not always attempt to team me in Bash for example, but they can do something as simple as refusing to talk to me because "everyone in that SG is rude and elitist."
I know it's not possible to live in a perfect world where everyone likes you, but I'd like to get as close to that as possible.
And in reply to your last statement, why do you think I stated I will once again be SG-less to avoid this stuff?
Well you were fairly unlucky with this. It just so happened that today (or yesterday depending on time zone) xeno decided that he would come on for about one hour. Without about 10 minutes of coming on he noticed that we had renamed ourselves 'team callitrix' and immediately 'started war' on anyone with the tag. Apparently there is more RP in PvP than you would think, after this he sent out mail to his entire SG telling them to do the same. I don't know if you know AE but most of them will do as told by Xeno for some reason despite most of them being really nice people.
You went away just before, or around the time that Xeno came to the game. Basically while you were gone they had already started war with us once. They tried to chat ban us, called one of our members a pedo until he quit the SG and PvP, and they basically played as dirty as they could until our members left. It basically left the SG with only 3-4 active memebers left and we had to change the name and that put up some stupid thread because that apparently 'made it official.'
RP PvP 'war' is not good, no idea who it was who ganked you from AE. Too bad none of us were on to talk sense into them and just have a fun BASH. I feel people should play the game how they want to play the game, I don't really understand though why people would listen to someone and attack someone they don't like just because their friend told them to. I wouldn't, I would always like to know the person and have a clear cut reason why I am attacking them. I suppose that's just me though.
It's good you are back though, we need more variety in PvP.
AE does that because that's what they have put as their objective. Some people just wanna have a good fun time... then there's AE, who want to crush people. They live for that moment when they can actually force someone to give up, leave a SG, join them, or quit the game altogether. I'd love to tell you that they're somehow unique in the world of player vs player interactions in video games, but they're really not.
What is unique on the other hand is BASH... which is basically a playground built for folks like Xeno and his gang of thugs. Most MMOs don't have Free-for-all pvp. We do a pretty good job around her of illustrating why that is :P
If we're lucky, Cryptic N will make it so we have team pvp again. Fighting a team of players is a lot more fun when you have a team too.
seriously, i had to go for the others too...ridiculous.
And Purin, don't worry, those people only come to destroy the PvP community for a week or two and then leave. Then they wonder why Gentlemen Crush them, or why PvP is dead. Don't worry about those, they'll leave when they know they can't win.
I'm part of the both SG's and I reaally don't want to have anything to do with this war stuff, I might aswell stay out of bash till this thing blows over. I don't wanna choose sides, that's the decision I will regret if I do that. I hope people understand that. I'm sure you don't need ME to beat up people.
IF you guys think that I am NOT BEING LOYAL to your SG then so be it. I've always tried to be the neutral one around here.
I only go after certain person in numbers and I don't need to mention its name.
And I gotta say, I'm disappointed in just about all of the PvPer's I know.
I'm disappointed that you're beating a dead horse, but also lumping in all the pvpers you know.
I'm not sure who you are, and I'll just assume you aren't including me in your "disappointment".
Me specifically, the only reason I can even still bother to play this game in its decline is thanks to my SG mates.
Really, unless you're trying to rock DC or Spear of Triam, you shouldn't have anything to worry about because the drama there goes back to the release of On-Alert and before.
As I take it this is a "Caliitrix" related issue...
If you guys fall apart at the first sign of a challenge, you can't blame anyone else.
I run around unrestricted primarily as an AT, and ALL the regulars know my signature character. While I've made all the possible adjustments I could, she's still significantly weaker than any properly built pvp FF. Yet I don't get farmed into oblivion even though I'm a far easier target than the typical competition.
Now mind you, that wasn't always the case. When I first started, I had pvp experience in other games and I thought that gave me an edge. I was quickly ripped apart on my lil inferno and relentlessly at that.
But, the more beatings I took, the more I learned and adapted. I even developed a connection with a lot of the regulars at the time.
Ultimately, I had to earn a bit of respect in the school of hard knocks so to speak.
As far as Callitrix goes, if you want to claim yourself a pvp sg, someone's bound to challenge it, which usually ends up being AE. If your group starts throwing in the towel after just a few uneven fights, you had no right to claim yourself a "pvp" sg because that comes with the territory.
The last time I took my Charlize out, it was 3 versus me. I was in the lead, so it was only fair that everyone was after me. Ultimately, the match ended in a draw with me 7-0, and while I could have eaten a death to extend the timer, part of the challenge was trying to eliminate a player while taking all 3 at the same time. In fact, there were points where just surviving was exciting.
Now, don't get me wrong, not everyone will "play nice". But if you're feeling you just won't be given a fighting chance, there's nothing to stop you from just leaving the map. When sgmates refuse to fight each other, and its all of them versus you, you can regulate that by taking yourself out of the situation. Either they fight each other or they all leave getting no credit.
On the other hand, I still recall watching a lone DC taking on 3 AE. He wasn't one of the members that even gave DC its rep (most of them made my ignore list), but even though he was never given a fair fight, he still kept at it till the match ended. The only reason he was being attacked with reckless abandon was the sg tag. But even still, he proved himself a true pvper regardless off the odds or association.
To summarize, to make it in broken and unbalanced COpvp, you need to be able to cope with unfair situations. Sure, you can quit whatever SG, but ask yourself why did you join in the first place?
I'd have to check my old mail to remember when I joined Spectre, and I haven't looked back. But, before I applied, I already knew why.
I perceived them to be a pvp oriented SG, but aside from being skilled they were also fun and laid back. My previous SG had a leader that spent the majority of his time developing his wealth, and even random loot dropped by whatever event he would host he would try to take instead of letting it go to his sg members. I can't think of anyone in this game who bragged more about their wealth than that SG leader, and I've come to know far wealthier people since.
If you want to rep a new group, do it with pride, and don't back down. If you don't like the target on your back and didn't realize what you were signing up for, ok well now you know, and no one is really going to blame you whatever you decide.
Keep in mind though, one can become a target on factors that have nothing to do with their SG (or lack of one).
I said "just about every PvPer I know," and by that I mean those that I actually had full conversations with and interacted with on a daily basis. If you're just someone I happen to see in Bash a lot or randomly dueled then my comment was not directed at you. Though I did indeed lose a lot of respect long ago for the community as a whole once I saw the builds and devices being used in PvP, that can be discussed elsewhere. I became disappointed with those I know for more specific reasons, and it they all caused it in different ways at one point in time. Whether it was something they said, did to another player, or anything else, an overwhelming majority of those I know have surprised me.
I am not lumping everyone I know in one category, I know that not everyone will spawn kill. Not everyone will team up on someone. Not everyone would single someone out. Not everyone would say hateful things about others, but a lot of people I've known have slowly drifted into those directions. Of course not everyone has, but enough for me to outwardly complain about it in this thread.
The whole reason I still PvP is for the challenge - I am one of the few melees left and I find that entertaining. I did not expect to be part of a SG war however. I never had any intentions of doing so; I just want to PvP. Since Bash is the most popular PvP mode, I join it in spite of its cutthroat nature. I do not get farmed, though I am sure a select few could if they really wanted to, even though I tend to get teamed a bit too much in my opinion. I don't even mind getting teamed if it's because everyone thinks I'm an easy kill, I'll just try to prove them wrong. But if I'm getting teamed because of the SG I'm in, then I have a problem with it.
I still have nothing against any specific SG, I just most definitely will remain unaffiliated from now on.

Because making a post to try and stir things up is a good idea? All our guys like you, and you left as soon as you logged on. It didn't really make any sense. We were just like "err, what ok. Bye."
I apologize if you viewed that post as trying to stir things up. I felt like I needed to voice my opinion, so I did. Though I realize that it probably wasn't a good idea considering this forum is mainly arguing about tye ethics of PvP, be it serious or joking.
I've got nothing against the Supergroup, but I'm staying true to the fact I've got problems with supergroups and the way they handle situations in PvP. Whether a SG I'm in is at fault or not, I'd much prefer to be uninvolved.
Sure, I'm game for a "let's say a bunch of random crazy stuff" thread.
Hey you guys today my dog logged into the game for me and that was actually my dog playing! Yeah I know what you're thinking I'm trying to make excuses for playing badly, but she actually plays the game better than me! And she's a dog! woof woof!
First off Lucidity X, Dolly v2.0, whoever you're deciding to be at the moment. You have no grounds to talk. Last few BASHs it's been you and Xeno ganging up on me, because especially you have zero chance of beating anyone that is not ungeared. You lunge, maybe get a bleed or two if you're lucky, and run when your face starts getting blown up in retaliation. Just do yourself a favor and be quiet.
Now that being said,
I would like to note an irony of this and the thread of asking for pvp to be revived. It seems that the same people that cry to Cryptic north to revive pvp are the same people that spawn camp, gang up, downgrade, insult, and generally act like absolute jerks and sore winners. I mean does it strike absolute fear in your hearts that 'omg I might actually lose?!'. Well, you are already losing because while you're the ones that may keep the pvp queues even going. You're also the ones, and you know who you are, that are ensuring it stays a hair's breath from being shut down completely.
For example, I learned yesterday that one of the pvp'ers was running around spawn camping a lvl 32, a lvl 32, seriously. Couldn't even give the guy a chance who was probably checking out a new aspect of the game and that's his or her first experience. I doubt they'll ever pvp again, or maybe even bother playing CO again.
For some that are wishing to revive pvp, I think the first thing you all need to do is check your own suck *** attitudes and pettiness.

Don't put all PvP'ers into the same basket, sometimes PvP'ers may be actings strange for a certain reason. I've taken my pure dps level 32 into BASH a few times and yes, certain players choose to spawn kill. I personally am strongly against things such as spawn killing and would never do it myself, I even let people like lucidity get their buffs on and start moving before chasing if that is my target. My problem is that I actually need a target for my build to really work, I will almost always go for the top player in the BASH though.
I'm very sorry to anyone that walks into PvP to be unlucky enough to have the few people who would do such things, but you have to remember that atleast 85% of people that PvP are really nice people. The person that did this thread is a great example, purin is a really great guy and fights with true PvP honour.

To give a nice fresh example.
Just the other day we got UTC to pop. Yay right? No, it was really one sided right off the bat and most of my team either got bug-kicked or quit out of frustration, so it was just me and... um... Amyjia... I dont remember the exact name but Im sure you all know who im talking about.
So I said "whatever, most of my team is gone, im gonna come out so we can end this" with the intent to just stand there and let the other team kill me. All but one of them actually refused to do it... even though I volunteered for it, and actually demanded it, they said it was too much like ganking so they refused.
There was one person on their team who kept attacking me, but they had a really weak build or something because they could barely even kill me even with me just standing there. It actually took quite a bit of arm twisting to get them to take kills from me, and they really didn't do much of anything until some more people joined my side (I think some people from their side left the match and rejoined to switch sides).
So, out of 7 people, there was only 1 jerk.. and they were completely ineffective. That's pretty good odds.

They probably didn't leave, they were most likely kicked and sometimes if you rejoin it puts you on the other team and allows you to stay for some reason. Lol
Usually if the teams are unbalanced though some of us have to sit out until the teams seem fair.
We were getting a lot of the other hero games popping a few weeks ago, no idea what happened there. Oh wait yes I do, damn bloodmoon and people raging about dodge!

Oh Purin is one of my friends I wasn't lumping all pvp'ers into this. It's the unfortunate loud minority that ruins the fun for all of us sadly.
Win or lose I'm all for a good match. It's the attitudes and pettiness of some that is really ruining it for many.
ZA pops pretty often. Just check the Hero Games Queue periodically. If the population in the queue is greater than 0 and you queue up yourself, it will most likely pop quite soon.

Also if you are subscribed to coPvP if you say something in there usually you can get things to pop.
I know you can do it with an energy builder, how does it work with force shield?
I was in the BASH match with Xenomorph Drone, Luci and a few others and I was just blocking, I don't really know how that managed to kill people but meh, at the end of the fight it said I had five kills and 0 deaths...so lol.
Whilst this is true...not sure how it links to the quoted bit of text...
Besides, I honestly believe (because this is likely true) that they all let me live and just used me as a test dummy
PRIMUS Spark Shield is not currently part of my device tray on FG.
haha, well if you aren't at all squishy, no one has really seen you before in BASH and you haven't any enemies in there then it is usually very unlikely anyone is going to bother attacking you. This is even more the case when you don't hit much damage or cause any debuffs too.
Just if you are super squishy expect the usual suspects coming after you.
by using psi lash. btw, how'd you get them both in at once?
Funnily enough, for some reason I decided to "go for it" and actually tried and managed to do pretty well on the toons I hoped into BASH with, namely Mentella, ForceGirl, BioWasp, Psion The Psinister and Cindy Lovecrit.
I went on my chars separately but joined a number of matches, I managed to win two BASH matches with Psion, one with Mentella and came either 2nd - 5th on my other toons.
I didn't even use Psi Lash.
I won mainly cause no one even realized I existed, in my final match, people must have noticed me, cause I got farmed by a one shotter.
I also found out that Explosive Arrow with WTK advantage is a great way to track invisible foes.

Because making a post to try and stir things up is a good idea? All our guys like you, and you left as soon as you logged on. It didn't really make any sense. We were just like "err, what ok. Bye."
I've got nothing against the Supergroup, but I'm staying true to the fact I've got problems with supergroups and the way they handle situations in PvP. Whether a SG I'm in is at fault or not, I'd much prefer to be uninvolved.

Hey you guys today my dog logged into the game for me and that was actually my dog playing! Yeah I know what you're thinking I'm trying to make excuses for playing badly, but she actually plays the game better than me! And she's a dog! woof woof!

My super cool CC build and how to use it.

Is it to become a leader of AE and threaten to gank the person who spawn camp you?
I suppose that is more of an inside joke for PvP so you may not understand what I meant by that. ;D

I was in the BASH match with Xenomorph Drone, Luci and a few others and I was just blocking, I don't really know how that managed to kill people but meh, at the end of the fight it said I had five kills and 0 deaths...so lol.

haha, well if you aren't at all squishy, no one has really seen you before in BASH and you haven't any enemies in there then it is usually very unlikely anyone is going to bother attacking you. This is even more the case when you don't hit much damage or cause any debuffs too.
Just if you are super squishy expect the usual suspects coming after you.

I really hope its the one with Psion The Psinister.. I didn't have time to get any good screens but it was a hell load of fun.
The final match I was in was with Mentella where I got farmed lmao. (No surprise there, I mean, I had the lowest HP )
Would be fun to watch

You have to do significant damage (from what I understand) or "tag" opponents to get kills, IDK what Mentella/Psion were doing but somehow they won.
I think I wasn't noticed cause it was mainly two sides fighting against each other, I think two SG's were fighting or something.
Still, I'd defo do it again, even if I would just get farmed into the ground lol
