The Primus Database is back!

Well, as some of you no doubt already know, the PDB is back up and running once more.

FYI: You'll have to make a new account.

How to find your Google cached pages:
Google either: Primus Database YourCharacterName
OR
Google: primusdatabase.com/index.php?title=YourCharacterName
OR
Google: primusdatabase.com/index.php?title=YourCharacterName&action=edit

Replace YourCharacterName with whoever you're looking for (obviously), click the down arrow after the link, then select Cached. The very last Google suggestion has the bonus of being the actual source material that the PDB is looking for (so you can easily paste it in). That's also the least likely to be current (or even available).

Also, with Doc stepping away from the PDB (for now), and u4dandy not playing CO anymore (but thank you for being an awesome host all these years), I'm apparently the 'boss' if you will of the PDB. I, along with a good friend who has nothing to do with CO, figured out hosting and everything else. I'm glad that my friend is so knowledgeable in sites and such, as I don't know the slightest about all of that, as well as any of the technical coding needed to run the site.

I've never made a PDB page - but now that I've got shots of most of my toons, I might have to figure this stuff out.

Pretty easy to do all things considered - there's a tips topic on the upper right, and failing that, take a look at how someone else's page is built. Mediawiki isn't too complicated and is surprisingly powerful once you learn some of the tricks.

Just poke around other pages (feel free to use mine in my sig) to get a feel for the syntax of the coding involved. also check this out for the HTML colors.

I had to re do all my pages but it was worth it.

I still have a long way to go lol..

Mentella, CharmCaster and Techna Ology are the only completed pages..so far

Just wanted to let everyone know that the PDB has been going along swimmingly since it opened back up a few days ago. It feels great to see everyone posting their characters once more.

When trying to bring up the primus database on a moble device, it is force redirected to the non existant moble site. There is no way to get around this annoyance, as far as I know. It was never an issue before, so I assume there is a mediawiki setting to change that.

Yeah, I noticed that. We were trying to get a better and more operational mobile version of the PDB built instead of just displaying the site itself like in a browser and ran out of time. It'll be flipped one way or the other soon.

It would be easier to just let your style sheets auto resize the pages for different screen sizes. Most of the primus pages aren't going to be made for smaller devices simply because user pages cannot take full advantage of CSS. Unless character pages can use an external style sheet and I just don't know how.

Yeah, there's some things planned for it. For now however, the mobile site is working again. Let me know if something comes up.
