Favorite support powers?

So I'm about to start on a new support build, and I wondered...what buffs, as a DPS/tank/whatever would you prefer to have put on you when you're fighting in-game? I mean yeah, there are heals, and I'll probably take multiple support auras to switch out as people would like...but I'm trying to gear this thing out to be the kind of buffs people want on them. Focusing more on player buffs than NPC debuffs.

Thoughts?

    Best/Favorite Support Aura/Passive?: AoRP (Aura of Radiant Protection + high PRE = Invuln for all)

    Ebon Sigils

    The thing about "player buffs" is that by debuffing NPCs you are indirectly buffing players.

    Bionic Shielding, Iniquity, Protection Field, Mindful Reinforcement. are examples of Player Buffs.

    As everything other than support, I can say my favorite things to see on my toon are Aura buffs. Aura of Primal Majesty and Aura of Ebon Destruction are by far my favorite. I also really like Sigils of Radiant Sanctuary. Aside from that, I prefer bubbles like Mindful Reinforcement and Protection Field over heals, only because I usually pack 1-2 heals for myself too, and bubbles just let me do that while not taking any damage. I also like seeing Inertial Dampening Field up on my toon from Support toons.

    For Spec Trees, you can't even come close to comparison to Sentinel Aura.

    The reason I like those is because I can "see" them active. If a toon can heal me, I don't necessarily "know" that up front, so I'm still unsure about that type of Support toon...however, once I see bubbles and auras up, I know I am in the safe zone and fully covered to unleash the arsenal.

    Don't be like the Qularr. They would not last one round in the Interstellar Galactic Arena...

    My favorite support powers which I use on my support character...

    Protection Field: One of the few ways to increase survivability of squishies. Almost a necessity if using AoED or AoPM. Mindful Reinforcement is another viable alternative bubble. I don't recommend using both unless using AoPM or your build has extreme energy efficiency.

    Aura of Ebon Destruction: Help kill things faster because dead mobs don't hit back! Synergizes wonderfully with pets and groups due to ebon lightning procs.

    Thunderclap w/ control specs: Properly specced it's not difficult to get 9+ second AoE stuns along with 10% resist reduction *and* proc Sentinel Mastery so everyone hitting the affected mobs heals up to 2% of their max hp per second per mob. TK Maelstrom allows for an even larger radius without sacrificing stun duration/damage but has a longer cooldown and does not proc Manipulator.

    Iniquity: I hardly use Iniquity anymore, but having a quick 100 foot range ~2k heal on tap that doesn't use energy is good to have.

    Ebon Sigils: Massive damage debuffing which really shines against trash mobs in lairs. Due to debuff caps and PRE scaling more than one sigil affecting a SV+ mob is usually not necessary. The faster summoning spec in the Commander tree allows for faster sigil summons.

    My main is a hybrid support/ranged DPS toon and I LOVE the combination of AoRP, Protection Field and Inertial Dampening Field. My teammates take next to no damage so I don't even have to bother with heals (although I do have one for emergencies).

    Maybe Redirect Force to provide bubble protection for an entire group? I'm working on a character with that, IDF and AoRP.

    For me it's weird. As a support toon, my favorite aura to provide is radiant protection.

    As a damage dealer or tank toon, my favorite aura to receive is ebon destruction.

    Yeah, I'm conflicted.

    My current favorite DPS/Support setup is AOPM, the usual fire nuking goodies, the channeled Empathy Heal and Mindful Reinforcement, plus Fire Snake/Heat Wave. The jury is out on getting Ebon Sigels or Redemption as my 38, which I may switch back and forth depending on what content I'm doing. I'm surprised nobody mentions Heat Wave and Fire Snake here, as its -elemental resistances are just insane (something like -96% ele res with both stacked). While it only applies to elements, your friends spamming electric attacks will love it and I've seen ALERT bosses melt in seconds. At very least, you're boosting your own fire attack chains by a lot.

    Thanks for the input! Here's what I'm looking at so far:

    Support character

    Looking at making the character extremely flexible, able to switch roles and passives as needed. I implemented the ones that look like faves. Thoughts?

    Elemental damage types are fire, ice and toxic. Electrical is considered energy damage so the debuff from Fire Snake will not help.

    Also, either my browser is being weird or Oddbirdy's link in the above post is not working.

    Well that bites, but still useful for toxic/fire/ice though. For sake of curiosity, what's the best -energy resistance powers in the game if you want to help out your electric friends?

    You'd probably be better off using -all resist instead of typed. R3 Chest Beam and Mini-gun w/ adv work well for techy types. CC specs (paralyzes can get up to 29% -resist to all between PRE, Sentinel and Overseer specs; stuns get 10% resist debuff and 15% dmg debuff from Sentinel and Arbiter spec trees respectively) work with most any theme as CCs are scattered throughout most sets. The new Mental Storm power from Telepathy is probably best for this as it works on tap as a DoT/debuff even if the hold doesn't function without charging. Ego Placate has an adv for -10% resist all but I wouldn't recommend it since the base power is mediocre at best.

    I'm sure there are others but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

    Ego Placate unlike most other debuffs can in actual fact remove a real 10% of the resistance to damage from any target using Svengali's guile advantage.

    As for supporting electric allies...they should ideally have access to Negative Ions, which is their own mini debuff, I suppose if you really wanted in addition to what falchion said, you could take a power like...

    - Thunderstrike

    OR

    - Ball Lightning

    to apply negative ions.

    There's Invocation of Storm Calling, which provides a 17%+ (depending on rank) energy debuff. However, it's very short in duration after you stop maintaining the power (5 seconds I believe).

    Fire Snake is my favorite support power...No, it is my favorite power EVER.

    Ah...the sweet memories of spending hours upon hours of chasing around NPCs who pushed me away from the tailor..Sweet sweet vengeance..The only other power that has come close to that sort of enjoyment is swinging but it falls short of what fire snake did for me..

    Healer: Radiant because it has resurection;
    Tank: Glacier/Invincible/Master;
    Hybrid: Savage/Void;
    DPS: Marksman (it has high crits and high dogdge)/Unleashed;
