Great, GREAT. Now I'm never gonna be able to do a Two Minute Drill without imaging Cosby talking.

Especially in the Fighting City Hall alert-mission. He jokes about leaving for Peoria, but all I keep hearing is him asking for some delicious Jello Pudding.

Beta may have been out before he was in office, but official CO launch was in Sept. 2009, approximately 9 months after his inauguration.

In the original PnP, Darren didn't intend him as an Obama tribute: the malapropisms that he was given were more likely inspired by Bush's verbal gaffes. However, CO's initial writer, Layman, never saw a reference that was too cute for him to use, so undoubtedly the CO version is influenced by the current president.

America copies it's presidents from the media. Reagan resembles a famous movie star. Bush is lookalike of previous president. 4 presidents were picked because theres a rock formation that has face resemblance of their faces. Lincoln is a vampire hunter lookalike.

Hey, and in Neverwinter the big bad is like a female version of Necrull, or Mumm-Ra. That would by default make her, She-Ra.

And as we all know She-Ra is a master of the universe...So, if we crack the code and follow it to its only possible conclusion.

Cryptic is trying to master the universe!

I can assure you that, at least in the PnP version of Necrull, there's no intent to be a tribute to Mumm-Ra. Neither Steve Sloane (who developed the basic concept) or I (who originated it) are Thundercats fans. We're just drawing from the same pulp sources as the creators of that series: Necrull's a pulp sorcerer-scientist, originally from Egypt, transposed into the modern era, obsessed with immortality, which he tries to obtain through a combination of dark science and Anubis magic. The dessicated undead sorcerer predates Mumm-Ra as a bad guy concept by quite a few years.

Necrull's CO art isn't too far from the original PnP art, where he's described as wearing a blood-soaked, hooded robe. So I'd chalk this one to a coincidence.

So you're using the Simpsons defense, eh? I suppose it could be just a coincidence, but I just couldn't help think "Mumm-Ra" when I first saw the guy.

The bio you gave doesn't help much either.

I always thought that since MC was a rebuilt Detroit Biselle was patterned a bit off a younger version of Dave Bing, former NBA player who became the mayor of Detroit about the time CO was released.

    I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Also a fun fact -- the day of Detroit's destruction is Darren's wife's birthday. :)
