Greetings, Champions - get ready for a mission-reward travel power in our 4th of July event!
This event begins on July 3, at 5:30 PM Pacific. You can find Liberty Guard near Defender in Ren Center, with two special missions available from July 3rd through July 8th. You'll need to triumph in the Red Winter special alert, and avert a nuclear apocalypse. Complete one of his missions to earn the Indy Kid sidekick, and complete the other for the event-exclusive Flag Speed travel power!

Not getting disconnected! Can't seem to log in more than 30 seconds sometimes.
Hope this gets cleared up soon so I can get that flag speed travel power.
Please tell me there are no lockboxes involved.

When you receive one of these TP unlocks they go into your inventory first then become unlocked and disappear. When you purchase a recog travel power you may see a message seeing that the item was purchased and then automatically the item is used, and your travel power becomes unlocked. Sometimes though they won't disappear. And worse off, they cannot be discarded or even moved around in the inventory.
I feel sorry for anyone who may encounter this problem while their first bag is full and it goes into the overflow bag. They may encounter the problem of never being able to open it ever again.
Participate at your own risk. Make sure your first bag has some space. Try not to suffer lag while collecting on the reward?
Like last year, it's rewarded for completing the quest, like doing the Questionite dailies and such.

I got it last year. It's a nice travel power. I used it for my Thanksgiving Turkey character last Turkey Day.

Well, more than just 'like' the Questionite Dailies. The Flag Speed power is linked with the Red Winter Custom Alert that circulates with the other Custom Alerts (ie. Green Dragon, Hi Pan, Warlord, etc.)
So, you just complete the Red Winter Daily, and you get a Travel Power for no extra work!
Also, Fudgemonsta... I couldn't help but notice that your Avatar is a Spore Creature, probably from the Early Evolutionary era. I an quite a Sporeologist, myself. Represent!

Ahem, If they were to release Telepathy in its current state.. yall better be ready for an influx of mentalists doing more DPS with Psi Lash than the current DoT powers lol.
Yeah, so I'm hoping on them working on these powers more, I've been waiting 9 months so far, 9 months without being able to play my main..meh, I'd rather wait a bit longer for them to get it right than to play as a superhero version of a PSI Initiate.
On a lighter note, I am very curious as to what they could be releasing...I'll have to check their minds later

I know its too close to likely add something now but could we get a Flag Flight in the near-ish future?
Flag Speed is basically Lightspeed with a different textured trail.
Heroic Flight uses a similar trail effect so it seems like it could be used as a base.
Unrelated, but I have been trying to make that suggestion in the blog post and each time I click the submit the comment it tells me I have to write one, regardless of how much I have typed in the box.

One year i have this thing stuck in one of my bags.
One could argue that's the tradition of it in the first place.
Heh -- entertaining though this post is, the Telepathy update isn't ready for prime time just yet. Soon, I think, but not tomorrow.

I do think that there should be some sort of incentive to encourage people to do it again once they have Flag Speed for themselves in order to help other people get it as well, though. A holiday event should give you a reason to do it again and again in order to maximize the use of the content, IMO.
Maybe next year Flag Flight could be an option as well.. or a Fourth of July themed costume piece such as a cape or chest piece, perhaps.
Or an Uncle Sam hat. :biggrin:

Think I exited tutorial with him in my Dr. Pepper can colored Pepper toon.
Come on Cryptic develop a corporate tool costume with logos all over it, sell ad space on my ab space.
Second flag speed is still undiscardable meaning we can't redo the mission if we have completed it one time unless you want full bags of undiscardable crap speed.
You know, this bug has been reported last year, and some tried to warn you this week BEFORE the beginning of event and surprise ! The bug is still here.
So much easier to do nothing.
