Thanks!
I believe your inspiration came more from Tolstoy than me, but thanks for reading.
I also look forward to seeing your new toon in this thread soon.
Bold Eagle is an amazing costume, liking your work
For my part, thought i'd post Doc. Britain, formerly British Hero. It's a kind of journey through the ages with his costumes, first is a pulp era costume, then a retro theme, and just recently a silver age offering. Think he's got one more in him...
Well, perhaps as a reply to the patriotic fervor, I felt compelled to share my new hero who transcends nationalism, who fights for all civilization, who fights for all of us, who fights for the United Nations. I give you, Fulcrum:
A mutant telekinetic with force bolts, force shields and superspeed.
Those are very awesome heroes from china and japan, can I have the costume file for the first two on the bottom left and the guy on the top with the white and red with no mask second to last right maybe?

I also clocked that costume, the Japan #3 costume. It's so simple but just works so well, it's the kind of design that actually gets signed. Nice work on all your themed costumes here Xen0bia.
Epic work, people! Also, what? No Swedish hero yet?!

Haha, easier said than done! My only problem is what to build, though I do have a name for a Swedish heroine - Wasa.
Edit: Nevermind that! Decided to look through this Thread again and made my first attempt. So, behold!
Aero - The First Swedish Hero of World War 2!

We need something new in the thread so, on my renewed system, I decided to up date - UNman (now with Anni-cape action)
It's a super simple design since the UN flag has only two colors on it I did my best to match the blue in the flag with the chest and legs, white for the extras and I finished up with an Anniversary Cape in the color of the blue. Say it with me now - "Ooooh, Shiny."
Not sure when we will see him in game, but I do have a FreeFrom concept in mind. Must consult the Build Sensei first. { bows to FF master }

It is true that the stark simplicity of the UN flag makes it hard to really make a uniform that pops. But I found that adding a bit of black gives him a nice late Bronze Age feel.
I have created a two-sister team, only one of which actually bears national colours. But the one just doesn't come without the other:
Schneeweisschen und Rosenrot (Snow-White* and Rose-Red)
The faces are identical, the bodies are slightly different, Rosenrot is slightly more sexy and musculous (even though the difference is not as extreme as it seems in the image because their stance is different. Rosenrot uses "Vixen" whereas Schneeweisschen uses "Average")
I suggest "The Radiant" for Schneeweisschen. For Rosenrot anything that is outgoing and impulsive.
*Not to be confused with Snow-White from Snow-White and the Seven Dwarves. That's an entirely different character who also has a different name in German: Schneewittchen instead of Schneeweisschen.
I think I'll sit down and make another few the next days. I've got an idea for one that I'll call either Rhinegold or Loreley and another I'll call simply "Keeper" (inspired by Oliver Kahn).
EDIT: Moved images from imageshack.us to one.ubuntu.com because the prior has a tendency to delete images without notice.
This is a costume idea I had for a male toon that displays Jamaican heritage by using the colors of the Jamaican flag. Wasn't sure what kind of belt to give him so I just kind-a chose one at random.
Since I don't play male toons, you don't have to worry about the rare possibility of running into your doppelganger if you use this look. He does use the Golden Age boots for male in this costume.
Meow , heh , the title is my reply " heh , well yeah it's kinda lovely to do that , but nah i won't :P"
It's trying to communicate with us, I'm certain! Does anyone speak this language?

Well, it's a possibility...I made a character with the same theme. He's on the Primus Database named Rastamon. I've actually used him since my COH days.
Edit: I created two pages on the Primus database, so there is no point in posting all of this here. The two aspects of Rhinegold: Julie Roux and Magdalena Roux

This one is more or less patriotic, or rather the only national hero on my roster. I'm not a Russian, so it can be patriotic for real.
Name's Soviet Girl.
While now it's completely outdated name for a hero, this is her moniker since WWII and she's quite attached to it. Also, word "soviet" in Russian means council, or advice, and was used more specifically as "people's council".
Thus, when used by Russian person this word may not always be related to Communism period, but simply used as "of the people" (though it's certainly NOT an exact translation - more its cultural context).
Which would fit her, as she's definitively a rather classic patriotic hero, down to her mindset - serve the Motherland and the people no matter the change of government.
First is her WW II costume, the Soviet Union one, second one is her modern costume done with colours of the Russian Federation. As a government controlled hero, she can no longer wear Soviet union colors and must comply to new policy, hence change of outfit.
Now, problem with making modern Russian costume is, that their national colors are quite common tricolor - white, blue and red.
It's really hard to make it NOT looking like US/UK/French hero, because only really unique things in their flag is horizontal combination and exact color order.
Would be much more simple if we had two-headed eagle emblem, as black two-headed eagle combined with those colors can be taken only for Russian colors.
Fortunately we have star emblem with colorable border, and modern Russian airforce roundel is red star in blue border, with additional white border outside. So it was more or less possible to make modern Russian emblem on her costume.
Since this character was fighter pilot during WWII (and back then Soviet army was the only one accepting female pilots for combat duties) and in theory still is enlisted, modern Russian air forces roundel fits her.
And her UN costume:
Best thing about government sponsored heroes is that no work must be done to include them smashing villains anywhere if UNTIL operates there as well. They can be part of UN contingent from their mother country. Of course as long as said country is part of the United Nations.
Yeah, I know.
It's a bit too much branstorm put into one simple costume.
Since the Flag Speed events, I have been seeing more and more Patriotic heroes, well, American ones mostly.
Still, I am happy for any love being show to this thread. Thanks for all of you great costumes guys. Guys like me need all of the help we can get when we try using the CC.
Made one myself, specifically to take advantage of the 4th giveaways. He's kinda uninspired, but fun enough.
The Colonial
He's mostly Might and Martial Arts with a touch or two of close-range fire powers. I took all the free sidekicks from all my characters and put them in his storage so he'd have a sidekick for a long long time.
I actually have Thundrax's nemesis Zorasto as a toon. So when it came time to do his nemesis, I made it Thundrax. I had to get the arms folded shot for Thundrax *some* way.
Which turns Dockside Nemesis with Zorasto into a "heroes are tricked into battling another hero" scenario.
Same thing with Alyssa Q'Uzixola and Kali Q'Uzixola. Kali's nemesis is Alyssa, and I have to admit it's quite interesting to have to fight my main protagonist with other players, especially if I start going all "Good job destroying that pesky hero, my fellow villians!" on local chat and ruffling some people's RP feathers.
The one thing I miss though is that I can't actually give "nemesis Alyssa" the same powers and gear of the actual Alyssa. She'd be much more a threat if I could. Same goes for Kali or Azazel (Alyssa's nemesis-es).
Comments
I'd call it a love letter to my Russian comrades in the game, but they'd think love is weak.
So it's more like my salute to them, as every Russian I met is awesome.
I know you guys just want a costume picture, but here's some stories on Russian might.
--- on making a Supergroup with Russians ---
So I met a bunch of Russians wanting to join a Supergroup. I invited them to ours.
But playing a bit with them, it soon became obvious they deserved a more awesome SG.
So I just decided to make one with them. We went to the Champions HQ.
I had a rough idea and a name and an emblem, but I needed a colour, so I asked them.
Without missing a beat, they went "Red!" "RED." One guy said, "RAD."
(See, even when they misspell, they just make things more awesome.)
Red is a strong colour, favouring the strong, the passionate, the bold.
I did think it odd, as I reckoned in the post-Soviet era they'd hate Soviet Red.
I'm still not sure, but I think there's a hate/love relationship with the Soviet era.
(One guy did say "green", but everyone screamed at him in Russian, it was hilarious.)
--- on meeting a random Russian in-game ---
So I was in the Desert, doing UNITY missions with my level 40 Glacier.
I saw Grond. Then I saw some random level 20-something ATTACKING Grond.
Seeing someone doing a suicide run solo, I did the logical thing. I tried to help.
I turned on my Unbreakable, hit Grond, got hit back, just barely survived.
The other guy got smoked, though. Instant KO, disappeared in a respawn.
Grond lost interest and leapt away, I stayed just to regen my health.
And the guy came back. He looked around for a bit, like he wasn't done with Grond yet.
He sees me, and he gave me the best compliment I got in a game:
Random Guy: Privet. (i.e. he was Russian and he thought I was too)
Me: Sorry, not Russian. You speak English?
Russian Guy: No. Why you here? This place full of death. (i.e. Grond)
Me: I'm here because you are here. Alone. You needed help.
Russian Guy: You sure you are not Russian? (i.e. Russians help each other, even in death)
Me: Yes, I am sure. I am Chinese.
Russian Guy: Ah. Chinese ALMOST Russian.
IMHO, it wasn't arrogance or nationalism. It's just he thought I was as crazy as he was.
I lived in many countries and I admire them all, but I made this as I'm almost Russian.
---
So it's those experiences, plus more from real life, I poured into this character.
It only took 30 minutes. I made it right after a costume contest was announced.
To my Russian comrades, Мы будем всегда беззаветно верны!

Ohhhhh. All 3 of those costumes were great, but that original Soviet costume is really wonderful. Great-looking toon!
Haven't looked at this tread in a while, but I agree with this assessment. The U.S.S.R. may be gone, but that costume looks great.
