Please remove player made contest winners characters from alerts
- they dont give unlocks
- some have been bugged
- unlike lore characters they appear in every alert both vibora and in mil city
- they dont fit in with lore
- everything else is temporary why not these too

Now that I think about it, perhaps they should hold the contest like once a year, and replace the old characters w/ new ones, to kinda keep things fresh.

The Nemesis Smash Alerts are probably the most popular ones. There are usually 20 to 40 people in the queue and they stick around for hours on weekends.
The player-made Nemeses are far better and more varied than the default ones that are used for players that don't have a Nemesis defined.
They'll never do it because that would require them redoing the code. They weren't smart enough to think about having each different type of alert active during development so its not going to happen.
The nemesis smask alerts are popular becasue of the questionite box. That and a lot of people pick easy power sets.
If I'm on one of mine with celestial, I have to warn melee about the bounce back it keeps using. Oner yell at the start and they know to prepare.
The default ones are supposed to be random powersets but after about the first two weeks, they got stuck on Scourge.

They actually did fix that issue before. Demoiselle Nocturn used to have the same ridiculous self heal, until they appearantly gave her a tweaked version of Shadow Form.
Ao'quephoth, however, was deliberately left broken, because Gentleman Crush likes him this way. No kidding, I wish I was.
As for them not fitting in with the lore:
Hrodegir - Is a zombie. Nothing new.
Rockjaw - Is a mutant. Nothing new either.
Devana Hawke - Is an assassin. There are plenty of those.
Ao'quephoth and The Madstone - Are Qliphothic Horrors.
Madame Mayham is the only one that could directly clash with the lore. The only thing that keeps her from being a Mary Sue is how insignificant she is.
But on the other hand... there are a few Doctor Destroyer wannabes in the Champions lore, from Professor Muerte to Fandao Junzhu (the Overlord). Madame Mayham is just another psycho trying to immitate the Great Destroyer (and arguably more psychotic than the others).
I remember a few things in City of Heroes that players hated, but were left unchanged because one or more devs wanted it that way. I also remember a few where the dev in question relented, or left the game and their replacement made the change.
So it is possible that Ao could get tweaked in the future.

One of the big plot points in Champions Online is that Doctor Destroyer is missing and with him missing no-one is about to survey and police all the hidden, secret facilities he might have created to deal with any number of contingencies.
So Madam Mayhem could easily be someone who has grabbed some portion of those resources. She seems to have access to superhuman armour and destroids.
So yes, she is a fairly credible addition to the Champions Universe.
A Prootwaddle is one of the weirder player-character races in "The Fantasy Trip", Steve Jackson's first published role-playing game.
She is not using actual Destroids, which idicates that she has no real ties to Doctor Destroyer.
I don't know what her creators intentions were, but personally, I see her as a crazed fangirl who just really wants to be the daughter of Doctor Destroyer. If she wasn't so dangerous, she would be a laughable villain like Foxbat.
Looking at her that way, she makes perfect sense as a character!
It's not like player characters, well most of them, belong to the Champions lore either.

1. Kevin Poe is supposed to be a joke - the veritable "whipping boy" villain of CO. Why he was given powerful darkness attacks is beyond me. And his constant use of breakaway shot is just annoying.
2. Because Devana Hawke is a boss, her toxic arrow is way more powerful than it has any right to be. It should be more in line w/ what players can do - not an instant AoE hold w/ a short cooldown and perception debuffs.
3. Freon uses the NPC version of snowstorm, which blinds players - really sucks if you're a melee character and he decides to cast it right on top of himself. This should be changed over to the PC version. His "hard frost" debuff is also OP, as it causes any further attacks he does to do immense damage, slows you to a crawl, and is very very hard to get away from.
4. There is absolutely no reason why Mr. Gemini should have LR. It doesn't fit thematically, and it doesn't fit mechanically. He should have something like Aura of Ebon Destruction, Aura of Primal Majesty, or Aura of Radiant Protection, seeing as his whole schtick is that he makes duplicates - so he should have a passive that buffs them.
5. Ao'Qephoth heal abilities should be placed on a much longer cooldown, and he should have a better tell when he is about to use one. You shouldn't need Skarn's or a way of inflicting trauma just to be able to beat him, (yes I know you can still whittle him down w/ enough DPS, but he's clearly broken).

Not sure what kind of rewards would they drop tho, as some of em don't wear any special costume pieces n what not.
There are numerous supervillains that don't have their own alerts. I'd love to see villains such as Slug, Menton, Armadillo, Diamondback, Redstone, Mechaniste etc.

1. Sure, cause we need more easy bosses that stand still and do little to no damage.

4. He's not magical though... Defiance would work, especially if every time you make him get a stack of it he pops out a clone.
5. The only thing Ao'Qephoth needs is a review on how the Burst buff affects him. There are multiple ways to beat him, with block, skarn's bane, trauma, and high dps being only four examples ( and wow, FOUR different ways to beat a boss, when every other boss only has one? )
You could simulate the changes you want implemented just by not queuing for the bosses you mentioned and only sticking to the bosses that stand there and barely hurt you, since you seem to enjoy stand'n'spam gameplay and nothing else.
Sorry if that sounded harsh, but the last thing this game needs is to get even more boring.

Actually, isn't Poe supposed to have Force powers? It's kinda weird how he ended up with darkness. Remember how he used to have PFF?
Don't take away his backflip though, I like moving around in fights for reasons other than being bored.

Agreed! He would make an awsome alert boss! And his tights would make an awesome drop! :biggrin:
The newer version is borring, and was never actually used anyway.
I actually liked that since Free For All, Kevin Poe would fight you personally instead of running away and leaving you with Tachyon. (Somehow, the lore entries still say you fought Tachyon there. :rolleyes:) But not placing Tachyon somewhere else in the game was a waste of potential. If there is ever a second wave of alert villains, he really needs to be amongst them. In his original tights!

Why a serum developed by a psychic researcher working for Psi should give you force powers or darkness powers is beyond me and the funny thing is everything Poe does (aside his powers) is mind control based (at one point he wants to wipe the mind of everyone living in Millenium city :biggrin: )
