We're currently experiencing some issues with the Great Race that we added this morning. Players are failing the race partway through, occasionally not getting boosts from the rings, and occasionally not getting the reward at the end.
We have fixes for all of these in the works -- we hope to have them live as soon as we are able. In the meantime, if the boost doesn't sound when you go through a ring, you can trigger it by backing up and going through again. This is just a temporary behavior, the fix will make it unnecessary.

Sky command pops with only 1 player in queue. You can go in and pick up a hoverdisk from there.
As far as I'm aware, the vigil is tomorrow, the memorial CC is today. I'm trying to contact Flare to let him know about this, find out what the timing is.
I'm not certain. I'm guessing an hour to an hour and a half, though.
Any way you can ask about the 'metal only' texture on the new Gladiator pieces? That was a huge bummer.
I realize that, but I hate having to use "work-arounds" just to get something to work like it really should have from the get-go.

Hm... it seems someone's bubble of delusion has finally popped.
Yeah, well the race event just showed me that the legacy CTP that I spent months grinding for at exponential material requirement rates to get to Rank 3 has been working at Rank 2 speeds for heaven knows how long, so... DEBUGGING!

It's cool if this isn't open content for everyone, I mean folks that are free to play and lifers like me aren't going to spend money on lock boxes so I can understand the need to reward those su . . . super fans that are, but you could be at least up front about it. Say: "This mission requires a vehicle to complete" or something like that.
Not even R3 rocket boots/jetpacks?
Whoever you are, be that person one hundred percent. Don't compromise on your identity.
If you don't have a flying toon, you can get a hover disk from carrier assault, or buy a temporary become device with flight from the AH.
Heck, you could even retcon a toon to get flight just for the race, if you wanted, and were smart enough to always keep your travel power as your last one chosen.
Whoever you are, be that person one hundred percent. Don't compromise on your identity.
Probably to make us buy vehicles.

LOL. I'm F2P and hardly what one would consider a "su...super fan" and even I have been able to pick up a vehicle in the now months since they became available, didn't spend a dime of real money. But then perhaps I'm not as lazy or "making a statement" as some.

Even though I should feel good that we are at least getting something every 3 weeks instead of nothing for months, I'm not. And that's because we got vehicle racing before character racing.
I know they are just trying to validate vehicles existing because if they did character racing instead, then it would only solidify that having them in the game is pointless.

I easily finished it with T3 flight. I failed before the first ring with T1 Rocket Pack.

Don't feel bad, Jon. Zed has Flight R3 but my hand-eye coordination has never been good enough for these sorts of tasks.
Personally, I think Sapphire should just give a Flying Disc (30 min limit?) to anyone who accepts the task. No, wait, she's up in the air. So then someone on the ground should be offing the disc if you agree to go talk with Sapphire. Or something like that.
You can do it with R2 flight (barely) also if you stay on the race course. I finished with 3 or 4 seconds left. Of course, I screwed up the first five times I tried the race course. The race really needs better course markers.
For the record, w/ the Hawkwing, my best time is finishing w/ about 49 secs to spare.

On my first go at it I didn't even notice there were markers until the last stretch that was up in the sky. Those gold dots just blend right in to the buildings at street level.
Thank goodness for people who know the course and are using rainbow flight.

Since you have to go through the rings and missing one will cause a fail I wouldn't trust the pathing of follow.
After the first couple times through I had no problems. The first time was before the fixes, so I didn't get the reward even though I finished, and the second time I failed partway through. However, once I knew the route (and the fixes were implemented), I succeeded on 17 toons.
I've finished it with a toon with R2 Rainbow Cloud, so it's definitely doable.
I even finished (in first, ahead of some vehichles!?!) using ice slide, though I wouldn't recommend it, cause ice slide is even more annoying than normal for this (took me a couple tries before I managed to start the race with ice, and then 2 tries racing to finish).
I have not run it with a vehicle, since I don't have one. Well, I have a prototype one, but I have no intention of racing with that toon since I don't want to waste the double XP buff she has. :P
