I think it's quite apparent that Telepathy isn't going to get looked at for some time. We're too busy with an "event" right now and new vehicle shinies.

They've been occupied with it for 4 months now...Q_Q..oh well..back to sipping that peppermint tea Mentella! Or was it running around screaming what the villains are thinking at the superheroes?
If there's voice acting in the cutscenes, its totally missing
If you wipe with the boss, after you walk back he won't attack you at all (not sure if this happens all the time)
Besides that is a nice quick instanced mission, nothing to argue there... and I am curious of the contents of that reward at the end.... maybe a random costume in there?? something rare and juicy maybe??

I'm hoping the boss actually drops a Qbox in final, you know, like all "bosses" are supposed to since on alert came out (many still don't). Also, hopefully something better than [UNTIL Field Kit] will be rewarded by the circle.
Other than that, yeah, it's about as ok as a less than 5 minute instanced mission can be, i guess.
Are we preparing for yet another 'UNTIL Sky Command'?
...
If you mean lots of hype and nobody touches it with a 25ft pole after the first few days, then quite possibly....yes.

Wow this game every time become more pathetic! i mean since Perfect World took it. Been playing this game for 3 years and this game was my fav game till perfect world started screwing up with it. I quit on Nov for this reason, because they keep adding pointless and boring content instead of working on the many bugs there is. I was waiting for the telepathic powers but like Ravenforce said, they will never come back. I really hope cryptic goes independently because if they do, this game will be come so much better and allot of players will come back. Cryptic used to run this game good alone, i mean yeah there was the bugs but the game still was so much fun. They actually care about bugs and they give us feed back. Has anyone seen Gentleman crush? He was author of the telepathic powers now where's him? hiding because there is no progress or news about the Telepathic powers. What about the Mega D's invasion? "Oh we will bring them back on Monday" being months from when they said that and we have never seen them come back. It's embarrassing how they made a big announcement about it on different game website and it only last how much? 2 days? 3? So much for crashing the anniversary, i guess sapphire lived up to her reputation and at least! rock out with us and showed us a good time. Anyways I wont say much Kontrol already went through all this as well.
I think it's simply the next stage. I believe the one after this is "the big one".
Even so, not very MEGA! so far just a normal event...if even that. At the rate we are getting these "missions" it feels a little sad. I am sorry, i dont want to sound ungrateful, but a month for 5 minutes of content. It just doesnt seem right.
Unsatisfied as i am, thanks for the effort CO-no sarcasim intended.
I don't know the rp side of me loves this misson very well done i have seen. Now the content i wnat is here but it would be nice if there was more. Now i will keep giveing them a chance to bring new content. But if something comes like a diffrent game that fit's for me. I will go to it but for now i'm sticking around.
Should the Shape-shifting Lemurians be using Destroid beam rifles? Should they be using rifles at all? And why do they seem to hit like the Viper ones?
Is the cut scene for the force field being opened supposed ot trigger before you actually get there? I saw it after I'd defeated the group in front of it [I didn't know that at the time] without seeing the gate because I pulled the group to me.
Also, Vallo's room should probably have -just- lemurian-ish objects in it. It seemed a bit weird that the first thing that drew my eye was the Gadroon saucer.
The tunnel down is cool and should have something drawing your attention to go look, even thought the driller is pointed backward.
Definite bugs..
Also, the cut scene for the force field being opened definitely has the camera off angle. I just saw a view of the security 'ring' from the floor for a second.
Vallo is target-able, and attack-able, but totally immune until you step in. You should just start the cut scene as soon as the door opens. As is it looks a bit silly and disadvantages ranged characters a bit

I really like the mission. Not sure why it needs two players, but pretty fun.
If this is true then remove it, this mechanic of forced grping for content you can do without just reduces its playability!
Lemurian crisis and monster island crisis hardly get done because of this.
There should always be the option of playing content with 1, 2,3 or whatever. Weather you can suceed depends on the chr/player/difficulty setting and mission.
Forcing people to do it as a team just because is a stupid idea.

They don't force it, but they do say its a recommended 2 mission. I don't know, seemed like a cakewalk to me. I might be biased from having my level 40 freeform doing it though.

Ahh ok thanks nm then, thought meant it needed 2 not recommended 2.
And yet again no reaction at all from any gm/dev to anything that is asked or said.
I remember when we actually got answers and could discuss things with them.
Do they want this game to die? Seriously?
Lately i've been playing some indiegames and sure those games have bugs aswell but atleast the devs talk with people there.
Don't get me wrong, I still love Champions Online. But the way it is currently being managed I can't recommend it to any of my friends. And since there is no advertising at all being done about Champions Online that means people will have to hear from other people. And guess what... they won't at this rate because I'm too ashamed to talk about how one of my favorit games is being moderated.
K, that's the end of my rant. Just had to throw it out :P
Have tried the new mission. My personal take is that there is far, far too few mobs to justify a recommended for 2.
Does this mission scales to level? I only play my 40s these days.
We may not need super hard hitting mobs but plenty of them always makes the mission more mega.
The final boss of this mission could be upped to a minor legendary as well.
The purple until kit, does it drop anything of interest for players? A simple but rare costume piece may be all it takes to make it more baiting for players to do the mission.
A super rare chance of a Legion drop? Make it repeatable but maybe without the questionite rewards for subsequent runs.
Do not waste the resources spent to create this mission or it ends up like Carrier Defense, very interesting but totally unrewarding.
Also a note to all those who just keeps bashing the game and especially those who have left and continues to bash the game:
We scream and scream for content. Something is added, not to the degree that we want, in fact far from it but do we really have to bash it down as well? Should we not say, yes, this is the direction but we hope to see more, much more but keep at it? Whywould any devs even try to create any new content if all they see is condemnation whether they do it or not. For those who have left, what is the purpose of coming here to bash the game? So that more players will leave? So that this game will close and everyone will move to a game you are playing?
I understand people are frustrated. I have played for 2 years now. Definitely nowhere close to the vets who started since beta but it is not a short time. I enjoyed the game and still does because of friends. There is hardly any new content and the new missions are far too short and leave us asking for more certainly. I have farmed gravitar, vikorin, Therakiel to the death. However, the last thing I want is for this game to fold like the other one recently. Let the devs, business people know we support the game and wish to help it grow in what ways we can contribute. Alternatively, we can all be doomsayer and let it become a self fulfilling prophecy.
3D models?
Mission development? (if the foundry could be put in place)
These can be what players could help to supply to the game FOC and can be sold at a minor cost to the community.
Content for the game, profits for the company. Win-win.
I also agree to the above post that communication is what we need. Let us know the issues faced and let's work things out. The absence and refusal to communicate with the community will only send signals and fear that the plug will be pulled after a short term and intense milking of the remaining playerbase.
Let the devs, business people know we support the game and wish to help it grow in what ways we can contribute.
What would you suggest, camping outside of the PW building with signs 'We Love Champions Online! Really We Do!'?
Send mail with capes and masks in them?
Put a costume on and go fight crime in the streets?
Throw money at them?
Write long walls of text in the forum how the game could be made better?
Continue playing the game even if no one even notices it?
Spend money on the game even if it's same stuff you paid a year and half ago?
Gather around the bonfire and sing 'Kumbayah'?
Give them posts of negativity/positivity every time they release something, even no one seem to notice them?
Dance and sing 'Gangnam Style' for them and post the movie in Youtube?
CHAMPIONS ONLINE:Join Date: Apr 2008
And playing by myself since Aug 2009 Godtier: Lifetime Subscriber
Encounter in UNTIL vault before reaching the rest of the vault. Steelhead and Whiteout Episode 2 assets to be borrowed as needed.
Large diagonal platform elevator (minimum of 250x200 unit) descending a tunnel.(Tunnel moves, not the elevator, just like in the Steamboat encounter in low level Vibora Bay.) There is a stack of destructible crates in the center to use as line of sight.
Travel powers disabled. Invisible volume prevents falling out of playing area. Waves of Lemurian melee and sorcerers attack you to prevent you from reaching the vault. (see Monster Island open mission "Raptor Rush" for gameplay example) Survive these waves and beat them down so you can proceed to the vault. There will be a reward bonus for all in addition to the reward at the end for each player who makes it through with no KOs.

Certainly not bash posts and posts that speaks of leaving the game. Why would you think that no one will notice if there are players who are playing the game and players who are paying the game.
If we throw money at them they will certainly be pleased. Let's ask ourselves if we are running the company and this is our bread and butter, would we not spend our investments (time, money, manpower, resources) on something which will bring the most profits in return?
If you mean lots of hype and nobody touches it with a 25ft pole after the first few days, then quite possibly....yes.
That's not the fault of the content but the fault of what is rewarded. Cryptic seems to have forgotten that to keep players invested they need to be rewarded adequately when it comes to CO. STO doesn't have that problem.
This is turning out much better than the last two updates. But lets hope that the rewards have nothing to do with vehicles.
Yeah, i agree that the rewards for this mission shouldn't be linked to the vehicles. It's bad enough that they're C-store required, but i shouldn't have to lose out on rewards for missions because i don't want to shell out money for something i can use them on.
Let the devs, business people know we support the game and wish to help it grow in what ways we can contribute.
This is what we made since 2009, give them our money in the hope to see content updates as we can see on other games. Updates we never seen here since 3 years, but just some 15 mns new content every 3 or 4 months. Or 6 months without any new content as we have now. (And in this situation, when they say "we will create an event for the 3 newt months", some players says hourra ! Lol)
This is what we made since 2009, say them we like this game and wants new content, say them the bugs we see on the pts (and they release the patch with all the bugs as if they don't read what's the players write).
If we throw money at them they will certainly be pleased. Let's ask ourselves if we are running the company and this is our bread and butter, would we not spend our investments (time, money, manpower, resources) on something which will bring the most profits in return?
They have to ask theirselves what they can do, if they want the players continue to pay for.
We are not sponsors, we are customers.
This isn't a bluff to say we will quit, personnaly i already quit this game since november, and all my friends had quit before me.
And what cryptic have made for co since november ? This is simple: Nothing.
What your money spend for ? But pleased them, as you says.
You're here since 2 years, then you know the history of this game.
How can you think they will create some major new content if we continue to pay ? If this could be the case, since 3 years, the content would be here since a long time.
But ok to play at this "if i was running the company, what i will create for the game, for the most profits in return".
Then if i was running this company, i will try to give back to this game the devs they have picked to send them on other games, i will create some BIG new playable content for the players can come back and playing with some new things they won't finish in 5-15 mns before logout, and i will give some publicity for the game with some interviews (as they do with massively for useless things as vehicules) to create some buzz.
And i will translate the game in german and french because as the other games, europa have almost the same number of players than US and germany and france are 66% of the europa servers on the other games.
Because without players, (especially loyal players on the long term), nobody will buy the fluff i sell in the store and/or nobody will pay a sub. Right ?
And i will stop to create some others new mmos when i prove every day i can't manage one or two mmos correctly too (sto, and co even more). People have a good memory. Players won't forget how cryptic manage their mmos.
Because if NW don't have enough content at his release, it will fail as sto and co had failed in their first release.
For me, it seems logical to works correctly in my market product rather than don't work on it and try to create a second product when i have a bad publicity on my first one.
We will see if they're right or not. All i can read on the internet forums of my country, Cryptic have a really bad reputation and almost all the players says "i will never play at NW or every other new mmos they will create".
And this, this isn't good for Cryptic. Not good.
I agree and totally understand where you are coming from. I mean 3 years is a long time waiting for something that never eventualize. I am just a bit confused whether you quarrel is with CO or PWE.
The on-alert patch to me was a rather major change buggy as it may be. That was not exactly content as many will see it but regardless I think it will take quite a bit of time and resources to do that up. I am not sure, with the PWE buy over, if there are enough of the old team left, whether they are transferred to other games or they are no longer with the company.
I certainly like new content but I just wonder how many hours of game play will a new zone afford a single player before they ask for new stuff again. I also wonder how much resources is needed to create that kind of content. I also wonder how many people and how much they have to charge for that content before it is profitable. I have no answers but this information will definitely be able to give us a better understanding of where this game is heading.
Is this game being milked for all it is worth to finance a new game? It this game running on life support because of small player base? Is this game doing alright just that the income is being used to line the pocket of the CEO? I guess these are answers we will never get from the horses mouth.
I love Marvel, I love DC, but their current MMOs just do not cut it for me while CO does. So despite the drought of content, I still do not wish to see it fold.
I'm totally agree with you. On alert is, for me, the only update which were great for the game.
More customization, more content with alerts (even if this a simple copy/paste of the graphics/instances we have seen in the other maps of the game), more farming with questionite to retain players.
But with this update, they have almost killed the open world pve because the most quickly (TOO Much) way to xp is the smash alert, and the better way to gain questionite too.
And on alert killed the pvp on this game, too. One of the two things the players do at end game. Too bad. A big error.

Beetween answer 1 and answer 2, i think. But yes, we won't any news on this ^^

I don't want to see it fold, too. But i stop to dreaming on what cryptic will do. I don't waiting nothing anymore because i think this is all we will have.
I don't have enjoyment anymore on this game, and i won't come back to play with it until they create new big playable content.
A New map (as makeb, in swtor i play now) could be great but just a new end game lair as therakiel's temple or nemcon, and at the same time a great work on pvp (rewards as pve, gear and questionite for exemple) could be great too.
I certainly like new content but I just wonder how many hours of game play will a new zone afford a single player before they ask for new stuff again
Its not how much gameplay it will give (though the more the better obviously) but how long a period of customer satisfaction and patience waiting for something more it generates.
For instance a new AP might only provide 1-2 hours unique gameplay. many more of worthwhile and fun repetition (as long as rewards are right which is another issue) and even longer patience waiting for more.
For me, a new AP would deffinately buy them 3 months patience, maybe more, and originally they were supposedly gonna be putting one out per month, then it was a comic series chapter per month, then nothing for the last 14...
A new zone would give far more, and a full expansion even more.

I lol'd when i saw "comic series were meant to be monthly" because there's only 2, and the large gap in time means they stopped this monthly routine before it even began
Since we don't have the rewards for it yet, I was wanting to talk to somebody about adding the beam rifles the Lemurians are using to the drop tables as reward and make them available in the particle rifle and assault rifle costume editor please:biggrin:

This post is worth its weight in gold!
If only Cryptic could would see the hidden wisdom of investment...

As I recall Poz said that it was originally going to be one AP every other month with the month in between devoted to bug fixes and the like.
Agree with your post otherwise though. Excellent points.

Here's hoping the patch = MORE than Suck.
You know cause stealth "fixes" are "good" for the game. /sarcasm
(then again you could take the 1 minute at the end of your workday to tell players/consumers the "fixes' you've implemented.. then when its broken AGAIN we have a thread to point at and say "look they said it was fixed.. but it still sucks" will not be deleted from the vision/history of the forumites because.. you know its "TOO TRUE"
Holding people accountable can (and WILL) get you banned from the forums

Oh, hey you're back, yay. but why return? You're just going to get angry each time you see minuscule content they offer us.

you still wanted to do some lairs? XD
Frankly forums are better than the game. And No, I am not back. I quit until, at LEAST, telepathy/hold review is complete. But since there is no chat function so i check up on people here.
I would advise, as strongly as possible, that the Lemurian costume parts either be fixed, or flat pulled from the mission though. You are not going to win points with players by giving them broken parts, and you are certainly going to lose them.

It's because you are locked out of the costume/costume slot you have assigned to that build. Still need the C-Store fixed after all this time.
I know you guys said it wasn't because of grab bag/drop box rate testing but if it was I think you should know we can do that regardless nowadays.

And playing by myself since Aug 2009

is it too late for:
That's not the fault of the content but the fault of what is rewarded. Cryptic seems to have forgotten that to keep players invested they need to be rewarded adequately when it comes to CO. STO doesn't have that problem.
This is turning out much better than the last two updates. But lets hope that the rewards have nothing to do with vehicles.
*idea*
Consolidate the currencies! (Please!)
Does your Champion have a theme song? (share it!)
Got a funny in-game screenshot? (share it!)
Please fix the Overdrive energy unlock! (Should help promote thematic build diversity!)
As I recall Poz said that it was originally going to be one AP every other month with the month in between devoted to bug fixes and the like.
Agree with your post otherwise though. Excellent points.
'Caine, miss you bud. Fly high.
These notes = Suck.
Besides that it looks quite solid so far.
