If they were physical like some scraps of debris are, that would
be the most insanely sandbox fun thing since this game has come out.
Even without damage, just stacking and piling them and kicking them about and causing tons of lag and bugs.
Maybe you could build a chair that you could sit in and not push your ankles through the concrete.
    Epic new levels of gameplay.

10 Million Minecraft sales can't be wrong.

    Champions Online: Back to Boxes.

Haha, so glad to have my only ranged attack "back".

Though throwing an invisible truck at someone was a great sneak attack.

I'm not sure if this is just me, but fiddling around with the various video settings resulted in... nothing I pick up or throw becoming visible.

    *edit*

Disregard... I see the patch notes are for tomorrow. *headdesk*

Woo. I'm so glad throw is finally going to be fixed.

Bonus points because every time people cry about the devs they mention how this hasn't been fixed since the beginning, blah blah. One less thing to complain about.

I still don't imagine I'll be throwing a lot of things though.

Oh gosh, such a large update, i hope my internet has enough data usage this month to patch.

But really this seems like a waste to me, i'm happy they are fixing bugs but... that's all they have done since 13th december?

Givin the fact every time there's any form of maintenance my launcher goes haywire and thus requires me in asking a very helpful friend for the champions online.exe file everytime i find this a bit dis-heartening.

But i suppose on the brightside, with this bug out of the way maybe they'll fix the nighthawk hood to the original way they sold it as? You know, being able to be worn with virtually any head type/category before they did a hidden "patch" to limit it strictly to hoods. How is it fair to sell a costume and then for some reason take it's primary purchase value away like that? You know the hood was a great hit simply because of that fact of it can be USED. Now it CAN'T be used.

Let me amend this slightly by saying it was like that when it was released, then it got fixed, but then was broken again before the secret fix patch...Which is just plain odd.

I'm not sure fixing this bug is such a great idea.

Because now we're headed right back to the bad old days of Might toons carrying semis through RenCen, each and every one smugly certain he came up with the idea first...

How big are the shipping containers in Dockside Dustup? They do a heck of a lot of damage when hurled at enemies using Telekinesis.

Bug fixes are always good even if they were fixed and then broken and then re-fixed. We should remember these are not the original team of devs and it is inevitable as they figure the codes and even try to clean up some codes, they may break some stuff. Much as all companies will stress the importance of continuity and proper hand-overs, we know that it is seldom this can be implemented perfectly.

I agree that the players have been waiting a long time for more substantial content but so far, this has been a good start to the year. We know there will be a new high level mission coming, they have put back the legacy device kit (of course since this makes money), the bikes are going to be in drifter store soon (people complained when they have to gamble on lockboxes and now they are going to complain they are too expensive; somehow, it seems some people are expecting social welfare handouts). Of course, we all hope that they keep this up.

Let's all be positive and give the team some encouragement.

Okay, the way you phrase it i'm sort of lost in what you're trying to say.

When you said "It was like that when it was released" What did you mean? Because i remember at release it could be used in lots of categories, then during the secret fix they restricted it to just hoods head types.

the way you said makes it sound like the same thing, but if you ARE saying the same thing, then it means the secret fix did also do that, but in which case if it "broke" again, it still has restrictions so i can't see which way you're going.

    Alright, let me clarify.

When it was first released, it was 'broken' in that it could be used in all categories. That went with most, if not all, of the nighthawk parts. Nighthawks head counts as a beast head, helmeted head, and multiple others. The hood was able to be used with certain head selections aside form the hoods category.

They had 'fixed' this once before, changing it only to the hoods category. However, after a bit of an outcry by people to turn it back to what it was, the hood was 'rebroken' in a sense. It could be used with the different head options once again.

After the 'secret patch' it was fixed again, and is now what it is this moment. Unfortunately, that means those with certain head options and hoods are now uneditable costumes.

Then i don't understand the original intent of your first response as i had said originally it was useable with all head types at release.

My issue is the fact it was released in one way, and then pointlessly "fixed" (Once again another case of Cryptic "fixing" things that are enjoyable to players and spending a very looooooooooong time to fix bugs that are game breaking, open missions reign of frogs and now bullet bound for biselle for one, and even the pick up objects bug)

My new concern, having not known they allegedly "rebroke" the hood for the players is the fact they then "re-fix" it secretly.

It just shows how deceptive they can be.

Where are all these damn costume bug fixes for every other costume? They never fix it for females, and never fix it when there is a legitimate broken issue, but they "fix" a non-existent "broken" part of the hood when it doesn't even affect the gameplay whatsoever.

Unless somehow this hood being broken meant you gained Gentleman Crush's Wristwatch which gave 567 in all stats, i think they have better things to spend their time on. Like real bugs, or adding content.

Given how everyone seems quite willing to accept an entire patch for two items after months of nothing, i'd guess extremely low.

I'm grateful for bug fixes and all but i'd be even more grateful if they occurred within a 2-3 week period of the bug occuring, not a year later as a reason to pacify the fact there's been new actual updates for ages. Last release notes were from 13th december still. And even that
was simply to re-add previous C-store become devices in the Q-store.

And before that, 6th December was to add collection agents around the zones. Which is all fine and dandy... except We already HAD collection agents close to the starting hub of each zone, so unless they plan on adding some NPC merchanting system, it's rather pointless when they should have been spread across opposite sides of the zones

Just starting to look like they just took the idea of recycling alerts non stop to recycling content. And i'm losing faith in this game because of it.

Considering there wasnt origionally supossed to be a patch this week, I would think it is a great victory. It shows Cryptic is willing to get off its butt to push something through. So I call that improvement!

True enough! But the real question is whether this is just a one-time stunt, or the beginning of a trend to return this game to its original functionality.

That said, keep it up, Cryptic! There are plenty more bugs out there that are just begging for some attention! :3

other than misspelling Originally I put what I meant. Traiturtle said a week ago that the Pick up and throw would be part of the next patch in two weeks. he then later posted that he had good news. Which was the fix would come in one week and not two.

So, no. I did not mean "wasn't originally supposed to be a patch this month."

We'll see when the patch does or does not come. As long as there IS a patch, i don't mind. I just can't stand what seems like patches simply to make it look like things are getting done, meanwhile they all revolve around past content and nothing new. And lockboxes don't count as an update as more of a sinking ship with the captain doing a snatch and grab of all the lifeboats from all the crew/passengers to carry all their money with him. The captain should stay loyal to his ship and crew/passengers to the bitter end.

Also, apart from "originally" you left out "supposed":p

There will be a patch next week and every 2 weeks for the next cple of months, as stated for the mega event.

How much is in any of them is another matter - like the first one was an npc you clicked on for a costume unlock and the change to lockboxes (bikes instead of tanks)

Swing it around by it's tail (complete with doppler cat-yowling), build up speed then release!

Whatever it hits gets shredded and deafened simultaneously.
