Ninja Leaves Travel Power

Disappear in a puff of leaves and speed off to the rescue with the new Ninja Leaves travel power!

Similar to the Ninja Vanish power, this power triggers stealth as you activate it. Where Ninja Vanish lets you run with moderate super speed, though, Ninja Leaves lets you fly while stealthed, working like teleportation powers.

This new travel power is available now for just 525 ZEN. Get yours today!

Just bought it and I must say I am completely satisfied with this. I just love the FX, fits perfectly for my main... also nice sound FX as well.

Works like the normal TP... your character is pseudo invisible during the phasing (and the phasing looks brown like the store screenshot).

Overall, I really recommend this TP if it fits any of your characters.

Edit: Actually I do have 1 small gripe with this power. During the phasing the "teleport whooooooooosh" sound I think it would be better if it was gone, and just leave the "leaves" sound. Besides that I love everything else done in here, thumbs up to Splosions.

Your Character plays the backhand chop animation while leaves and 'wind' circle them in a clockwise manner. From there you enter 'teleport mode' and everything except your hud gets a sepia effect. While traveling in 'teleport mode' your character becomes significantly transparent (slightly more than elder worm's humidity dome but it may be because of the sepia effect..Also look at my mouth!) and you also get all the teleport debuffs. You are granted flight, directly related to teleport's flight in every way and while moving around you gain a trail of 'wind' and leaves.

A direct teleport reskin unlike ninja vanish. But, alas, like ninja vanish you don't get a 'sneak' so no high damaging SS for you!(Even if it did the teleport debuff won't allow you to attack anyway)

Now time for the issues! Unlike teleport, it has issues with repeated use. The only way I can describe it is that with teleport you only need to pull up a little to negate the moveforward issue but with Ninja Leaves you must pull up hard(staring almost directly upwards). To easily test what I am talking about, obtain teleport and Ninja leaves then use rmb to stare directly at your feet then use the two powers and slowly use Keystroke "w" to move forward while rmb to pull up and compare how high you must drag the mouse to yield an upwards return.

Edit: Wait wait wait wait wait.......certain trees can be pushed with such a great force...Think of tornado flight except triple, no, quadruple the effect...AND other people can see the trees you mess with...So...Yea it pretty much is worth it just to **** with the trees

This is awesome, and I want it, and I will probably buy it even though I will probably never use it unless I make a character designed around it.

Bought it for my ninja vampire bunny.

Thank you for releasing something truly desirable in the Z-Store rather than locking it behind grab bags or lockboxes! <3

Y'know, I've only seen ninja leaves in Dead or Alive 2 as win animations for Ryu Hayabusa and the redhead ninja lady. Where did ninja-leaf-teleporting even come from?

Finally, the ninja teleport I've wanted since that survey on which travel power we wanted next months ago. Good work on this one.

I'd still like to see a tech based teleport, then I think the teleport variants would be fully rounded out.

Super Jump is possibly the most awesome and also least useful of all the TPs. I get a kick out of jumping around town and the desert but get in amongst some trees and it loses some effectiveness, get in a building and it's pretty much useless. My mystically powered might toon used it until level 35 at which point I was really glad to get heroic flight.

    Request:

Would you be so kind as to generate a video of new travel powers displaying their appearance and usage in-game, preferably with portions showing the perspective of the user and then the perspective of an observer? I suspect it would increase the (initial) sales volume if y'all pushed a web-accessible video at the same time you pushed the travel power to the live servers.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but have we given up on patch notes in the launcher or did I just not notice them?

Also, can we get a little content that doesn't cost zen?

    And maybe.. some bug fixes?

Unless these are being ninja-ed into the game, I haven't seen any bug fixes in a long while besides the hot-tub fix. The big and "obvious" bugs are still persistent.

Any ETA of the "bug patrol" to get those squashed?

    Thanks.

There are a few polls on the forums about what people want next, and i think it would be nice if TrailTurtle could pass those on to the team. As I've posted on one, it really seems like Cryptic should be the ones polling the fans about what they want next, not just tossing things out and seeing what sticks. They don't represent the whole community, but it IS a representation of the community none the less and they're both full of some really good ideas. Ideas that i'm sure people would be more than willing to pay for as content additions.

I also hope they put some new powers in as well, like water...does anyone agree with that?

Finally something genuinely good in the z-store. This will work for many themes from ninja to nature to crouching tiger MA. I also like how it causes a physics gust of wind around you that blows the capes ect. of near by heroes.

Now all we need is the ultimate ninja costume pack.

    EDIT:
Wow, that gust of wind on the power activation is strong. I activated the TP while standing next to trees and bushes and damn near blew them sideways.

Way to go, Cryptic. Thanks for 'fixing' something again and ruining it. I absolutely fail to see what problems this 'bug' was causing. 'Here's the Legos... NO YOU ARE BUILDING IT WRONG!'

I have a very slight issue with this TP...

moving forward, makes you dive down as if you are on Ice Slide but not maintaining height with spacebar...

It also seems to last alot less than normal teleport but that could be just my perception.

Other than that, it looks like an epic plant attack when activating..

    Almost like PETAL PUNCH!

That Reminds me, Cross posting from the bugs forum topic so that it's more likely to get attention:

After messing around with it for a few seconds, it's very apparent what's wrong with the travel power.

For some reason, its forward movement is angled downward at about a 45 degree angle by default. You can see this easily if you just activate it and use space to fly straight up, then move forward (not angling your view up or down at all, just at a flat horizontal level). Left, right, and backward movement are unaffected and work just fine.

this power sounds cool at first but can anyone confirm whether it travels at the same speed as ninja vanish or faster? ninja vanish is the most worthless TP in the game. it looks cool when toggled and i was so excited to add it to my ninja toon but when running while stealthed the speed modifier is so weak it you are barely running faster than normal speed. it is so effing slow. slowest TP i've seen, making it not worth the effort. i used it maybe a dozen times and then removed it in the powerhouse.

does this leaf power make you travel any faster?

the way both powers are descbibed makes one think they will be just like teleport but different animation so it is such a disappointing punch in the crotch when you realize you've purchased a power that by definition was supposed to make you travel faster but instead has made you the equivelent of a fat kid at 100 meter dash. by the time you get your feet off the block, everyone else has passed the finish line. seriously why is it so slow? and is leave any faster?

It's a good idea, and one that we did on Jade Dynasty (one of my other games) -- and yeah, it did boost sales somewhat. Unfortunately, as with many other possible projects, this probably won't happen because of the time it would take.

These took my product manager on JD about half a day to make about a 30-second video with the threshold of quality, and he had it down to a science. Anything yours traily would do would take twice as long and come off looking amateurish, I'm afraid.

Where were the release notes in the launcher in the past? Did they used to go in the feed in the upper-left? I hadn't thought of having those there, I'll chew it over. That is pretty prime real estate, but for some fixes it might be worthwhile.

It is so true, I bought all the Recog pieces from MCPD and Primus and none of them unlocked for any of my other already made characters. I am slowly working my way through the Until Pieces now. Thus almost all Recog pieces do not unlock for any character except the one you bought them on.
Though if you made a character after buying pieces, they MAY unlock for that one.

This bug has been afflicting telepaths (Mind ATs ONLY) since On Alert and has not been fixed.

    Aura of Radiant Protection

This power in combat situations cancels out block mechanic, as it applies seems to apply a hidden Crippling Challenge to self, animation will still play in some cases but no block benefit is given.

Being influenced by TWO AoRP from any two healers will cause you to lose the ability to block.

You still play the animation but you cannot block any attack. This bug sadly occured on my Gravitar team and she wiped us out very quickly because no one could block, compliments of my AoRP.

Since the emergence of this bug, I promptly stopped playing my Mind AT and months later I am now LTS.

I'd like to see this issue passed on to the Devs as well please.

PS: Mr TT, these videos are done with a demo version of Fraps, at the standard quality, without using any of the game possibilities that you devs have (understand: I still have to cash up the Zen or Questionite, etc.), despite all that, I usually manage to give the community a valid, yet amateurish preview of what the TP looks like, usually within 24 hours of it being released. All of that takes me 20 minutes...

Please don't tell me the team can't afford a pro version of Fraps and the one hour tops it would require to generate a satisfying level of quality for a preview.

Intriguing. An "official" preview of Ninja Vanish might have gone a long way toward silencing some of the criticism of it, because it's plain to me that after vanishing you don't get "a really slow version of Superspeed" - you get Acrobatics! Slower than Superspeed, smaller jumps than Superleap, but you get both, as well as the backflip we saw when she backed away from the platform edge.

As for Ninja Leaves (yes, the ninja certainly does leave, doesn't she?), my only remaining question is, does the Flight aspect eventually fade away, like Teleport, leaving you both visible and falling? Or does it continue until canceled?

    It's a teleport reskin.
iow, auto-leaves (pun intended) the flight, with or without slow-fall (depends on the game's mood) and visible.

Disassembly Line and FoxBat VS Fiend.
You can do everything for Disassembly Line and it won't finish.
With the Foxbat one, you can get him alive through everything and he STILL dies somehow....
I truly despise doing missions more than once and STILL not being able to have them register as finished.
Something needs to be done about that.

Thanks, I'll pass this on to the dev team. Can you give me any details on which costume pieces are only unlocking per character?

    Thanks, I'll pass this on.

There is a whole "bugs" subforum full of threads about topics like costume piece unlock problems, clipping issues, etc etc etc. If you're -sincere- about saying you'll pass things on, perhaps you should look around that part of the boards & collate the most popular items for 'passing on' to people who can fix them. Keep up the Public Relations Work!

    It's a teleport reskin.
iow, auto-leaves (pun intended) the flight, with or without slow-fall (depends on the game's mood) and visible.

In addition to this I find that the forward motion is a bit odd, unlike teleport it holds you flying foward at a 45 degree downwards angle. And the phase in for smaller chars is great.

I've done a bit of testing with this new travel power on one of my characters. The 45 degree downward angle only seems to happen to me at least when I'm currently affected or should be currently affected by the slowfall effect. Otherwise the power functions like any other teleport out there.
