A new person coming over from COH may or may not see the value of Freeform vs archetypes. I see this sale as benefiting veterans more.
Yeah, I can see this aimed at Vets way more, especially since the sale only lasts 3 days, if it lasted like 1 week, then I could see it being something major. But I think they just stuck it onto the Anniversary event.....which btw is also incredibly short...cmoooon 3 days to celebrate 3 years of epic game? Its way too short.
People coming over from CoH are also, and perhaps more importantly, used to getting character slots a lot cheaper.
Well you can purchase two character slots for $14, that's $7 a slot. Which is all you need if you are a subscriber or a lifetimer. But you actually get a free slot when you get a character to 40, so why bother.
The only people who have to worry about freeform slots are silver players (non-subscribers).
Freeform is about the only thing that causes people to subscribe, which generates money for the game, so we can, like, y'know, continue to play it.
This thread just reminds me that no matter how far they drop the price of something there will always be people saying it isn't cheap enough. Personally, as someone who has no use for this, I've always felt the price should have been around the $25-$30 mark. I also hope that the many people who mentioned on the forums and in zone chat wanting the slot for half of the original price put their money where their mouth is and buy one...although some of those names are present here...and still complaining that it's too expensive...

They're not however used to Freeform characters, so I'm not sure what your point is.
There's a massive difference between a FF slot and just another character slot.
