Bug: I get to run around in the Air! was actually kind'a fun. Where it happens: In the Boss fight for the Nighthawk mission What happens: I died and crashed, but instead of respawning, I was left running around in the air and couldn't get anywhere.
Also the Big shot-slotted as number 7 on the heavy Vehicle would never work, I had full energy but it would saqy I didnt have enough energy.
The mish flying around with your team against Stone was pretty fun. Not going to be everyones cup of tea, I do wish you could get out and Fight flying around-you maybe able to, was on a toon who could fly. Would be fun to try later. Kind'a anti climatic, and wish the Cinematics were a bit better. Going into the Penthouse it was a little silly that Nighthawk goes from walking to slow motion sprinting for no reason, and we dont get to see him takeout the baddies when he shows up. Would love to see cuts like the old Batman show, POW-Wam-Bonk etc.
The mish is a good way to introduce vehicles. The lack of any real award-for now nakes it all feel like it was all for nothing.
It maybe too late, but I would see if you could have Nighthawk show up at the three fake nighthawk fights. Right now the plot feels hollow, Needs more story to it to make it anything other than just another grind mish.
Also, though it is fun, I do have to agree that the vehicles being faster than our travel powers sucks. Though I would just rather see the Travel powers sped up a bit, and vehicles speed decreased only a little bit.

Bug: At the beginning of the mission (after you kill the 4 "security" mobs), elevator "cutscene" refuses to engage unless you PULL the 2 (of 4) mobs away from the elevator (at least 10').
Solution: Move the 2 mobs 10' farther away from the elevator.

You can.
Just go jump out the window and ignore the jets. Keep in mind though that his model is HUGE so hitting him in melee is nearly impossible, and 50ft attacks need to be right up against his hull.
It just takes a while to get to where Stone is. And then you can generally do more damage (especially if you're an optimized build) than a jet can.
BUG: You can use the Super Magnifier/Shrinker before getting into a Jet, thus taking on its size difference (until you attack obviously). Thus can be used for griefing as a HUEG JET!
Bug: Cannot reenter Franklin Stone's penthouse.
Where it happens: In the lair for the Nighthawk mission
What happens: I queued with the rest of my team and something crashed me, after relogging I was outside the building and could not get back in, it gave me the option to queue back into the mission but would not allow me to enter
Boomerang energy costs too low? I mean...4.4 energy cost for a full charge, thats ridiculous for the damage it outputs, please raise the energy costs. A lot.
Two bugs, and they kind of build upon each other. Both take place in the Final Nighthawk mission map, Franklin Stone's Penthouse.
Bug One: If you use one of the in-mission jet vehicles, and subsequently leave the Penthouse Map for any reason (mission completion or otherwise), you are stuck in Jet form. The only way I have observed to negate this trap is to be killed; you respawn as normal. Bug Two: At the conclusion of the Stone fight (when you beat his gunship), it seems that just before the cutscene with Defender and Chief Surhoff starts, the players should have been automatically returned to their basic form. This does not happen, and subsequently, they remain trapped in Jet form until killed.
This form freezing only seems to apply to the in-mission vehicles. If you use the vehicles acquired from the debugger, you are free to toggle the jet on and off whenever you please, as normal.
I only had about an hour to kill towards this patch today. Mostly working on RL issues.
That said it was a pretty fun chain, save for some minor issues I had:
1.) Circ. Evidence seems like a grind extender to me. It should be a lot easier tog et to drop from mobs. It'd also be nice to have a specific area to go to for this kind of clean up work. Bit clunky to wander the map, looking for random mobs to grind...err...beat up. Might be worth it if they dropped something else worthwhile (Maybe costume parts for Nighthawk?)
2.) Night Avenger is no longer usable. Bummer in that it kept me from using my NA in this mission chain.
3.) The character transfer is working now, but you're limited to the first six slots. As I have more than triple that amount, could we get the list extended to allow transfer of all characters? It'd save me from having to level and re-gear characters every time I want to test out new patches.
Didn't get past the initial part of the chain though.
Boomerang energy costs too low? I mean...4.4 energy cost for a full charge, thats ridiculous for the damage it outputs, please raise the energy costs. A lot.
Yeah just to bump this...Rcochet throw costs 1.7-5 energy for me...and Throwing blades are 2.3-7.1....Balance Cryptic?
Improvement definitely shows with the cut scenes in the Franklin queue. And I'm glad we can ignore the jet and fight with our superheroes. Chasing after him isn't a problem thanks to the pillars of light and getting in melee isn't trouble as all as long as you auto follow. About that...
Auto follow slows down right before you get into melee.
This wasn't always the case, but when running animations were changed just before the Athletics TP was added, the auto follow slows to a walk before getting in melee range making it useless for melee characters. Please return the speed back to full no matter how close you are.
Bug: Gas Pellets sometimes does no damage at all, effectively ignoring enemies standing in the AoE. This seems to be strangely random but occurs more often when using it on enemies who are able to fly (Demonlings, Succubi, VIPER Air Cavalry etc.) Also a damage buff for Gas Pellets would be appropriate from my POV.
I just wanted to mention something that bugged me a little when I was on the PTS last night.
The animation for gas pellets is a little goofy at the end. The character animates like he/she just took damage and winces back. This was tested on dummies so....they aren't hitting me back.
Yeah just to bump this...Rcochet throw costs 1.7-5 energy for me...and Throwing blades are 2.3-7.1....Balance Cryptic?
Oh yes, almost forgot that. The energy cost is way too low. With no gear on the PTS and only REC super statted, I could tap Ricochet throw endlessly and charging was not much different.
I just have to wonder... Why does Franklin Stone change into a ninja outfit to pilot his giant VTOL? He starts out in his business attire, appears outside suddenly in a giant ****-off VTOL, then he's a ninja on the rooftop after his VTOL meets its explody demise. Okay...
The mission's pretty easy since you can just attack from max range with the jets and then just scoot back a little bit to gain out of combat HP regen then scoot back in to continue blasting away.
Also, I love Frankie's little "butt-shuffle" out from behind the desk maneuver when you first meet in the penthouse.
After having played through the last part, I say: I'm impressed. Nice stuff going on here.
- The ACI Security Guards use the Shadow Army costumes (if this is intentional, disregard this). If these are still placeholders, I'd recommend using recolored Stronghold Security guards. They look more like actual security personnel and less like mercs.
- Sometimes the additional ACI security guards along with their cutscene dont spawn after beating up the first guards.
- I agree, some comic sound effect panels when Nighthawk beats up the guards would be cool.
- After Nighthawk beats up the guards you can sometimes see your team members beaten down as well. Unintentional I guess.
- I'd make the whole team follow Nighthawk on his way up. While it may be a little crowded in the corridor, having the rest of your team appear on the uppper floors without you is immersion-breaking.
- As already pointed out, Franklin Stone does his best moonwalk impression while greeting your team from behind his desk. While certainly funny, this shouldn't be.
- In the ending cutscene, Franklin Stone appears as a ninja.
- In the ending cutscene, sometimes Defender's head is replaced by Franklin Stone's head.
- The 'Hired Thugs' all over the city and in the instances still lack their faction indicated ('Hired Thugs'), a functioning master villain class and dialogue.
- Sometimes after turning in the 'Who is... Nighthawk?' mission at Defender, the mission is still listed in your mission log. (It could also be that it doesn't let itself turn in at all.)
- Franklin Stone's VTOL jet. One of the coolest vehicles in the game. Kudos to the designer here. Now... Can we have a scaled down version of it as a skin for our own vehicles? Or at least parts of it?
- EDIT: Also after the cutscene in the penthouse ends you're required to pick a jet, you can fall out of the broken windows. This can lead to probelms if the player doesn't have a flight travel power as they are effectively trapped down the skyscraper. A solution would be to make the broken windows 'fall-proof' and themselves the interactable object for the jet pick instead of the jets. Also add a 4th actually broken window leading to the outside for those who want to engage Franklin Stone without a jet.

It seems entirely plausible that we'll get our own VTOL gunships in the fall, when the true Vehicles system makes its debut.
Is imbue bugged?
Energy builders seem to consume imbue.
I wish the various boomerang throw powers had a varying pitch for the sound effect just so i can know for sure what i just threw.

I think it would be cool if we got to actually see Nighthawk fight at some point. We do this whole mission chain about this mysterious vigilante, and then he does absolutely nothing at his big climactic entrance. He should also help us fight Franklin Stone in some way or another or at least look like he is - confronting Franklin Stone is Nighthawk's entire reason for being there.
Then again, he IS a former Champion, so maybe he took "hide behind the player characters and take all the credit" lessons from Defender.
Also, this is a bit unrelated, but I gave Nighthawk my own voice when he was doing his dialogue. He came out sounding like Adam Jensen, so now I can't stop imagining Nighthawk talking about non-lethal takedowns and how he never asked for this.
Also is it possible to get the new sneak as a separate power when this hits live instead of being forced to take Night Warrior passive?
The devs said in the past that the only way they could balance Sneak was if it was made into a passive (so people couldn't just take it as a power pick and get all the benefits). Well, now they've done that.

I do too.
That other Super hero MMO introduced a big name super villain with stalker ability(Captain Mako) and also a villain faction with stealth and shadow strike.
I hope you guys are considering adding mobs with Night Warrior.

I just came from playing the Franklin Stone Lair on the PTS. Here are some general thoughts:
1. The fight in the lobby is pretty standard fair. I like Nighthawk's entrance though! I would have Stone or someone else come over the PA and say something like "We have uninvited guests! Show them some hospitality, boys!".
2. Once we do get up to Stone's Penthouse, (great use of the Penthouse hideout BTW), there needs to be a little cutscene showing Stone making his escape, and some direction to get into a jet.
3. There should be a way to change what type of jet you took - in case there's too many medivacs or something. Speaking of which, with the large amount of moving around for the jet portion of the lair, the medivac's heal beam needs a longer range and the heal drone should get a larger radius and perhaps a longer duration.
4. It's not clear that there are engineers that come out to repair Stone's jet. Perhaps Nighhawk could accompany the players and offer some useful advice during the fight - things like "Watch out! He's deploying laser drones!" or "Quick! Get those engineers before they repair Stone's craft!".
5. Overall, the event is definitely doable, but it needs some tightening up and a little clearer direction.
Regarding other aspects of the event:
1. I don't like that we're attacking random masked hoodlums in the street for the circumstantial evidence. There needs to be a better tie-in - perhaps have each wearing some piece of Nighthawk's costume to give us a reason to go in for a closer look, or name them things like "Suspicious individual," "Lookout," "Loiterer," and so on. Have them also display dialogue like "We set him up good," or "The boss is gonna like this one" - things to give us a little more tangible reason to roll 'em.
2. I feel that the reasons for our investigation need to be a little less "prove Nighthawk's innocence" and "Is he or isn't he guilty". It just feels like too much of a foregone conclusion if Defender wants us to prove him innocent and Chief Surhoff is only investigating reluctantly...
3. I still feel that *all* the boomerang attacks using the exact same animations is a poor decision. They need more of a distinction. Similarly, the extremely limited and nearly identical powers that the 3 jets have is unfortunate. The medivac and tank-jet having only 3 identical damaging attacks, when the event is timed, only hinders things.
I would have the medivac's #1 attack be a laser and have it function a little like celestial conduit - it would heal a friendly or harm an enemy. The medivac's inability to use its healing beam on itself means that if it's caught between heal drone recharges, you're doomed.
The tank-jet having 2 taunts and not much else is another shortcoming. Give it a big attack instead of one of them.
The fast attack jet is just about right.
I also feel that the door to each location, (lab, bank, warehouse), should be marked on the map - if I complete 1 or 2 of the sections, but the MCPD scanner isn't on one I need, I'm stuck waiting around until it cycles back to one I need...
Thoughts on the New AT:
The current power progression and choices are a little "off". Here's how I would arrange the powers:
1 Hawk's Talons or Boomerang Throw
1 Viper's Fangs
6 Smoke Bomb Lunge or Grapple Gun Pull
8 Night Warrior
11 Ricochet Throw
14 Form of the Tiger
17 Throwing Blades
21 Parry
25 Dragon's Claws or Bolas
30 Gas Pellets
35 Smoke Bomb or Intensity
40 Strafing Run

"Your Shadow Strike deals 15986 Slashing Damage to Chair."
Is that supposed to happen? lol
This is not talented, not geared, not spec'd damage on the new AT.
Yup.
Not stealthed? 135 Damage.
Stealthed? 17k.
Seems legit.
Although I kind of see what they want to do with it. Make it an 'opening' power that surprises the target and lets you get through their defenses. But this is going to hurt so much in Alerts, and, well, everywhere else. People will just Shadow Strike, use something like Smoke Grenade or Evasive Manoeuvres, wait the four seconds for stealth, then go do it again.
There go 90% of bosses and difficulty in the game, and having a passive that lets you walk past every mob group in existence will just end it for gameplay.
...
Wow this became a bit more ranty then I originally thought.
Everything gets perpetually worse because they don't HAVE any balance standards. If they release thing like this and even the most timid of players can exploit it.. what do you think will happen when it hits the playerbase at large.
Do you think players ENJOY extremely unbalanced gameplay? Is that the reason you've lost players since 2009 on a steady decay.. because the game "was too balanced"? lmao.
- -
It's all gas and no brakes.. And it's not like they aren't TOLD these concerns before they go release the next pile of "Lets kill the game". But players don't care about the game as a whole.. they just want **** buffed to OP porportions again AND again AND again.. expecially if it's martial arts. Lord forbed something worthless be buffed and your chosen mechanic is crowd control.. then we'll continue to beat you like you stole something.
Having tried the whole quest chain, I have a few points to say about it.
1: It would be nice to have the entrances to the different instances properly marked. Spent too much time on finding them.
2: The circumstancial evidence thing is tedious. Would be nice if there was some proper reason for attacking those mobs, except the fact that they're there.
3: The queue system for the lair at the end is a bit messed up. Since you need 5 people, you're left waiting for ever. Also, it doesn't prioritize at all. My boyfriend and I both queued. He before me. I got in on the first wave, he didn't. Maybe make it so you can get in with three or four people? That would have made the waiting less annoying and tedious.
4: While I'm no fan of huge lairs, that one is just too short. First floor, and then right up? Also, it would be nice to see Nighthawk do something.
5: Confusing to find out what you're meant to be doing once you get to the penthouse.
6: The whole jet thing, while a cool idea, was a bit annoying, really. Was hard to find out where to go and what to do.
Cool ideas, but in practice it's a bit meh, at least to me.
Same with the AT. Cool powers, but seems a bit lacking in survivability. Oh well, once I got the hang of the whole stealthing thing, it got quite a bit more fun.
I like the event. For vehicle balance. How about put a limited amount of each type, like 2 tanks, 2 healers and 3-4 dps's, so they wont be 4 tanks or 4 healers.
I have to agree with the need of some cutscene information. Why are those vehicles there? It could be interesting that nighthawk join the fight but I can understand if it is cumbersome at this point.
I feel the tank vehicle a bit lacking, taunt and defense might be a bit annoying to keep up given the energy management issue. I would double the time of the defense power so I could use through 2 reloads instead of one. One reload for defense power and one reload for either taunt or dps.
About the new AT, it seems to me like extreme rogue/stalker concept but those can be very tricky to implement, especially for pvp where sudden one-shot kill won't be too much fun for many.
What I also noticed, in best boss tradition, Franklin Stone could use some dialogue during his fight in which he taunts the players over the radio. Being a businessman, he could do so by appraising his own jet. Examples:
"The ACI MK IV VTOL Jet is the newest in airborne superiority vehicles! It features the latest in weapon, armor and support technologies, all made by the company of your trust: ACI Industries!"
"The MK IV features the latest in weapon technology: Two 25 mm ACI 'Peacemaker' gatling guns and the new ACI 'Lightshow' laser drone system guarantee the utter desturction of the enemy!"
"The armor plating of the MK IV features a questionite/graphit composite alloy with pockets of ultra-leightweight flux crystals to compensate for magical attacks!"

I'm surprised Kauffman didn't just say: "A guy with the smarts to make that sort of vehicle to fight the capes? Screw bringing him down, I'm joining his team!"
But yeah. Definitely signed. This arc needs flavor text and polish in the worst way at every stage.

Wow this became a bit more ranty then I originally thought.
I can already hit like this with most tier 3 charge ups in the game without worrying about stealth or a power with a 40 second cooldown... So, i'm not sure why you think SS will suddenly make anything different... As a matter of fact, i'm easily hitting for up to 27,000 damage with the VB-A1A Eagle Blaster just using Nightwarrior (Electric Form previously), concentration, and ice sheathe... That's 10,000-27,000 damage every 3 seconds...
*edit*
Also, FYI, Shadow Strike is both incapable of critting, and its damage only scales with role; not gear, talents, passives, AOs, etc... About the only way you can get it to hit for more damage is by hitting a target with a damage resistance debuff on it.
And on top of all that, sneak still doesn't work on *tough* or *elite* mobs, they see right through it at melee range. If I wanted to "Walk past every mob group in existence" I'd just take tunneling, because it allows you to literally "sneak" past anything except *tough* mobs in lairs.

Except Shadow Strike has a cooldown of longer than four seconds? So you can't just spam it incessantly?
I think it has a cooldown of like 40 seconds, honestly.
It has always functioned this way, along with the other On Next Hit powers.

Ive been wrong before, but im very confident that Imbue was specifically exempt from being triggered by energy builders in the past.
Retaliation was altered to not be immediately consumed by energy builders (by way of having a damage threshold of a couple hundred points or so). Imbue's always been that way. I actually had to specifically write a keybind that activates Imbue and simultaneously detoggles my Energy Builder, because it was getting blown on the first EB shot before I could start charging Rocket or Haymaker.

I was able to sneak up on elite mobs using a stealth travel power like teleport (and i imagine ninja vanish would have a similar result). Travel powers stealth and sneaks stealth stack.
Just teleport into melee range and start to charge Shadow Strike as soon as teleport drops.

Also is it possible to get the new sneak as a separate power when this hits live instead of being forced to take Night Warrior passive?
Thanks. Everything else looks fun and will be interesting to see how many Nighthawk ships will be flying around now. lol
Snark never dies.

Advanced hyperkinetic dampening system remains on after switching device off.
Energy builders seem to consume imbue.
I wish the various boomerang throw powers had a varying pitch for the sound effect just so i can know for sure what i just threw.

Thanks for the info.

Deliciously nutritious!

I'm surprised Kauffman didn't just say: "A guy with the smarts to make that sort of vehicle to fight the capes? Screw bringing him down, I'm joining his team!"
But yeah. Definitely signed. This arc needs flavor text and polish in the worst way at every stage.
Citation, again.
Snark never dies.
Except Shadow Strike has a cooldown of longer than four seconds? So you can't just spam it incessantly?
I think it has a cooldown of like 40 seconds, honestly.
Glorious.

Just teleport into melee range and start to charge Shadow Strike as soon as teleport drops.
