The new costume pieces are impressive as well as the auras. Shame that there isn't a skin aura, but the tights will suffice. Though the water tights coloring is really off. Cyan has a green effect on it as well as a lot of other colors are washed out. Corrosive adopts the colors better than this new Water texture.
    Havoc Hammer

Updated tooltip to include the charge lockout applies to any Haymaker variant.

This is disappointing. Makes me never want to use it since I'll be locked out of using regular Haymaker in between uses. On top of needing to use powers to apply the sonic debuff, which worsens the stun and para effect of the device.

Why don't these new costume bits have the ice material? So much potential of these is lost by not having it.

Are there no 10 point perks for the Flail emote and Leaves Costume Transformation?

The Leaves transformation does not seem to show up in the tailor or on the power list after being unlocked. Perk progress is awarded, but the transform is unavailable.

    Unironically tho, yes

Eh They are nice, I'm more fan of the Fire Hairstyle myself rather that the whole Fire and Ice Elemental costumes!
I design mostly Spellcasters with Robes and such
    Blade Bomb

Meh! They exist I guess, that's nice
At least we know this is going to be 100% the Norm of Alerts have 2 PVDs

POWERFRAME REVAMPS, NEW POWERS and BUG FIXES > Recycled Content and Events and even costumes at this point Introvert guy who use CO to make his characters playable and get experimental with Viable FF Theme builds! Ok so... still no powerframe updates no new power...

as an Elementalist fan... ehhhh... I'm gonna remove Meteor Blaze from my Warlock and stick with Ultimate Fireball since Fireball is his primary attack! YAY 1 free power and 4 adv points to use~

My Elemental Mage and my Fire and Ice Tanks don't use Fireball to take advantage of this synergy
    Havoc Hammer

Updated tooltip to include the charge lockout applies to any Haymaker variant.
OK BUT WHY THO!? Now the PVD is even more useless since it locks you out of Haymaker! What is this?

Why develop so much time making the PVD even worse?

    Power Variant Devices
    Ultimate Fireball

    Scales off of Fireball
Deals damage in a area effect.
    Applies Clinging Flames.
    Applies Unstable Accelerant.
Leaves behind Scorched Ground, increasing fire damage taken for a short time.

BUG: The ultimate doesn't leave any Scorched Ground buff behind neither have any visual indicator for it

The Ultimate Fireball is great and all, hits hard (The dps is superior to Meteor Blaze LOL)

But WHY Fireball? This is a Fire and Water lockbox?
Why not Ultimate Rimefire to fully commit to the theme!

The Fire guy won! That's biased! Fire already has bigger synergies and applications compared to Ice and Wind (which needs to be revamped)

or you could have the PVD but also include an ACTUAL NEW ICE ultimate unlock! Best of Both Worlds :|
or a power ultimate for both Fire and Ice/Wind(?) power-frames, Raging Mist! BANG there you go

That's my only complain with this lockbox, not fully committing to the Fire-Water theme

You spent time and resources to take a somewhat good PVD and make it into an unattractive mess. There's no value in locking out haymaker or your new PVD.

Just a check, does your build require a respec? (power icon is flashing red?), costume transforms will not unlock if your build is invalid.

For most concepts where a superhero can turn into any given material, like water, fire, metal, crystal… whatever, but their costume stays the same - it really is a shame that these auras (I’m assuming?) can’t tell what is a character’s skin from skintight-ish clothing, superhero tights, boots, gloves and etc. Ideally, they would come as: Skin (affects only a toon’s bodily tissue: skin, hair, eyes, eyebrows…), Tights (affects only the costume), and then Armor (accessories in general such as Bracers, Capes, Chestwear, Footwear Accessories, Wings… etc).

It’s something that you can sort of do with this lockbox in particular, because of the Water/Fire Tights piece. But for instance: we can’t make other hairstyles in this material, so it still falls short in that regard.

    To help with that:
In the future, please consider making versions of materials such as these (also the Crystal aura, from the Winter event), available for purchase as a SPECIAL MATERIAL - like it was done with Ghost, Ice and Shadow materials. That’d include:

    - All Hairstyles
    - Head
    - Eyes and Eyebrows
    - Chest
    - Hands
    - Legs
    - Feet
    - Tails

(And I’d say default them to a neutral hue, since Special Materials can be tinted in the tailor.) :)

Bug: Rain Loyal Sidekick gets spawned being named "Water" instead.
    In-game, I'm The_Kef -- ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "That's really it for Champs."

Is there any chance the Havoc Hammer will get a buff given that it puts Haymaker on cooldown?

Also, as someone who has a sonic-themed character in-game, is there any chance of an "Ultimate Hyper Voice" in the future?
  • kaiserin#0958 kaiserin Posts: 3,210 Cryptic Developer
So the way material unlocks work in the game unfortunately makes it impossible for us to make an item unlock for them for unlockable costumes. It would be possible to make a qstore unlock pack down the line, but like the current ones it would only apply to base costumes.

We do not have the ability to apply a special material to a specific color channel, either (like the skin channel), if a costume part has a special material, it replaces the whole material.

Auras can apply to specific costume locations. Basically anything under a section, like hairstyle, chest layer, legs, etc, but any new combination needs to be an entirely new aura item.

Had the same thing happen, my build is valid. The unlock item is tagged as if I already have it.

It does not. I have the account-wide unlock for Leaves, now, and it was not available for any of my characters with valid builds, even after relogging or switching zones and waiting for several minutes.

Edit: I see this has been fixed in the latest update.

    OH NO!

Scorched Ground is it a RUNE!

    Why is it a Rune?

It kept getting eaten by Soul Vortex's rune which is my main source to trigger FEAR and Spirit Reverberation 😩

Don't force me to switch to Dimensional Collapse to Minmax

Still, the Q-Store materials (because they come divided in body parts), provide a better degree of control over what areas of the costume are affected. That gives us more possibilities to play with, in ways that Auras (even with their multiple versions), currently might not.

As one example: in the tailor, you can make a toon wearing full tights, a cape and a mask, with only head/neck and hands out as skin that turns into ice, for instance. Or choose to also apply the Ice material onto the Chest (torso)-Tights layer, and slap a Chest piece over it, plus bracers, gloves, and the whole lower half of the body, all remain unaffected.

So, yes, when there’s a cool new material release such as Water and Crystal, I think it’s definitely a good idea adding them to either store (Z or Q), but more down the line of course, if/when you guys can make that happen.:)

Agreed here, but please, not overpriced too, some people got lives and not farm Q each day, especially if you try something like the ridiculous legacy travel powers for millions of Q, "time limited and on sale" on top.

Can we please get a reason as to why haymaker needs to be locked out with the havoc hammer PVD? Seems like overkill and makes the device undesirable.

So turns out, Blade Bomb was actually very beneficial for my Hunter Tank build, since he is using both Ricochet Throw and Assault Riffle, so he can take advantage of Frail Armor

    and then i realized
    Blade Bomb

    Scales off of Ricochet Throw.
    Must be fully charged.
After 3 sec, deals piercing damage in a area effect.
    Stuns primary target.
Chancy to apply Frail Armor to affected targets.

OH... the chance to apply Frail Armor scales with Ricochet Throw's ranks...
if it could take into consideration ADV purchases like PVD Ultimates it would be nice
Because I got it for a build which use rank 1 Ricochet Throw with 2 different ADV
