Help With Humanoid Mole Person Build

benoitseanbenoitsean Posts: 322 Arc User
I'm trying to come up with a build that resembles a humanoid mole person. He uses his claws to dig into the earth and shred his enemies. He also throws rocks and dirt when in ranged. I also want him somewhat of a dodgy character because he should be a little quick but still deal some good damage. I came up with an idea of what I want:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
v3.44:36

Super Stats
Level 6: Strength (Primary)
Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
Level 15: Dexterity (Secondary)

Talents
Level 1: The Savage (Str: 10, Dex: 8, Con: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Martial Focus (Str: 5, Dex: 5)
Level 9: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
Level 12: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 15: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 18: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 21: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)

Powers
Level 1: Wield Earth
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
Level 6: Onslaught (Rank 2, Excessive Force)
Level 8: Way of the Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Wild Thing
Level 14: Aspect of the Bestial
Level 17: Bountiful Chi Resurgence (Resurgent Reiki)
Level 20: Rend and Tear (Rank 2, Drake's Deliverance)
Level 23: Seismic Smash (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Fissure (Rank 2, Reconstruct)
Level 29: Parry (The Elusive Monk)
Level 32: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Rebirth
Level 38: Fault Line
Adv. Points: 36/36

Travel Powers
Level 6: Tunneling (Earthen Embrace)
Level 35: Athletics (Rank 2)

Specializations
Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
Strength: Aggression (2/2)
Strength: Brutality (2/2)
Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
Vindicator: Focused Strikes (2/3)
Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Devices

I know it probably needs some work. As you can see I'm basically wanting to combine Beastial with some abilities from Earth. I know The Elusive Monk isn't very good for DPS because of the 10% loss in damage but I don't care. I really want to keep it in the build because I personally love using that adv. Thanks in advance for all of the help.

Melee Earth is generally pretty weak atm, so I'd prob avoid powers like Onslaught. Seismic Smash is okay, I suppose, but you'd have to mind the KB (you could just take Land Slide instead, I guess). Anyways, you took AotB, but most of your attacks won't bleed or poison for it (save for Shred). I'd prob also get a different self-res that doesn't dmg you, if taking one. Elusive Monk on Parry is also not really great here, since it costs 3 adv points, and BCR already lowers your dmg when used. Both of their penalties stack, so I wouldn't advise them for a non-tank build (esp when you could get something like Resurgence). I actually assumed you'd take Stone Shroud for the theme instead, and esp when using Fissure's healing adv. I'd prob also get one travel power that can grant flight.

Here's an example edit of it:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.44:36

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Dexterity (Primary)
    Level 10: Recovery (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Chiller (Dex: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 8, End: 10)
Level 6: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
    Level 9: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 15: Accurate (Dex: 5, End: 5)
    Level 18: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Wield Earth
    Level 1: Viper's Fangs (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 6: Earth Form (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 8: Form of the Tempest
    Level 11: Relentless
    Level 14: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 17: Dragon's Claws (Rank 2, Dragon Rush)

    Level 26: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Land Slide
Level 32: Stone Shot (Rank 2, Shard Burst)
    Level 35: Fiery Embrace
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 31/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Tunneling (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Earth Flight

    Specializations
    Dexterity: Combat Training (3/3)
    Dexterity: Gear Utilization (2/3)
    Dexterity: Deadly Aim (3/3)
    Dexterity: Expose Weakness (2/2)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

The open power slot can be w/e ya want.

Stone Shot gives you a ranged Earth attack option, and it's relatively cheap, so it not easily working w/ the EU isn't as big of a deal. Your main attacks can be VFangs for up-close melee and putting up Shredded, while charged DC is your main single-target attack (just use VF to refresh Shredded). The slotted passive could be something else (maybe get Unstoppable if you want some more knock resist), but Earth Form fits pretty well here. You can also throw Fissure into the mix, if you want.

For theme maybe the last power could be Earthquake?

Perseus, Captain Arcane, Tectonic Knight, Pankration, Siberiad, Sekhmet, Black Seraph, Clockwork
Project Attalus: Saving the world so you don't have to!

Yea, Earthquake is a bit costly, but can fit in just fine (some cost discount on gear would be good here anyways).
