Nightmare Event
  • Added Horse and Tiger skull costumes to the vendor.
  • Added Skeleton Monster hands costume to the vendor.
  • These costumes can also drop from the Nightmare Colossus.
  • Lowered the sky bloom and light diffuse slightly to help with glare on certain video settings.
  • Fixed a bug where the nightmare Demolishers for the portal daily mission were using a scaling passive intended for the open mission versions.
  • Replaced the knock on the Demolisher's Backhand power with a repel.
  • Added a slightly longer delay with the Demolisher's attack chain's third attack in its melee combo so players have a better window to block the knock on it.
  • Slightly increased the charge time on the Acolyte's Amulet attack.
  • Slightly increased the charge time on the Demolisher's hurl power.
  • Removed the hold on the Grasping Shadows power the Acolytes use as other enemies already had single target holds.
  • Shields cast by the Acolytes can no longer stack.
  • Level gated some abilities the enemies use to gradually ramp up their difficulty as you level up.
  • Fixed a bug where the Elysium Guard title wasn't granting. Players with the perk can obtain it at the Fixer vendor.
  • Updated the FX canceling on the Nightmare Colossus.
  • Fixed a bug with the Light Streaks aura coloring.
  • *Note: While this change was on pts, due to another bug the Acolyte's shields are still affecting portals. :'(

Misc
  • Fixed a bug where the names for the R2 and R3 Shadow pets were blank on the dropdown menu.
  • Added Brushed Metal, Ghost and Shadow materials to the Skeleton costume set.
  • The sun is no longer dangerously close to the earth. Currently this only affects the Nightmare Invasion sky.

Powers
  • Addressed an issue with Targeting Computer that, under some situations, caused buffs to fall off of the player.

New Power: Shade Storm
  • Unlockable via the GCR store
  • Similar to powers like Conflagration.
  • Chance to fear targets.
  • Advantage: Chance to knock down targets. Knocks into the air if targets are feared.
  • Advantage: Consumes your fear stacks and heals you.
  • Advantage: When fully maintained stuns targets.

Aww man...I was hoping for that bow emote that the Golden Seraph uses in the Arcane Council cutscene to be added to the nightmare store. :/

I was hoping they would make summoned pets not count towards aura limit.

    Thank you very much

It honestly feels better for the event theme

That isn't a quick fix, sadly. There are plans to look into splitting off various team based auras to have a target cap for players only and one for personal pets, but we have no eta on when that will be done.

Could I also suggest in the future that the Zombie No Head Costume also receive the same textures as the skeleton set?

When were the hud overlay auras gonna come, the Qliphotic and retro ones? I was hoping they would've showed up in the vendor, they look pretty cool.

If you're looking into Aura colouring, check the time warp one from Drifter, it's out of alignment like Sorcery power tinting.
Want to get to know me a bit better, Click me and take a read of My Dragon Profile Page, it's a bit dated but still relevant.

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

Hurricane changed again, now it's back to being a higher damage per pulse power but the numbers are still far lower than two weeks ago. Last week it was changed to a static damage power. I am honestly fine with it being weaker than before but is it supposed to be or is it a bug? Neither this or last week's patch notes mentioned the change

Seriously though. Stop it with the bind-to-character things. This game's supposed to be about making different characters. It's not fair when events come around and I have to use a low level toon to get items that fit their theme, but the event mobs are super-high level and utterly annihilate my toon with 0 chance.

I should be able to use a toon that can do the events and give the items to my lowbie.

Agree completely, but the devs don't agree, so we suffer along. If I have a toon that can use a BoP aura that can actually survive an event then I'll go for the aura. If I don't have a character that can survive, I just don't do the event.

Or just use a really good geared Vehicle to do the dailies with, and be careful to not fight a group of mobs that had been tagged by someone who is lvl 40 (the scaling hasnt been fixed)

The event was barely playable last year, this year it's worse, I've given up on playing it and will be happy when it's over. I don't know why you insist on making these events so hard to do on your own but until you can make a pain free way to group for the non cosmic event dailies and/or give greater rewards for teamwork you should probably leave the non cosmic monster team ups optional. The cosmic fight is fine though. It's the rest of the event that you screwed up no.

One-shot? Or do you mean the thing where you get yanked into the middle and pummeled by a dozen enemies at once?

I think the missions are still possible to solo, you just can't do the direct attack route anymore, and I don't have the time or energy to be bothered with cat and mouse stuff.

That's my approach in most cases, however thankfully, if you have 2 accounts, you can multiclient. I have one tankishly-built character on an alternate account group with the weakling on my main that I want stuff on. The weakling follows along on a vehicle or with flight and hides out of attack range/LoS while the tough character cleans house.
(Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

I could solo this way, with an upgraded vehicle using rank 2-3 weapons and all R6-7 vehicle mods. Even then, lots of cat-and-mouse play is required.

With a group of 2 other level 30+ toons, the daily missions are easy enough. I don't usually form a team through zone chat, just find other folks attempting to fight mobs near a portal or siphon, and just work together. Don't even usually join a team formally.

Because when the Knock Into along with the mobs gang attacks reach my HP at 10%, there is no escape

What I normally do is select the portal itself from afar then run up into the center and block. Keep blocking for a bit until all the enemies dump all of their initial attacks, which can take a min. Then pop Masterful dodge and go to town on the portal. Hermes heally patches are pretty good. If my HP gets too low, I hold block and duck around a corner. After the portal goes down, I take out the shield spewing Cultist, dragging the Demolisher with me.

My character is... well, certainly OP, so I don't know if this will help anyone.

    NOTE:
The updated drop from Hi-Pan seems especially stingy. After fifty runs, no costume drops, no special mod. Only gotten a Q box 10 times. The rest is either the limited use Dragon Staff or a Second Wind.

I am guessing the reward table was adjusted to fit the short time needed for a Hi-Pan run.

Yeah the Hi-Pan alert has a really sucky drop rate now. I've done it hundreds of times and haven't got anything of value from it. That MA mod is really starting to seem like it's just not worth the effort. If it's gonna be like this, can we at least get some mods in the gcr store for MA and electricity like the other power sets have? I'd rather grind out the gcr to rank a mod up to r9 than keep doing the same thing over and over for an almost non existent chance of a drop.

When you do that can they receive resistance or immunity to cosmic aoe so summoning is not negative in endgame, or, incredibly, even a positive?

It is telling Ebon Ruin had to lose a quirk just over the fact summon capability is that bad.
  • jaazaniah1jaazaniah1 Posts: 5,553 Arc User
The solution is obvious, and simple, so we know it won't be done. Every successful Hi Pan run should drop at least a R3 version of the MA Dragon's eye mod. It will also, more rarely, drop a higher value mod. See, problem fixed.

I got 1 Hi Pan Aura, a few Dragon Costumes and 1 limited usage device

GEE The new lootable is sure stingy now

I understand that Boxes of Q are not 100% drop like FM and Cybermind due to how short the alert can be

also Second Wind everywhere is starting to get annoying

RNG plays a role, of course. Curious, though--can you estimate how many runs you did?

I commented on the new loot for Hi-Pan simply because I run each special Alert about 50-75 times when it comes around , and I'm just very surprised to get no Hi-Pan costume drops, auras, empowered staffs, or special mods. The last time the alert ran, I sold about 3-4 costume parts, plus an aura and one empowered staff.

Is it true that when you make an account or character that it get's an RNG value that goes into calculating loot drops? So if that value somehow came out very low, then your toon's basically screwed for life when it comes to getting loot, right?

It was chatter I picked up in Zone chat one day. So I won't endorse that as anything resembling a fact. It's why I decided to pose the question here.
  • roughbearmattachroughbearmattach Posts: 4,784 Arc User
I think the new drop did not include the dragon eye mods. Yes, people in chat said, "I know someone that said they got one this time around."

Makes me skeptical, especially compared to previous weeks of this Alert. Oh well, being replaced with new mods, anyway.

3 years of playing, no special drops in the various alerts beyond costume unlocks and the Justice Gear tokens. Considers it silly if any of the rates are less than 1%.
