Before the Plasma Beam nerf, yes, vehicles could solo Undead Heroes in a minute or so. I remember multiple vehicles showing up and Undead Heroes being defeated in thirty seconds.
This was the beginning of my hatred for this event, and now my joy that it's fixed. "OK, charging this power...wait, he's dead????"
I remember that.... sooo annoying.
My first bloodmoon I had only one character who was level 12... If I tried to solo a point I'd get overwhelmed by the zombie hordes, and anyone who could solo the point would usually wipe the hero before I did more than tag them.
For me part of the fun was hunting down the undead heroes, last year we were doing crypts as it was the fastest way to grind coins, but there's no hunt for undead heroes anymore, they're always up, save for a few of the popular ones.

I've had more fun with "form up a mob and rotate around the city squashing the undead heroes" than I've ever had with the old version.
The way the bosses are now... it's much, much easier to particpate. Everyone gets a reward instead of the first few people with the high dps downing the open world boss in under a minute. Yesterday, I just followed a random group from boss to boss. The bosses all went down again-and-again fairly quickly.
The few times I was alone a simple message like "Eclipse is up in Zone #3" typed into zone brought immediate help every time. I'm not sure if anyone was timing or recording yesterday but bosses like Johnny Hercules were being defeated in well under 5 minutes or less.
That's less time than it takes to get up from your computer and microwave a slice of pizza.
And newsflash..the trick-or-treat bags are not bound to character. Collect a bunch and give them to the lowbie that you want to get an aura for. Because they have tokens in them. Also loot bags are being dropped by mobs in regular content. I got five bags running the elder worm missions in Millennium City.

Nimbus was pretty much the only one that went down in less than a minute (and not even all the time). I still got rewards on toons that literally did nothing other than have their energy builder auto fire. Participation doesn't get easier than that outside of devs putting all of the things in your inventory.
I always thought it was funny to watch people slaughter Nimbus. Now she just has a whole bunch of HP. So... the fight takes longer for me to get my green vendor trash gear. At least before, we could zone hope all the Nimbus fights quickly.
The new 'limited' versions of devices feel like a troll by the dev(s). You think finally got a decent reward and it's a crappy limited version. It's bad enough as a level 40 getting green gear that you could get anywhere else in the main game during a limited time event, but now we have more troll devices.
It'd be really super if older year devices where actually updated to the new rarity. Right now, previous year devices are blue, the same as the limited ones, when they should be purple.
It has always been possible to group with people and go undead hunting. This is not a new feature.
As a bit of feedback about the Q Zone rewards, I agree that it feels downright weird for the Sacred costume set to be missing a chest piece considering it's armor. You'd think that would be the first part built.
"Interesting builds are born from limitations not by letting players put everything into one build."
Most of us here don't have any real problems with the adjustments. But short time players, weaker ATs and casual players will still get curb stomped. It is kinda like Superman going "Hey I don't know why you humans moan about getting shot in the face? I can totally solo getting shot in the face!"
To new and unexperienced players this still wont be fun and they don't give two flying f&^%* how well we deal with it. Most players don't even read these forums.

My average seems to be around 1 per bag. You can get up to 4 coins each bag, but that's not very common. And you get a lot of candy... You can also get costume parts.
The Sacred set may get a chestpiece in the future. It didn't meet standards so instead of delaying the entire set we chose to cut the chest and hopefully release it at a later date when we're able to make adjustments to it.

Just my personal observations this year, but I've seen plenty of lowby (as low as level 10) characters participating, getting rewards, and joining teams to enter crypts (and sidekicking, and contributing, and sending messages which read like they had fun once we'd freed the hero's spirit). A lowby trying to solo the content will get curb-stomped, of course, which is as it should be, isn't it?

By which? Weaker characters can participate just fine in the open missions; they won't be expected to tank and will probably die way less than they do in other event boss fights. They'll have issues with Strength of Takophanes in the crypts, but those aren't supposed to be solo missions and the Harbingers weren't soloable by weaker builds in previous years anyway (they don't actually seem significantly changed).

I have always had issues with Bloodmoon being in Mill City even before the slight difficulty hike. A Halloween open event in the starter zone should be used to bring in new players. A new player will see some stuff on ARC about the Halloween event. Think that looks cool. Make a toon. Player will get out of powerhouse run straight into Grace or Virgil. Get rekt. Uninstall game and Play something else...and also running around killing non event mobs for basic loot boxes is not fun for new players.
A personally think a hard as nails version of Bloodmoon with better loot should be in Vibora Bay and an easy version in Mill City. It would give people a reason to go Vibora Bay more and the devs could do all the crazy bullshit they want to it without too much of a backlash. It also fits the spookey theme better.
The devs have this Spookey **** level 40 city and do absolutely nothing with it U_U

Well, last year they did try to add in the Ghost ship battle to Vibora Bay. Which is not back this year (yet). I'm not surprised it's on hold, I can't say I found it worthwhile last year.

I require details of how this mission worked. for the wiki of course...

The first Bloodmoon event I participated in I tried to solo on a level 12 and got overwhelmed by the zombie hordes... Or maybe it was the Strength thingy... enh.. either way I didn't get to the boss solo. So I teamed with someone equally low level.... We cleared it... but the Avatar of Woe fight was stupid long due to his healing ability. We had to slowly chip his health down a tiny bit by tiny bit. We won though!.... and never again tried that. Next time we found a third person.... who turned out to be a 2GM spammer who massacred everything as soon as it got in firing range.... Well at least it was a quick run.
There wasn't really anything special with the Ghost ship, it was set to spawn between Taco spawns. There were a few adds that could cause problems, but aside from that as long as there was a decent tank it was mostly a loot pinata with horrible animations.
There should be a new farmable demonic necklace added to the items that can drop from Takofanes. Something shaped like a bell. Then players can have a Tako Bell
Bug:The Arcane Mage shoulder pads don't appear under the Shoulders category on male toons. You can only find them by doing a costume piece search. They are also missing any materials or diffuse options on males.
I've had more fun with "form up a mob and rotate around the city squashing the undead heroes" than I've ever had with the old version.
That's what I did last year, though we were mostly running crypts, but farming coins meant defeating heroes. I haven't bothered doing any of that this year. Just the dailies. Maybe I play at odd hours but it doesn't seem like the majority of people are doing that either. Every time I log in the Millennium city is full of undead heroes. If I didn't want to participate last year there weren't deadly swarms of zombies all over Westside, this year you really have to plan your roots as Goblin, Johnny Hercules, Firefight, and Eclipse will destroy your level 7-15 character, which isn't fun for new players as Nepht points out.

I don't remember people in my group not getting rewards last year, but then we usually waited for everyone to get there before we started the fight. I even bought teleports specifically for doing this event. I suppose this year would be fine if I followed real heroes around the city so I could leech off of their success, personally I feel once I hit level 40 I should be able to feel like batman rather then Robin and I should be capable of doing these missions on my own, but YMMV.
The few times I was alone a simple message like "Eclipse is up in Zone #3" typed into zone brought immediate help every time. I'm not sure if anyone was timing or recording yesterday but bosses like Johnny Hercules were being defeated in well under 5 minutes or less.

Then you're experiencing the fun I was having last year. Too bad you need to be in a group of Uber Toons to do it. Most people aren't going to get that experience. My shortest fight this year was 5 minutes, Nimbus, and I didn't join that fight with her at 100%

MarkHawkman pointed this out already, might be useful for leveling toons who want auras, especially as those toons can't do any of the Blood Moon content on their own. If they can find some level 40s to follow around, people willing to babysit them through crypts they can enjoy the event, but otherwise, slowly grinding out treat bags is how a new toon unlocks auras.
And how many tokens did you get from those 5 bags?
I have a level 17 character, created specifically for Halloween this year, she has 31 coins from treat bags minus whatever she got when she stumbled across some 40s fighting Goblin. So probably 28 coins for five hours of leveling.

Agreed, but on the bright side, last year people were killing undead heroes and keeping those nasty hoards of zombies out of the Westside.

I've always wanted separate zones of Millennium city free of OV and PvP stuff, and sticking this over powered Blood Moon stuff there would be wonderful for me.

Yup, it's you. For the past 3 nights Zone has been having farm parties. Saturday and Sunday I started them. Yesterday I was busy doing Cosmics so people on Zone started them themselves. Yesterday's kept on going for well about 5 hours.
I have always had issues with Bloodmoon being in Mill City even before the slight difficulty hike.
Problem with it being in Vibora is that there's no obvious reason for the undead heroes (as they're the casualties of the Battle of Detroit). But I'm sure they could come up with some generic resurrections (all the Black Masks, perhaps, although they've already been zombified once).
Totally agree about an out of Mil City event, though - loads of room in Vibora or the Desert for something fun, and parts of Vibora are already choc full of pretty tough monsters.

Strange, just got done talking to a friend on the West coast and they're reporting the same problem. They would probably know better as they actually request teams in zone.
Anyways, 4:40ish on a Tuesday
Zone 1 everyone up except Amazing Grace, Nimbus, Tiger, and Vigil Zone 2 everyone up zone 3 everyone up people fighting Amazing grace, Tako up zone 4 zone 5 everyone up, people fighting amazing grace
Seems like people are farming the popular ones and leaving the others. I was amazed to see Tiger down as he's the one nobody fights usually.
Tako just spawned and the response to the Zone call was... "Can't be bothered, rewards aren't anywhere near as good as hero farming". Three people playing Tako, everyone ignoring Eclipse, who's 50 ft down the street. It's all got a bit cynical again, as it tends to. Am feeling discouraged.

Are you sure we're playing the same game? I mean ya know... Vibora has a ghost ship, or did last year anyways. Desert, Canada, AND Monster island are the staging grounds for BITE!... And one of the BITE perks requires you to go to Lemuria... I think, not 100% sure what submarine you're supposed to kill.
The Tako fight is significantly harder than any of the hero fights, and doesn't seem to have notably better rewards, so I'm not surprised it's ignored.

You just have to defeat any Lemurian sub. Just pick the first one you come to. It unlocks the Sea Wolf perk.

What's BITE? I know about the Werewolf/Hunter PvP thing in Canada but that was dead as a doornail the last time I looked at it (three years ago).
There is a point here, though, and it's that this game is stunningly, awfully, bad at telling the playerbase what's going on. It's difficult to miss Bloodmoon in Mil City (lights! zombies! action!) but half the time you've got no idea what's new or what the current event is. Some numpty on a plinth in Ren Cen is the best you get. It's the same with the Q Warzone - that's not really being shouted from the rooftops, is it? I've actually not played it on live because I've forgotten how to get into it and there's nothing - absolute nada - in the game to remind me.
The Welcome Window? That doesn't mention Bloodmoon. It mentions Shadow of Destruction (talk to some bloke, no location given) and the new Lockbox. It's not the most informative.
When you log in during Bloodmoon, a dialog button appears on screen. You can cancel or read, but information appears.
Also if you go to the desert, Canada, or Monster island there is an NPC there to tell you about BITE!. This NPC is near the jet, and not normally there.... also he has the frantic arm waving emote....

I don't usually go there, post level 40, so that's not relevant. Good old linear champs....
People who don't, don't get to complain "they're not doing anything to let people know!"
Of course they do. We all have low expectations for CO, given the dev time and limited resources available, but that doesn't excuse it. They do something, but not much and not well , to make people excited about events outside of the blindingly obvious ones in Mil City. Ditto older content arcs and missions, leading to all those sawn-off ideas and locations (Gateway, Mechanon, etc) around the place.
Oh and if you bother to talk to Dweomer for anything but the daily mission and looking at the event store Dweomer tells you too.
I think this is the first year I've ever talked to Dwoemer, purely because I saw the name in the forums and thought "who's that?". It's always like that with event contacts; one person on a flat plinth in the middle of a load of other people. They could at least make them a bit more obvious; it's difficult to see who's annoucing the new event and who's just some bloke who's always been there and is now not as important (The Drifter, The Toymaster, Gold Bonus Vendor, etc).
That said I'd never noticed him before, and yet I got oodles of things from the last Bloodmoon (cursed Archetype, loads of Auras and stuff). I never needed to see him, as you can pick up the crypt running missions just by participating when the Undead Heroes spawn. I suspect there are quite a few people who've done the same.
