While co is down lets discuss our favorite powers and why!

Mostly because im new to the game and want to know the basis of powers and what not:)

So far my favorites are electrcity because it looks and sounds cool, and telekenetic for the same reasons why I enjoy electric.

i like the stealth/night warrior powers mixed with almost anything ... is fun to lurk about, sneakin' past minions ... sometimes stopping to listen to their 'conversations' (they say some pretty funny things when they are not fighting for their virtual lives).

No, rebornmonster is a banned player who just talks nonsense out of anger. He doesn't even know what he's talking about half the time.

My favorite powers are Room Sweeper and Force Explosion >:'D

I really like the animations on most of the Earth powers. The one with the big giant rock fist coming out of the ground is goofy, but that isn't necessarily bad. Just a bit dopey for my tastes. The rest of the set is top-shelf, though.

Ice is my favorite OG powerset, animation-wise, and I like using it (even moreso now that it has a proper EU). Great damage.

Favorite individual powers are Energy Wave (awesome VFX, love the adv that pulls everyone in, and the useless-but-shiny adv for the honeycomb shield is class) and Void Shift.

THIS is so true! I never noticed all the personality they give to just bland NPCs and Mobs until Night Warrior came along. I saw a set of guys spraying graffiti on the wall. Sometime the goons complain about their boss. It's actually pretty funny, when you can eavesdrop on the conversations.

My favorite are the Fire powers because, you know, FIRE!

They do good damage and do not bother expending energy on pointless effects other than damage. However, they also have advantages that can add other effects, like slow or KB, if you like that sort of thing. They have good defense debuffs, so you can do even more damage. At level 40 with good gear, mine can maintain a good 3200 DPS forever and did not have to sacrifice HP for that. Also, that is DPS is AOE (which admittedly doesn't really come in handy in end-game, but is still nice when needed).

Fire is great for leveling because of all the AOE. You can burn groups down quickly.

They have fun SFX. Sometimes I just go all Fireball in fights because BOOM BOOM BOOM. The stance for Conflag is awesome. Okay, the fact that it locks you is sometimes a pain, but it does mean I don't have to work at moving and firing at the same time.

Also, it's fun that practically nobody else uses it. In Rampages or Cosmics, there might be one other Fire, but there are usually none. Being unique is cool.

I also like the Force set, but you know, only when soloing, or playing vs unknockable.

The Earth set has fun SFX, but it's power is weak and it has too many attacks that do essentially the same thing.

Ice Wall is another of my faves. SFX is cool, a little root/hold and some decent damage at 100' range, what else could you want?

Oh Gatlin Gun. So fun to watch those numbers float up almost faster than my vid card can render them. I wish it was better, but eh, what you gonna do? In regular content, it is fun to open up from 100' and watch the mobs just run down the line of death.

I like whatever powers make my character like I imagined them. There's no power I'll say "naw, that sucks" as long as it fits the vision. I LIKE 'EM ALL! :D

Im more of a fan of ice and elec myself but that fire snap ability takes the cake man, I was so amazed by that lol.

I used to like tanking until I played FFXIV, now i prefer healer builds, so i spare one attack power and prefer the energy rifle since it can shoot fast and stop fast. allows me to give some help attacking when my team is healed, but quickly return to healing if foes break through my shield barriers. Balances out nice.

That's a good choice for a healer, since it doesn't interfere with whatever origin your powers have. "My powers are all non-aggressive, so I picked up this gun at Super-Wallmart..." :)

Its hard to say a favorite
because with a lot of toons, you will always have that favorite power for him
well for instance for my behe, defensive combo (only because of the animation)
for my savage would be antagonize, so cool looking anim and good stats of this power
for my specialist would be "spin and give bullets to everyone power that i don't remember how was called" (that or Bullet beatdown, also cool looking)
for Alfa would be UR, BIG roar for a big dragon ;)
    and so on...

It's really hard to pick a single power, but I'd have to say Invulnerability. To me, it feels like the difference between "I can solo this no problem" vs "omg halp I need a group!"

    Runners up are:
    - Ebon Void (favorite block, no contest)
    - Lifedrain (obvious)
    - Dark Transfusion (goodbye energy management)
    - Ebon Ruin (for the shadow summon and its healing at R3, mainly)
    - Void Shift (stylish!)
    - Pulse Beam Rifle (highly-practical, no-cheese ability)
    - Conflagrate/Lightning Storm/Avalanche (mass destruction!)
    - Thunderclap (speaks for itself)
    - Force Cascade/Ion Cannon (amazing alpha strikes)
    - Annihilate/Haymaker (fooooore!)
    - Laser Sword (so hard to make it energy-friendly, but it's stylish and I still love it)
    - Lead Tempest (so much range)
    - Force Shield (so much energy)
    - Conviction/BCR (them self heals)
    - Rebirth (practically mandatory--save a star, don't release)

...and more, but I'm done for now. :)
(Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

Personally I want to see some factual evidence about rewards from all vendor trash my friend has gotten some nice stuff doing missions, it helps with how efficient you are in missions like allot of games rng is, and of course difficulty. And lets not forget missions also give rewards.

    Being unique is cool.

Anyways, I don't particularly have a favorite since I appreciate diversity, But for the Game the only reason I would even consider it is because of functionality and aesthetics that I might find more appealing then others, like Shadow Embrace, dark energy whipping around and striking them with fear is nice. :3

    Sorcery

Always loved "magical heroes", and the three toons I use the most are all super-sorcerers.

The sorcery trees look like there was a lot more planned that they just never got to. Maybe there will be some sorcery changes when the new Sorcery AT comes out that will do a thing.

Ebon Sorcery lets you summon a little demon guy, and Radiant Sorcery lets you summon a angel thing. That is about the only real good thematic difference to be found.

Actually I took a deeper look last night and there are other differences between them like the powers and advantages but allot do carry the same type of powers as well like pillars.

If we're talking powersets, I guess....Shadow is my favorite? Despite the edgelord theme, it's full of really practice powers that suit my playstyle nicely. Defensive, self-healing, the works.

They try to be different, but they're all pretty similar. Here's the main differences:

    - Slotted passive aura
    - Block enhancer advantage associated with the chosen slotted passive aura
    - Circles
    - Sigils
    - Summoned ritual pet

Other than that, there's a few powers some have access to that others don't, but they're not really memorable themewise.

When you compare them to how many set-specific powers other power sets have, scant is an understatement. Imagine if all of the projector trees shared 50% of their powers?

Don't need to add but I want to, powers that differentiates are like the passives, circles, pets and a few utilities like Vala's Light/Arcane sorcery, otherwise the rest is generic Eldritch powers.
