Last year, it was the event that caught people by surprise.

The demand was there for more so we are doing it again

It's DawnCon II

A comic con style event to be held on the same weekend as the San Diego Comic Con Saturday July 23rd from 2pm to 8pm server time. It will be held in the Champions HQ.

Last year we went three hours. People wanted more so we are going for six hours. Music provied by DJ's Steel and Diamond D of thecaperadio.com. Guests from last year will return as well as new ones. Information of guests can be found either at paragondawn.com or the facebook event page.

There will various contests offered as well. Stay tuned here for info as it comes.

Now an outreach to players.

Last year, groups who had cc's on that day felt slighted. We dont't want that. We are doing this to help build the community even better. If you are on of these groups, please contact @themadvyking so we can help tell people of your cc.

So if you want to go to a comic con style event where you dont pay ten dollars for a soda, then come to DawnCon II.

Right this thread needs stickyed till the event and even a PW blog mention. As a long time Cryptic fan this whole idea has me hyped. When you think about it theres been a Cryptic super hero game in one form or another for 12 years now that needs shouted from the rooftops.

No, it's not a RP thing. It's more like a convention ... it's meeting other players, people who work in comic business (yep, we have the one or other), .... and it's about dressing like your favorite comic/anime/TV/ ... character. And we'll have music by The Cape Radio ... but no cookies ...

well, cape radio is well over 10 years old. they started in CoH, and are (as they call it) game agnostic now, broadcasting from CO, Paragon Chat, Minecraft, ...

Update time.

We got a growing list of guests on the Facebook event page but this one is different.

We will be again doing as one of the mini contests our version of Jeopardy and coming back to defend her title as returning champion is Delphine of Doomsday Brigade.

Can she keep the title as champion? Come to DawnCon II to find out.

UPDATE!

We do plan as one of a mini contests a costume contest. Host to be named once confirmed by said proposed player. The themes will be at moment: Superhero, Gaming, Anume, Cartoons and one other.

Also the return of "Where in the game is Galena Wainwright " Find her with clues provided. Porposed plan on for low levels and one that could be ANYWHERE in game. Don't get too comgy with MC zone, you may have to make sure your toon can go in all zones.

As like last year, once the itinerary is fully planned, we will post it along with map of Champs HQ of where certaon people will be.

Mini update (and this time typing while not drowsy :P )

The extra catagory in the will be "Beginner Superhero": Let's be honest, not everyone has the money to get the ultra gear if it is the first day on the superhero job. So dress as how one who would dress before the fame and accolades.

As i said before I know other groups will have cc's . If you're reading this and belong to one of these groups, please contact @themadvyking so we can make sure your cc will do its usual appearance of contest attendees.

Here it is.

One of our guests, Pogoman of SaveCOH Podcast will air a special "Dawncon Eve" show Friday July 22nd at 6pm server time. I will be special guest on it so you can ask questions during it in chat or call in on Skype. I will post the link before airtime.

Now to describe the events

Where in the Game is Kathleen Ryan?: Two rounds for a two man team. One half will be in Champions HQ as I give them clues where she is. The other will search the game to find her using the clues. Prep a 40 just in case (maybe.....mayne not) she can be anywhere in game.

Costume contest: The catagories will be superhero, gaming, anime, cartoons and "Superhero's first day on the job". Let's face it, the first day, on average, the new superhero will not have expensive spandex or high tech armor. So let's see the budget costumes.

Jeopardy: Last year's champion Delphine of Doomsday Brigade comes back to defend her title. Who will challenge her? Will she continue or someone else will win? Will somebody make sure Kathleen doesn't shout out the answers? People said this was fun to watch so we are doing it again.

Note the last hour plus is for partying. This is for other supergroups who will have CC's in game. Our event is for the players and we don't want slight others in process. Pictures will be taken during the event as well as music all event courtesy of DJ's Steel and Diamond D of Cape Radio.

And the challenge is back, If we form a zone 2 of Champs HQ a special "Concert" will happen. (Sorry we already did Squishy Bear in a tutu last year :P )

I gotta give Jerlock props. He was some stiff competition in the hide and seek.

Also Tsin'xing discovered that Nepht and Kagami are about 3 ft tall.

For the CC, I used Tanya Wilson.

Also, there were some funny moments with people experimenting with the new Draysha device. Both Jerlock and Turnick demonstrated that you can kill yourself with it at will.

Turnick woke up with a splitting headache though.

Everyone had fun. Not as big as a turnout as we had hoped but it's hotter than the blazes outside, summertime, people are doing stuff, (pokemon go), and what not. We had a few guests either back out or no show but the whole thing went down great. Mad Vyking did a great job in organizing and keeping the wheels turning.
