- The Negative Ions FX are now less resource intensive.
- Players who owned the following powers prior to January 16th will receive a respec: Strafing Run, Ascension, Manipulator, Skarn's Bane, Celestial Cleansing.

- Gadroon Force Tech: Now also applies 50% energy over 15 seconds.
- Corrected an issue where Paintball Gun was not working.
- Updated Savage Harpoons description so it's no longer a wall of text.
- Beneficent Construct's healing has been adjusted to not linger after the Construct has faded.

Additional Changes
- Made it so Psionic Flame aura takes up fewer resources.
- Updated Vendor names for Snake Bucks, Silver and Gold recognition.

Neat :). I especially like the lowered Heroic prices(still a bit much, but, at least it's not 200! :)).
Buffing everything to stupid high levels and nerfing everything to piss poor levels yields the same results, but not the same community reactions.

    Very nice update!

    Release Notes for FC.31.20151210a.24

    - The Negative Ions FX are now less resource intensive.
    - Players who owned the following powers prior to January 16th will receive a respec: Strafing Run, Ascension, Manipulator, Skarn's Bane, Celestial Cleansing.

I am especially pleased to hear this ^.

However a few powers have been left out and they are from Telepathy, namely, Ego Sleep & Mental Storm. These were also negatively adjusted, I think it would only be fair to include these two as well.

It is also VERY nice to know that such a thing can be done.

Is anyone planning to run this updated lair soon? If so, please inbox me, I'd be interested to join in.

    - The Negative Ions FX are now less resource intensive.

Now deal with chilled and clinging flames and it might actually be possible to look at the boss in Lemurian Invasion (the fight will still suck for other reasons, mind you).

Hopefully that respec is being given to each character affected by the changes.

What harm was being done by offering permanent versions of Triumphant Recovery (which already only has 4 charges, if you're going with a real time limit then remove the charges) and the Teleport to Ren Center devices?

    Also prices are still absurd.

Lowered the cost of a power that unlocks account wide and increase the cost of a device that is usable for only one character? Discouraging players from using multiple characters on their account is pretty much confirmed.

I like the new Negative Ions much better than the old ones.

I really like these changes. Thank you for listening to feedback, even on the pricing of some items.

YES. when powers are changed respecs should be a thing. thank you for not continuing a disturbing trend we had seen started of not granting respecs.

I'm concerned with the phrasing, they said players will receive a respec, not each character affected by this change will get a respec. Given how they are bound and determined to alienate those with a lot of alts, I wouldn't be surprised to see them repeating what they did with the limited time respec they offered last time.

Can we have a yes or no on if Servitor Serum is going to still be available somewhere (and where if it is)?

-Servitor Serum is STILL missing from the silver champions rec vendor [if you're not going to add it back you could at the very least say so, instead of leaving us hanging]

-"Respec" information seems to be rather...thin on the ground, not explained very well.

-Outside of the aforementioned serum issue and Respec confusion, there nothing I to complain about, however there are still three things I would very much like to see in this patch/the next patch.
    • Overdrive getting its scaling fixed
    • PFF getting a fix & (small) buff
    • Uzi SMG skin for pistols

Just ran the lair with a few testers...I'll leave them to comment on what happened and I'll chip in where necessary.

    But I will say:

More work is required before this hits LIVE. This is a multifaceted update and it would be great if we had a few more weeks to test.

Clingling Flames for sure. I always have to turn my camera away from that boss and any other incredibly large enemies.

Because the purple figures were rewards for participating in a special beta event (Mini-Mega Destroid) and a special head-start weekend only event (Doctor Silverback and Bug Hunter), and the gold figures were pre-order exclusive rewards (Steampunk and Grond) and exclusive rewards for participating in a limited-time referral program (Sapphire), respectively.

Leaving them as they were intended, which is as a reward for people who have been with the game since the beginning, isn't "hiding" them, it's reciprocating the loyalty displayed by your subscribers.

I think you forgot to highlight the LIMITED part of what you emboldened.

It does clearly state that these changes only affect the "Level-up Supply Kits" devices.

But making them only last a week is weird (but I guess I've never noticed them go away much tbf)

    - Players who owned the following powers prior to January 16th will receive a respec: Strafing Run, Ascension, Manipulator, Skarn's Bane, Celestial Cleansing.

Will this be a per-character respec, or simply one for each player account?

    - Updated descriptions on Triumphant Recovery 4-Pack Limited, Boost Enhancer Limited and Teleport to Ren Center Device Limited to state that as limited versions of the devices, they only last a week. These are the versions of the devices granted to players in Level-up Supply Kits.

Will this change be retroactive to already-owned items? Will my characters' current Teleport to Ren Center Device disappear after a week if he got it from a Level-up Supply Kit a year ago?

For that matter, will device changes (like Thunderbolt Wand, Beneficent Construct, etc.) be retroactive? Will old items update to the newer versions?

    Seriously?

Nope, I didn't miss them turning those particular rewards into a marketing ploy. What makes it even worse is the Triumphant recovery pack was already limited by charges.

Am I right in understanding that the teleport to ren center you get at 25 is now going to be limited?? The other stuff whatever but if you are making the tp limited that is just insane. If this is what is happening please re think it! Most mmos give you a tp to main areas for free, some with at least 30min cool downs, which is better then no tp at all. I am feeling very confused cause I was told it would be a 4 second charge time and that it wouldn't expire but now this makes it sound like it will go away in a week. I am not going to buy a perm tp to ren center, mainly after I've had this one for so long, which again as I stated in another post, I thought was just the game being nice like most MMOS in giving a free tp to the main area. If I am wrong then I'll be happy to hear it. If I am not then please I beg of you as someone who loves this game do not take this away, it's one of the things I enjoy, it allows me to join up with friends or hurry to cc's if I am out somewhere leveling.

Also I hope the game isn't going away from us having alts, I enjoy alts and this is the only game out there that lets me go wild.

Added Note: The one in the zen store for the tp to ren cent (which i hate that I even thinking on this) doesn't say if its account wide. If its not then... even a bigger no and all thoughts of a possible buying it is out the window, I have too many alts and not getting it for everyone single one.

For anyone wondering: The way the [Teleport to Ren Center Device Limited] is set up on the PTS at the moment is for any of the devices dropped from a level 30 box, the device has a 1 week time limit. Current Teleport to Ren Center devices seem unaffected (so if you already have one, it won't expire in a week). All versions of the device now have a 4.5 second charge time.

I think making the devices temporary is a bad idea. It is such a staple in the game already, most people just assume they are going to get them. Furthermore, and more importantly, there is no way to earn them in game. At the very least, if the devices are going to be temporary, there should be a way to get enough tokens (Until preferably) that you could buy one.

The Z-Store TP to ren center is per character. Changing either of the devices from the supply kit is a bad idea. The Triumphant recovery already has a limit of how many times it can be used.

On another note; one of the purple lockbox teleports zips you to the closest jet, so this may be even more useful than the rencen jumper? Who knows? But it's an alternative.

Thanks for listening to the feedback on the vendor changes. It's not perfect, but at least we were met half-way.

    - Please, please, please consider toning down the graphics on the other debuffs. I know a few have mentioned this already, so just add my voice to list.
    - TP to rencen change isn't awesome. But I'm considering it balanced by the fact that new TP devices to other areas have been added. Again, we're exchanging on thing for another.

As far as my fellow community members go:
Last year, I speculated that if you don't like change, you might want to take a break from CO for a bit. Well, it feels like I was right. This game is changing and rapidly so. So just remember to take a deep breath. This is probably far from the last of sweeping changes we'll see. Remember, the new dev team has to fix a game that's been neglected for YEARS. So it will seem radical to us, because as a community we've become used to long periods of no development. There's good and bad to things changing. But expecting a game to go nearly a decade and stay the same, isn't realistic.

The scr-change leaves a sour taste.
I'm expert at burning bridges with people so I'll just keep to myself until that taste expires, and if I'm still feeling the same way, I'll just take that break.

That particular change and certain things said just make me want to scream at people.
At the very same time this is not my game, and despite having paid all that money for it, it will never be.

Sony tried to make drastic changes to a game called Star Wars Galaxies, they called it the new gamer experience. Those supposed fixes did more harm then they did good, and in the end were part of the reason why LucasArts chose to give the rights to the IP to Bioware/EA.

There is a lesson to be learned from Sony's failure, while change is important to a mmo. You have to becareful of what changes you make.

There is nothing good about the absurd price changes, there is nothing good about turning a reward into a marketing ploy. Just because the game was neglected doesn't mean we have to accept whatever change they try to make with out question.

Feedback generally tends to work better when it lacks an accusatory tone. Just something to think about.

Never played SWG, but I heard about that change from someone who played it religiously. I also understand they introduced some type of "wings" into the game about the same time it flunked.. hehe.... I thought it a funny coincidence.

@devs, now about those updates, let's rethink the changes to Triumph Recovery Pack and Teleport to Recen. I think you guys underestimate the importance of these items. Especially in PUG events when healing/rezz is missing from a team. I do not build trinity characters, I do not build to the nth percentile to maximize dmg. It kinda sucks when you get killed in Cybermind cause the yellow colour didn't register and you have to sit out the rest of the Alert. I always ensure my toons have at least 1 recovery pack on them, even at lvl 40. Can't do that anymore with your update though.

Or maybe you do know the value and want us to work/pay for the new teleport items instead. And what is replacing the recovery pack you've limited to a duration of 7 real-time not even game time days?

I'm not to sure if the well-oiled/build focused team-up sessions you see happening on the forums for testing is giving a misleading idea of what is happening in game. I don't think these type of teams exist that much in game. I think these are the vocal few.

Teleport- ok so I spend a bit more time running.
    Triumphant recovery device
    so;
    Servitor serum removed from Vendor.
level up recovery device changed to 1 week- great for players with not much time. One weekend I level up and get it,next weekend it vanishes.
These two changes leave us with one option.

Hmm, I wonder what the aim of these changes could be?

My FF will all get a self res and the AT's will just have to take their chances.

Mmm, The Entitlement is strong with this one, have you ever considered that most players haven't even heard of CO til X-amount of years ago? I've only been around since May 2012, so I never had a chance and I wouldn't know CO existed if my mate didn't invite me to play back then, so it's nice to give an option, and besides AF's are Vanity items, didn't even realize that was Exclusive.

Want to get to know me a bit better, Click me and take a read of My Dragon Profile Page, it's a bit dated but still relevant.

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

    - The Negative Ions FX are now less resource intensive.

Now deal with chilled and clinging flames and it might actually be possible to look at the boss in Lemurian Invasion (the fight will still suck for other reasons, mind you).

Okay, let's talk about your sense of entitlement in thinking that, just because you don't have them, you deserve to be able to get them. You had just as much of an opportunity to participate in the programs that lead to the possession of those action figures as anyone else, but you weren't around, and that was the intent - to reward the people who were.

I don't have a sense of entitlement. I am entitled to them. I earned them, as did others who were there and participated in the events and programs I mentioned previously. And, until now, they remained as a thank you from Cryptic/the Champions staff to players who have been here since the beginning, for sticking around and having supported the game. Whether they're vanity items, or not, is completely irrelevant.

Your sense is entitlement is not due your having exclusive content, it's due to your desire for it to remain such.

You are welcome to correct me if I am mistaken, but I don't believe Cryptic at any point said their exclusives would remain so indefinitely.

There have been a lot of exclusive items released by video game companies over the last six years that no longer remain so. Heck, I have a traffic cone hat I got as part of one of the earliest PTS load tests, and that was released as part of a costume set six months later.

These things happen, and while I know there is a desire to take them personally, it's important to put them in proper perspective. You had these items for six years, that's great. Now Cryptic is going to monetize them, and use the funds to improve the game you saw fit to invest in all those years ago.

However a few powers have been left out and they are from Telepathy, namely, Ego Sleep & Mental Storm. These were also negatively adjusted, I think it would only be fair to include these two as well.

Not just those. Ego Sprites got changed from ranged to melee which is a major alteration of playstyle.
