Not even in the remotest sense. Though it has been six years and that Qularr mothership would have been broken down and dismantled by now. They can finally move the Qularr thing to some place else more pertinent, because honestly, the ship is a blight on the landscape, especially now if the tutorial is being pushed forward in the timeline to the point that it is the extreme past.
It could be dragged far west, and there could be constant explosions and power effects going off around it. Then we can have an alert where it is being pulled out to a deep sea research platform and every gang in the city wants a piece of it so we have to get around all over the top of it and beat guys off of tug boats, shoot down swarming robots and other fun things.
Snap Snap Cryptic, it's Tuesday and there's work to do!
Oh wait, isnt' that a lake? Deep Lake Research Platform? Hmm. Maybe they are going toe it by air with a hovercarrier/cargo type ships. Like this but on a crazy sci-fi scale, or using multiple smaller vehicles.
Now it's getting too complicated.
Aha! Nuke it from orbit after the tutorial.
"The remaining Qularr fled in confusion, >glitch sounds< and nuked their defeated Mothership from orbit".
BOOOOM, All the characters in the original scene that were cheering "GTFO Qulaar!" get knocked back toward the camera, Defender and the hero/team turn to bones aura.

Technician NPC: "Damn busted again!"
PLUTO: It seems you've found a bug, perhaps the next assistant will be able to replicate it. You've been a great help, I've cleared you for Level Six Access, you may proceed to Millennium City Powerhouse for further training.
That other lady, points to the podium whenever someone spawns and says "Put them on the grid."
It'll be great.
Hmm that still leaves it where it was...hmm.
Aha, the reverse of SkyCommand, some Qularr come to relcaim the ship with their tractor beaming mothership recovery vessels and we have to take them out, they'll be like the skiffs in that movie with the return of the cyborg wizard from the desert planet, with a half dozen bad guys armed to the teeth and room to fight.
The tractor beams can lift players who fall off the skiffs onto the hull of the mothership and don't have travel powers to lift them up, like a cyborg wizard fake falling into a tentacle tongue beast pit.

Personally they should move it to the hanger/giganto pool in the Until building. keep the mission entrance and call it good.
If they were going for time passing we would have major game wide updates every year. I still consider the time between the Qularr invasion and every bit of content up to Steel Crusade to be within a matter months not including down time between missions that would be required of a hero that needs rest.
We don't have enough meaningful content to suggest several years have passed. Everything we have been getting is just filling the blanks. We're still in 2011 for all I'm concerned.
Besides, why would they dismantle a fully functional alien ship?

Except, that's exactly what this new tutorial is about, a large amount of time has passed since the Qularr attack of 2009. How much time is anyone's best guess, but we are talking at least a year or more since Ravenswood is using it as a training tutorial. I seriously doubt a few months have happened since the Qularr invasion to Mechanon, even in the world of super heroes that's a bit ridiculous since most major villainous plot lines usually take place over the span of weeks or months in their given time frame.
When I went through the new tutorial, I found it to be O.K. I was glad that Foxbat was still in there, but was not happy that Reggie the Cat was not there to be rescued. I know it sounds campy, but rescuing the cat is something that every Super must do at some point in their career, so it stands to reason that it should remain included in the Tutorial. I did also miss the Mayor's daughter missions, but am willing to give those up. Just bring back Reggie ...... here kitty, kitty, kitty ...........please.
I'd also like to see Reggie the Cat return, for two reasons;
a; It teaches new players to get missions from items.
b; It leads into a later mission in MC with the crazy old cat lady thanking the player for rescuing her cat. [and then leading you into an ambush]
The B part of the mission still works even with the tutorial being a holo-mission, as she's a Crazy Cat Lady who probably assumes ANY hero she meets is the one who rescued Reggie.

I really couldn't put this any better myself. Reggie needs to stay. I'd also argue that the escort mission needs to stay, possibly with a pickup mission from the mayor's daughter.
If they just gave a little kitten as a pet, it would make players happy. They've had five years to do this, and what four tutorial revisions?
Giving every person who does the mission a kitty action figure in the tutorial and telling them how to activate action figures might actually interest people in CO's most glaring example of wasted development time and effort.
Just change old Whats her face's speech bubble to "Oh he will be safer with you, you keep him." , she blows a kiss and a heart aura is initiated on her and the cat for a few seconds.
Think of the children.
Maybe he's a computer glitch and turns into a random killer cyber cat when you activate him. yeah.
A players personal ball of yarn.
Or old Whats her face can be a super hero in disguise and clicking the Reggie item summons Nana-Man and her trusty Qularr Mutagen Enhanced Kitten Reggie as sidekicks who appear in a flash singing "Hey hey hey what's going on?"
It'll be great.
There used to be a cat faced action figure, but they gave the job of the CM it belonged to away to volunteers.
Is the body cold enough to inherit this item?
The "Student Buddies" and "Cat-astrophe" missions have apparently been removed. I assume this is intentional. However...
BUG: The "Save The City" perk can no longer be completed.
Yes, I noticed that immediately. It's one thing to miss the perk because you don't care or forgot about it, but intentionally removing something that is REQUIRED for the perk is JUST. PLAIN. WRONG. It is truly irritating, especially to people who want to complete as many perks as they can.

I don't get why they were removed anyways. Both taught elements of the game; one was an escort mission and one was a click item in inventory to start mission. Sure they can be handled better, the escort should probably be phased per person thing instead of whatever person gets it first dealie, while the cat carrier mission perhaps could, like others have suggested, give a kitty action figure as a reward. Only problem with this is they would have to retro it to all the people that have done it in the past. I know I would be a bit peeved if I couldn't get that AF, since I like collecting a lot of things in game.
Student Buddies was the Escort Mission where you helped the college student get back to the tent by the Mayor & his daughter. Required, along with the Reggie mission, for the Perk Badge.
They either need to put the missions back into the Tutorial, or arrange for them to be available in the "Live" world later, so that you can complete them and earn the Perk. Failing that, they need to remove "Save the City" as an available perk from the list.
This is only one of many pieces that are still clipping on PTR from whatever was changed from the last patch.
Bug: Light tech armor 3 with the breast slider reduced to the minimium. Setting that slider to the max seems to make it better, but that's not a good solution.

I like the idea of an RP area in Ravenswood, unfortunately, you guys didn't create one, you just planted some buildings there that don't seem to have entrances. Or did I miss the entrances?
I like the idea of placing the old tutorial in a "new" simulation, it almost feels like you're trying to make us feel that time passes in the game, instead of trying to make us think that its been 2010 for the past 5 years.
I know it's kinda hard to keep up with these days because they don't so much archive these anymore....but I think the conversation you're seeking is here.
Bug: Captain Smirnoff in Westside now has a VO that mentions Qularr while in the middle of the prison break. The text reads "escaped prisoners" but the VO is from the tutorial.
Can we get a reason as to why the default interaction key was changed to F? Is picking up still Z? Is picking up and interacting going to be two different things in the Options window? If this is how it is than that is completely fine since that fixes picking up objects when I'm trying to talk to an NPC.
Wasn't the F key defaulted to Follow? What happens to that?
It was and has been that way ever since I started playing the game. Now I have to CHANGE THIS FREAKIN' KEY BACK TO THE PREVIOUS FORMAT EVER TIME! LITERALLY EVERY TIME. Even on a new character.. even if i had previously save a UI spec. It still changes the Follow Target Key...

I noticed the same issue with the dress suits and ties. Apparently something Cryptic did under the hood made female GEOS all wonky.
