Well, seems the dumb tattoos are part of it,but these screens have a bit of promise for authenticity.

Yeah, they still have "Damaged" tattooed across his forehead. Jhonen was right - he's trying too hard.

Looks like I can skip this one...

It's indicative of a certain attitude, an attitude also displayed by the Squad's group shot from earlier where it's all grim'n'gritty outfits with lots of leather and overcoats, and not much in the way of costumes. It all speaks to me of a production that feels comic books are silly and the source material needs to be ignored so they can make a "cool" movie. You know, kind of like what the trailer for Dawn of Justice looks like.

Marilyn Manson doesn't look happy enough to be the Joker.

Joker looks like an idiot is kind of Joker's whole deal... this is just an updated version of the silly clown no one takes seriously...

donno if the movie itself will suck or not...but the Joker looking stupid is hardly an indication of that.

To be honest, Joker is in general poor an repeatable villain relying only on his crazy shock factor.
They fit with Batman just right, both one-dimensional, unchanging cartoon cutouts.

I don't think any actor can really break Joker as a character. There's nothing to break.

    Yes.

Joker's good at what he's doing.
But he's not terribly multi-layered and it will take a very bad actor to spoil this character.

Megatron isn't officially turning into a P-38 gun since his G1 version. Not counting his Masterpiece toy for collectors.

Gun safety laws regarding toys are a bit of a @#$%!

Hiding an entire Abrams tank into your pants would be... I don't think Joker has that much of a hammerspace.

Can't say I miss his gun alt mode, though. Never liked how every other 'Con commander had a cool alt mode but he was stuck as a some whimsical obsolete Walther.

No longer supported in official fiction since eighties. :)

Even his latest "G1" Hasbro design is IDW inspired.

    LeaderMegatron2015.jpg

    That's officially G1 Megatron for year 2015.

As official as newest costumes for any Cap Marvel or Spider Woman.

This one was also Hasbro idea:

    TF_MTMTE_28_cvrA.jpg

So this Magneto also eventually joins X-Men.

It was stated in interviews that Autobot Megatron was suggested by Hasbro employee. That's official.
The same as Hasbro mandating IDW ideas.

And hard to blame Hasbro for giving their approval, since IDW was the best idea that happened to this franchise since a very long time. Finally characters were given more development and agendas than being forever stuck in their old bios.

Autobot Megatron is the best story arc this character ever had.

This is real G1 Megatron for now.
Sunbow cartoon is largely discontinued and complaining about it or not accepting it has as much sense as expecting that old Spiderman cartoon will be of any importance for Marvel these days.

Or that like Magneto was given any character development since his Fantastic Four cartoon episode.

I also remember Sunbow cartoon. It was old, trite, full of animation errors and written for ten years old. Save for nostalgia it has no real value for me now.

I always found that original Megatron idea to be a bit undignified. I mean, you're the all-powerful leader of this band of ultravillain robots who turn into jets and spacecraft and who knows what-all - and then you transform, and you're this silly little pistol that can't even move around unless someone else picks you up and uses you.

Pretty much why it was bad idea. It means that he functionally had no alt mode (like, literally, he's rarely seen in his alt mode - two or three times in cartoon and maybe as often in Marvel's books).

What's the point of a transforming robot with no altmode? O_o

When Galvatron was transforming into cannon, it was a sign that he means business and it's better to run.

Also, Megatron was, always and in every of his incarnation, an insufferable control freak. Weird choice of a mode to be always dependent.

But that's hardly Bob Budiansky or Jim Shooter's fault. They simply had a toy with no bio and had to write a villain out of it.
