haha reminds me of the first time i drew on my tablet.. it took a few months to fully get used to it.

Fun times. If you're going to get a drawing program, try and get used to one at a time i guess so it's not too over whelming.

I only use paint tool sai, photoshop.. one day i'll learn to use that. Sketchbook pro looks interesting though.

Very impressive! And using only your pulse and a mouse! :D

I don't have a tablet and lack the money for one. I drew that with my mouse on my desktop.

Will look into getting one of those stylus pad peripherals if I can find a decent one under 200 dollars.

I bought a Wacom Bamboo for $150 (in Argentina in 2012) I guess you can get it in USA for no more than $80.

Have you tried Inkscape? I find it easier to use with a mouse than classic drawing like Sketchbook Pro (I got the Android version), it is a totally different aproach to standard drawing but it is not hard and you get good results (if you cheat a bit). Of course with Sketbook you ll get better results than Inkscape when you get enough practice.
I made with Inkscape my Avatar and all my signs.

Basic gear like Wacom Bamboo should be within your desired price range.

Oh, and avoid tablets from manufacturers who are building them with power cells in stylus (pretty much everyone but Wacom), as stylus ends too heavy (it matters for your wrists in a long run).
Same as avoid second hand tablets. Plenty of used second hand electronic devices are just fine, but graphic tablets do wear mechanically when used.

Really, having a graphic tablet is more important than having a paid drawing application. You have tablet, you can do more even with completely free programs than having Sketchbook Pro but not having a tablet.
