Somebody in-game asked me about my build, so here it is:

PowerHouse (Link to this build)

Name: Gnarl_3

Archetype: Freeform

Super Stats:
Level 6: Strength (Primary)
Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

Talents:
Level 1: The Devastator
Level 6: Physical Conditioning
Level 9: Quick Recovery
Level 12: Relentless
Level 15: Bodybuilder
Level 18: Boundless Reserves
Level 21: Paramilitary Training

Powers:
Level 1: Bludgeon
Level 1: Eruption (Rank 2, Crippling Challenge)
Level 6: Cleave (Rank 2, Rank 3, Challenging Strikes)
Level 8: Way of the Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 14: Enrage
Level 17: Bountiful Chi Resurgence (Resurgent Reiki)
Level 20: Annihilate (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Molecular Self-Assembly
Level 26: Aggressor
Level 29: Fluidity
Level 32: Brimstone (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
Level 38: Resurgence (Rank 2)

Travel Powers:
Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2, Rank 3, Versatility)
Level 35: Superjump

Specializations:
Strength: Swole (3/3)
Strength: Aggression (2/2)
Strength: Brutality (2/2)
Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
Warden: Tenacious (2/2)
Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
Vindicator: The Rush of Battle (3/3)
Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Gearing is Legion's primary and Vigilante secondaries. The build does not demand super high-powered mods, either, I am running with mostly L6's and L7's.

Primary:
Legion's Gloves of Precision, 2x L7 CON,2x L7 Gamblers
Legions Breastplate of Agility, 2x L6 STR, 2xL& Gamblers
Legion's Helmet of Efficiency, 1xL6 REC, 1xL7CON, 1x L7 Gamblers, 1x L7 Prism

Secondary:
Vigilante's Critical Belt
Vigilante's Blostering Bracers (stupidest typoed name ever)
Vigilante's Hastened Eyepiece

Devices: (All this is optional)
Spark Shield, Humidity Dome, Nightmare Generator, Necrullitic Elixir (for when I'm feelin' lazy)

How It Works: Run up and hit stuff. The Dome is always up by default, and if you just punch powers, it works.

Slightly more info:

Eruption is your block breaker/taunter. If a big bad has activated his dodge, hit them with this. This will also set off your MSA for some End. Note, this isn't exactly a tank, but it's not wimpy, either.

Cleave is your main attack, you can literally do nothing but this and Bountiful Chi and the build runs fine.

Annihilate is your boss killer. Charge up, fire, charge up, fire, over and over.

Spam conviction for health, push BCR for more health and end, hit aggressor and ego surge for moar damage. If something clobbers you, hit resurgence and then pop the Necrullitic elixir.

Screw blocking. No justice gear, either, the grind for that crap sucks.

It's really not complicated.

Have fun!

Edit: Oh! This version has fluidity. It generally sucks. The 'live' version of the build removes that dog and puts in Masterful Dodge instead. Remember: Fluidity SUCKS.

Ok, that was an old version Here's the current version:

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

    Name: Gnarl_4

    Archetype: Freeform

    Super Stats:
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

    Talents:
    Level 1: The Devastator
    Level 6: Physical Conditioning
    Level 9: Quick Recovery
    Level 12: Relentless
    Level 15: Bodybuilder
    Level 18: Boundless Reserves
    Level 21: Paramilitary Training

    Powers:
    Level 1: Bludgeon
Level 1: Eruption (Rank 2, Crippling Challenge)
Level 6: Cleave (Rank 2, Rank 3, Challenging Strikes)
Level 8: Way of the Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 14: Enrage
Level 17: Bountiful Chi Resurgence (Resurgent Reiki)
    Level 20: Annihilate (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 23: Molecular Self-Assembly
    Level 26: Aggressor
    Level 29: Masterful Dodge
    Level 32: Brimstone (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
    Level 38: Resurgence (Rank 2)

    Travel Powers:
Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2, Rank 3, Versatility)
    Level 35: Flight

    Specializations:
    Strength: Swole (3/3)
    Strength: Aggression (2/2)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Tenacious (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
Vindicator: The Rush of Battle (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Sorry about that! Not a LOT of difference, and the gear was right. My bad!

Oh, and Brimstone: This is a great opener. With Enrage stacked all the way this will hit for as much as 5000-ish total, half fire and half bludgeoning, plus it stacks Enrage like crazy, not that getting rage stacks is hard with this build.

I took Focused Strikes in Vindicator to make this a little stronger against bosses, but honestly, the Mass Destruction is probably better in crowds, to boost cleave and Brimstone. Not that either of them need it, this build does lots of DPS as long as you keep hitting stuff.

Isn't there a lot of grinding for 3 Vigilantes? I think it would take me about as long to get a full set of Justice Gear as it would to accumulate 450,000 Q (outside of 2x Q events), and the JG set would provide more benefits for the time invested.

Perseus, Captain Arcane, Tectonic Knight, Pankration, Siberiad, Sekhmet, Black Seraph, Clockwork
Project Attalus: Saving the world so you don't have to!

Maybe? But, I am a lifetimer, and that 500Z per month builds up. When I get a toon to 40 that I like well enough to outfit, I just BUY the Q for a set of Vig's.

The priveledges of being a lifer, I suppose.

If the Vig gear is too much grind, a set of Armadillo gear in the secondaries is drastically cheaper and almost as good. :)

EDIT: Let me swap on my 'leveling philosophy' hat.

I am in no rush to get anywhere, I've been a subscriber since launch day. I have a couple of sets of heirloom gear, that you get from the Nemesis vendor, and if I like a new toon I'll pop that onto it. Then I vendor EVERYTHING. The very first thing I do for a toon is give 100G from my hideout bank and buy a full set of the largest bags.

Anything that drops as I level that's even halfway decent, goes on the AH. If I decide to do the 'open world' missions, I pop open every single skillbox I see. All that stuff gets sold.

Often, not always, but often, a costume piece will drop on the way to 40 that more than repays the 100G loan that got all the biggest bags.

NEVER use the Monster Island quests to level more than once. The Monster Island content is a lot of fun, but VB is better for you in the long term. Vibora Bay is a lot slower to level, but the loot is better. And what rush are you in, anyway? :)

Stay out of alerts until you've leveled at least three toons to 40 in the open world content. The exception is doing one Smash per hour, for the resource boost. You can throw in one Burst per hour, too, if you are being good about vendoring everything. Once you've played the open world content a lot, you can start leveling toons with Grabs, but be aware that toons leveled with Grabs are going to be DIRT POOR.

Once you get into the thirties, anything purple goes on the AH. Any primary gear with a slot goes on the AH. That stuff vendors for about a gold and a half, and you can double that on the AH pretty easy.

This also means that people leveling their first toons, without heirloom, have a place to go for good gear. Support your fellow players.

If you don't have any heirloom, ALWAYS buy your gear every 5-6 levels off the AH. 5-10G will buy some really good stuff, and an L5 mod is not hard to afford, either.

Always get a Nemesis. Always. You want a set of Heirloom gear ASAP. Cannot stress that enough!

As soon as you hit 40 join UNITY and run the dailys until you can buy a full set of Heroic. Anything past Heroic is a luxury, you can honestly play the entire game in Heroic, short of Rampages. Unless you like them Rampages are kinda not worth it. It takes so long to get a set of Justice I basically don't even try.

Once you have three or four good level 40's (in Heroic Primaries and Q secondaries) and a set of Heirloom or two, the resources will start rolling in.

Do every lair as often as you can. Every minute in-game in a team is worth it, teams are really the secret key to win in this game. More xp if you need moar, more loot in the long run.

Do all the open-world events and especially the seasonal events. They're a lot of fun, and quite profitable.

    Have fun! :)

Okay, here's one of my absolute favorite toons. It doesn't do nearly as much damage as the heavy weapons build does, but few do! Instead, with supernatural power and regeneration this toon is the energizer bunny, and it's allll about the Shred, baby.

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

    Name: Grrl_7

    Archetype: Freeform

    Super Stats:
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

    Talents:
    Level 1: The Master
    Level 6: Paramilitary Training
    Level 9: Physical Conditioning
    Level 12: Quick Recovery
    Level 15: Relentless
    Level 18: Bodybuilder
    Level 21: Boundless Reserves

    Powers:
    Level 1: Infernal Bolts
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
    Level 6: Regeneration (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Supernatural Power
Level 11: Ebon Void (Rank 2, Rank 3, Voracious Darkness)
Level 14: Vicious Cyclone (Rank 2, Vortex Technique)
    Level 17: Masterful Dodge
Level 20: Aspect of the Bestial
Level 23: Massacre (Rank 2, Blood Mess)
    Level 26: Pounce
Level 29: Thunderclap (Rank 2, Rank 3, Challenging Strikes)
Level 32: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
    Level 35: Imbue
    Level 38: Unbreakable (Rank 2, Rank 3)

    Travel Powers:
Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2, Rank 3, Versatility)
    Level 35: Jet Pack

    Specializations:
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Aggression (2/2)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Overpower (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (1/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Warden Mastery (1/1)

Gear is Vigilante secondaries and Legion primaries

    Legion's Gloves of Offense - Str7, Con7, Gambler's 9(!), and Impact8
    Legion's Breastplate of Greater Health - Rec7, Con7, Growth7, Gambler's7
    Legion Helmet of Utility - Rec7, Con8, Impact7, Gambler's7

This toon is a solid all-rounder.

I wouldn't call it a tank, exactly, but it has come close to soloing Gravitar on a wipeout. Popping unbreakable lets your regen heal you to full. Popping masterful dodge does the same thing. And a maxed-out Ebon Void on top of regen will let you turtle up and survive ANYTHING.

I wouldn't call it a dps exactly, but when you settle down to shred/massacre cycles, popping imbue and ego surge over and over, it tends to take and keep aggro from almost anybody. Advantages in the spec tree add a whopping nineteen percent crit chance to your combo, Shred, and a tasty ten percent to everything else. You also have tons of crit severity to work with.

I wouldn't call it a street sweeper, exactly, but vicious cyclone cycled with handclap will pile up baddies around you and keep them helpless until they die, which doesn't take long.

I wouldn't call it a speedster, exactly, but in a mission the maxed out Athletics with Versatility makes you the first to the next spawn almost every time. Pounce is only there to give you even more speed to the next spawn.

I wouldn't call it a debuffer, exactly, but Penetrating Strikes stacked on Bloody Mess gets the job done well, the Vortex technique saves you from activated powers and cones, and the stun + challenging strikes from Handclap all serve to reduce the incoming damage by a considerable margin.

It's a great toon, deceptively simple and a blast to play. I hope people like it! :)
