Hello! The Costume A Day 2014 thread is officially over, but I've (probably) still got more costumes in me, so I'm sticking to my rigid* schedule of a new free-to-use costume here every week. I can't promise that every piece used will be free, cheap or easy-to-get, but as with before I'll try to list all the unlocks and costume sets used in the costume.

And - in case you weren't aware, you can load all my costumes into the tailor or character creator and view, experiment, change, steal, plagiarise to your hearts content. All the costumes I post here are free to use and tinker with.

So, with that out of the way, here's this week's costume:

Amanzi

Costume sets required: 90s Foxbat (chest layer), Cosmic Knight (torso, legs, hips layer, neck)
Costume unlocks required: Armadillo Helmet, Armor Nephilim bracers

I think I came up with using the aquatic fins as crests and details on armour about this time last year, and yes, it's taken this long to get the whole thing working satisfyingly. What we have here is a member of an alien race that depends upon the ocean for its survival and has it ingrained into their culture, but isn't actually physically adapted to living underwater like your average merman. Essentially, he loves the water, but he's not married to it.

How do I import this costume into Champions Online?
  1. Right-click the BLUE image file and select 'save as'
  2. Save the file to the 'Screenshots' subfolder in the location Champions Online is saved.
  3. Load the game, enter the character creator or tailor
  4. Click the 'load' button at the bottom of the screen. You should see the costume listed.

Some of the costume pieces are missing!
Unfortunately, if you have not unlocked a certain piece, it will not show up, even if the costume file is missing. Pieces from Z-Store sets should display correctly, but you will not be able to use the costume if you have not purchased that set.

Is it cool if I use this costume for my own character?
Yes, it is incredibly cool! Please feel free to use this costume as is, or alter it to your heart's content. Use as much or as little of the costume as you wish.

Well, if he loves the water so much why DOESN'T he marry it?

    btw - Subscribed!

Got to support good ol' bobsy. And the best way is to get out of bobsy's way.

Here's to have another great year of making costumes, buddy.

Ahem. Missed last week due to real life being a complete *****. And this comes a day late because of Bobsy being a complete *****. But I've at least included two costumes, so there's that.

Drop and The Nicest Merc in Town

    Costume_Bobsy_Drop_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_475274067.jpgCostume_Bobsy_NiceGuyMerc_CC_Comic_Page_Blue_450952199-1.jpg

    Costume sets required (Drop):
Project Clockwork (shoulders, leg accessories), Cosmic Knight (emblem front), Iron Age (belt), Jetpacks (back)
    Costume unlocks required (Drop): None!

    Costumes sets required (Merc):
    None!
Costume unlocks required (Merc): UNTIL Eyepatch

I've had the Merc in holding for AGES now - long enough that I've actually forgotten if I ever actually posted him last year. I don't THINK so, but just in case... sorry. He's an experiment in trying to make a mercenary soldier who doesn't look like a complete arsehole. Someone who you might actually want to hang out with some time.

Meanwhile Drop is part of a long line of cool kickass soldier women. And "Drop and the Nicest Merc in Town sounds like some short-lived Adult Swim cartoon that you'd watch blearily at midnight after staggering in from the pub. Someone commission it please.

    Dashing space captain!

I've been playing a lot of Elite: Dangerous lately, and sadly the space captains therein all wear the same drab plasticy bodysuit. It's a shame you can't show off fancy fashions, because I'd far rather look like Hall over here. She's faaaancy.
