After doing this for MONTHS without anyone ever bothering me to explain the situation, I finally found people actually angry. One of them went as to retaliate to me yesterday, which perked up my curiosity and, after investigation, I found out why this bothers people.
So, without further going, I'd like to openly apologize for being a dork in Hi Pan's alert this weekend. Nobody told me that Ascension could lock the players out and/or break the alert. I just thought it'd be a good shortcut to get to him and keep drawing the aggro.
So, to all of those who feel offended/prejudiced/annoyed when you were in my team and saw me doing that, please accept my apologies. I was going to PM Snake Wildlife and apologize, but he blocked me prior to that, hihihi.
(But next time please explain instead of assuming I'm doing this for any ill-intentions)

If you were doing it in Hi-Pan I wouldn't be overly bothered as it dose not have a lock out mechanic that stops you getting into the fight once its begun. It can be a little annoying if the remaining team members are unable to fight there way over the bridges.
Rushing to the boss fight is far more of a problem in alerts like warlord and cyber mind where if the boss is attacked it triggers a lock out mechanic and then the rest of the team are stuck locked out the fight until you die or they leave.
As to snake blocking you I suspect he's far more bothered with the fact that you robbed him of teh limelight of taking on a boss as while I never seen him cause a lock out situation I've been on plenty of alerts where he's went strait for the boss.

This idea of mine is a remnant of my playstyle in Quake Teamfortress and later Saint Seiya Online. Wether the team needed an extra flank I'd usually go - and be followed by one person - to the other way or rushed to the boss battle to relief some of the challenge from the team's shoulders. I do that in Grab Alerts, in particular Vibora Bay ones. When everyone goes to the right entrance I go through the left and meet the team in the middle, in front of the boss.
I have an absolute love for this "clear the path" tactic. When done right it makes everyone in the team feel relevant.

I did try something like that in Warlord in the "clear the path" sense, by attacking the enemy mob cluster. I failed, so I gave up.
As to snake blocking you I suspect he's far more bothered with the fact that you robbed him of teh limelight of taking on a boss as while I never seen him cause a lock out situation I've been on plenty of alerts where he's went strait for the boss.

Personally don't care if people ascend over to hi-pan as long as they can actually handle him solo without dying.
Warlord, however, is another matter. People who rush ahead screw over the entire rest of the team by making it almost impossible to follow through the clogged doorways and then locking them out of the boss fight, preventing others from getting any rewards.
Only thing I was aware of that really breaks Hi Pan is pets (if you have them out at the wrong time, second cut scene never plays, Hi Pan never becomes vulnerable). Using ascension is obnoxious, but news to me that it actually breaks things.
ascension used to lockup the alert. because people were flying straight form the start to Hipan across the sides.
Sometimes even before the cutscene had finished.
since you never touched the bridges, it's considered no team.
That was fixed the first time around by blocking the sides, so you couldn't fly straight across.
BY flying ahead, you are agroing all the mobs and leaving everyone else to deal with them.
There is NO NEED to get HIpans attention early. He doesn't do anything until you attack him.
I had one on the weekend, where someone was running across to attacjk the first mobs, during the cutscene. GLITCHED. NO it wasn't you, it was a female character.
There's plenty of time, don't rush to attack during the cutscene. That's probably the pet problem too, they attack before the cutscene finishes and its screws the alert order.
Knocking people off the bridges, if they aren't dead, will respawn at full health.
This idea of mine is a remnant of my playstyle in Quake Teamfortress and later Saint Seiya Online. Yes, and it's hilarious when the rest of the team can't handle anything in the alert without you and they end up quitting out of frustration isn't it? I know cause that happens to me when I do that tactic. Of course I'm not doing it so that "everyone feels relevant", I'm doing it to show off how big and strong I am. Nothing better than circling around back to that first mob that the other 4 people in the part are still trying to work down... then one shotting it in front of their eyes ^______^ Ego!

I don't infer that. I state it outright.

This idea of mine is a remnant of my playstyle in Quake Teamfortress and later Saint Seiya Online. Wether the team needed an extra flank
The key difference here is "needed an extra flank". The only situation where that comes up in CO is Stronghold Apocalypse (PvP); in PvE the only time this is useful is when your team is overpowered enough that the spawns are being cleared faster than people can get to them. Most of the time, it's either unhelpful or actively detrimental.

No, that really doesn't apply to me. Not in CO, at least. My Ego in CO is directed towards trying to craft the best healer of the game.
In those kind of situations, whenever I got a team unable to handle the enemy mob cluster while I'm on the other side, they didn't really quit, specially because the combo Force Cascade + Hurricane usually disposes of the current mob cluster quickly, either if I go FC on strongest mob + Hurricane on the others or go bowling by FC'ing the weaker mobs at once then quickly killing the last one/two with Lightning Arc. End result: if th e rest of the team can't take on the first enemy mob cluster I'll meet them there anyways and help them.
I'm aware of what people's been saying here, specially the lack of need of doing this in Grab alerts, but when I kept doing the aforementioned strategy along with the team some of them sent me PMs complaining that "I was killing them too fast" or I should "Leave some for the rest of the team" or even how they "feel useless when this Maverick guy ROFLSTOMPs the mob cluster before anyone else can attack". When they didn't complain they ended up engaging different mob clusters on their own. There were very rare cases when they simply stepped back and waited for me to engage them to get the leftovers after my FC.
So I used the following idea: I love flanking like this + I love rushing PVE's to try to do things as fast as possible = I decided to go the other way in Grab Alerts.
Don't worry, I'm not trying to show off nor anything like this. My DPS toon is -very- far from being OP. It's just that my playstyle is revolved around speedkilling, and Grab Alerts are not hard for level 40's.

ascension used to lockup the alert. because people were flying straight form the start to Hipan across the sides.
Oh, I never flew before the cutscene started. Before I used that, I remember a case where the alert was broken. The cutscene never started, so the team rushed to Hi Pan and the second cutscene was played, ending up on Hi Pan not being a valid target, so when I started doing that I always waited for the first cutscene and always landed in the bridge in front of him, mostly because I knew the Ascension would end during the second cutscene and I'd need a place to land.
I did, however, miss the landing position and ended up stuck on a rock down the bridge.
Yes, I missed the ground. I'm awesome like that.

Doesn't Warlord port the team into the room when he's triggered? I seem to remember that happening to me the other week.
Actually it does Teleport the Teammates in the Room when the Battle is trigger
But the party members need to be inside the Last Room or in the Last Hall!
I was surprised to find this out, 2 PUGs member rushed to unlock the warlord room and I rushed to enter the room as soon as the Cutscene ended before I get locked out
To my surprisem My charactered was teleported from the Hall to the Boss Room
This idea of mine is a remnant of my playstyle in Quake Teamfortress and later Saint Seiya Online. I see you had good Intentions, but I'm afraid it's kind of pointless in that case and kind of Harmful for the other PUG member who need to make their way to the boss via Mobs
Unfortunately, not all the Ascension Users / Exploiters(?) have the same Intention
Basically they are like "LOL I'm going to Solo Dis, Bye B!tches have fun with the Mobs #Yolo #Swag"
The majority of the people I had the Misfortune to get PUGed with use Ascension to ignore the rest of the Team and fly straight to the Boss to SOLO HIM so they can get the Reward Faster
They REALLY want those Dragon Cores and the (Now Overused) Aura from the Boss badly apparently, so badly that they are willing to sacrifice the other PUG Members
For that reason and only they need to make a special Mechanic to Punish those kind of players who use Ascension
Ooooooooh, so he was just being a hypocrite. Well, that makes me feel less bothered by what happened. Also, Atziri seemed very insulted as well.

There's been plenty of incidents of players using exploits to fly to Hi Pan, finish him off before a team can finish the first group and then leave so quickly that there wouldn't be enough time for the team to reach the loot drop.
This is a team alert and running off leaving the rest of the team in your dust is considered an **** hole move in any situation.
As to snake blocking you I suspect he's far more bothered with the fact that you robbed him of teh limelight of taking on a boss as while I never seen him cause a lock out situation I've been on plenty of alerts where he's went strait for the boss.
Probably because the majority of players (99.9%) that do this do it to break the alert or prevent the rest of the team from catching up to get the loot drop.
Ooooooooh, so he was just being a hypocrite. Well, that makes me feel less bothered by what happened.
No doubt Snake goes off to fight the bosses ahead in those alerts that fighting certain mobs is completely unnecessary or luring the boss over away from other pointless mobs to get the alert done faster and more efficiently.
Anyone who tries and uses that as a point to their argument that "Snake isn't a team player" is disingenuous and is trying to sway the mass community against him because of their own hypocrisy. Those kinds of players loathe him because he's responsible for bringing to light a great deal of game breaking and economy ruining exploits that those players were using against the game and the rest of the community.
Don't let anyone make you think that Snake's reasons aren't sound. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time doing something that just makes you look like an ****. That one is basically uwu.
u3u can also be judgemental in addition to clueless. Like when you say to a girl "If you wanted him to like you, then why did you hit him with a hammer when he gave you that present? u3u"
o3o is full on confused and clueless... also surprised! Like when someone says something weird... or takes off their armor and stands around in their underwear for no apparent reason. The face can also be used when you're trying to be sneaky.. but in a Peter Griffon sort of way... he actually makes that face a lot.
Well I'm doing it to show off u3u and because that pace is fun for me. It's a lasting effect from when I used to play WoW. I played a tank, and I would run instances at breakneck speed, pulling groups at a rapid pace and often running off waving my sword to pull the next group before the current one was done.... the "normal" pace of running dungeons in that game was painfully slow for me. Oddly enough people there would yell at me for doing that... even though we were being successful at a rapid pace and nobody was dying xD My favorite times were the few instances of an uppity healer saying "slow down or I stop healing" ... and then they would do it... and then they would start feeling awkward after a few minutes when they realized it didn't matter if they healed or not. A few even threw a hissy fit and left... of course in that game any super tank has a stable of willing healers on their friends list to jump in as a replacement for a fast heroic dungeon uwu Ego!
So back to CO o3o I've actually had people complain about the flanking manuever too. The most hilarious times are when people yell at me for "not helping" or "not being a team player" while I'm pretty much completing the alert for them. Like if the Chicago Bulls got upset at Micheal Jordan for scoring too many points. I mean shoot if they cared they could have just followed me and attacked the same NPCs as me...... if they can keep up OwO~
Another time I got yelled at in the Museum Grab. Basically the other 4 party members started attacking the left most group of NPCs. I went and killed all the other groups of NPCs, went inside the museum, and killed every single group of NPCs in there and disarmed all the bombs... disarmed the last one just as the other 4 players were zoning into the museum... one guy in the group claimed that I had "&^%$ed them". I was like o3o... I didn do det...
Overall I think it's hilarious that people in random pugs get mad at me for doing the very thing that the Altaholics channel was created for xD

I only do that when the mob has about 1k HP left. Then I charge Haymaker or Force Cascade (Depending on the toon) and hit him all out.
I like seeing the dead mobs flying away, specially so I can see how far I can knock them away when they die.
