Skeleton Aura "Blinking" back to Normal?

I sent a bug report but wondered if anyone noticed that the Skeleton Aura "blinks" or changes back to your non-aura-ed appearance for about 1/2 or 1 second. The intervals seems a little random and I asked if other saw it too and wasn't just a graphics error on my part.


Is this happening to anyone else? Any workarounds? Is it just with some character models and not others?

    I switched the aura to another character and the same thing. I went to the Canada map and it stopped. So it might just be happening in Halloween MC for some reason?

    It's likely related to server load, as I believe that the game system continuously has to inform your player model to display skeleton parts in place of your normal ones, without actually changing your costume data. Similar things happen with the UNTIL spacesuit, as well as a few other cosmetic disguises used in Purple Gang affairs and Resistance.

    It replaces the lower layer (i.e. skin and tights layer; you can still wear a jacket or a dress) of your costume with a skeleton. And yes, it's somewhat difficult to get, average AH price I've seen is around 2k globals, if it's there at all.

    So, I don't have a screenshot of the skeleton aura in play, but you can figure out more or less what it looks like from the links in this post: http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=2166691&postcount=15

    That has images for the individual skeleton costume parts; the aura simply replaces gloves/arms/chest/legs/feet/head with the corresponding skeletal component; I'm not sure about wings/tail - it may or may not also replace those.
    Now, the one big draw to the skeletal aura over the skeleton costume set: the costume set had to be made to be able to line up with non-skeletal pieces, which means it's got big clunky disks wherever there could be a seam; since the aura always replaces the entire outfit, it doesn't have those.
