Hrmmm, especially the costume unlocks have no reason for being removed.
But... On Alert was so revolutionary, why would anyone ever want to play the old content! And to make sure people realize that it's Just Better, we'll give it giant graphics on your main screen, and make it a really fast way to level up, and remove all the incentives for doing the old content!
Lets not turn this into a "Lets hate on alert" thread. this is about SOLVING the issues which were introduced, namely, removal of rewards.
Well this is about solving people, specifically those who came after On-Alert, not playing the old content - of which there is a lot relative to alerts.
Potential causes could be:
- lack of rewards
- lack of access relative to alerts
Would be interesting to discuss how much of the way there we think we'll get purely by introducing rewards.
For example, the Mechanon arc has rewards and has the added benefit of being new and shiny - is that enough to get people to play it nearly as much as they play alerts?
I think lack of knowledge and lack of repeatability is a major issue. I'm newer than some forum goers and I try to seek out interesting older content yet it can be difficult to find sometimes. Especially difficult if you don't know proper thematic matches, like if you want to seek out magic themed missions.

Uhm, Therakiel's Temple is already broken up into 3 pieces with the crystals.
-Beginning to Black Fang.
-Black Fang to Vladic.
-Vladic to End.
Just put the unlocks back into it(converting dated gear with unlocks into straight up unlocks) and call it a day for the most part. :biggrin:
I know about the crystals. Don't you have to go back and get the crystal? Which means you need to know that a crystal is there to get? (No, I haven't run TT in a long time.)
Personally think it would be fun to just go through a section to a certain boss when ever I wanted without having to rely on a crystal. Or having to do the entire run up until the boss I wanted to smack around. Or finding someone who is willing to waste their crystal so I can just do that one section. Or needing to remember which toon even has any crystals.
Haven't been playing as much, but I don't see many people by the MC Mechanon missions. And I don't remember TT being played by a whole lot of people even before OnAlert ripped out all the rewards. So, I can't say if rewards alone are enough to bring people to the content or if it'll just bring back the old farmers to it.

People can't be lured by something they're not aware of. There's already some neat rewards from missions... but nobody knows about them so how could they be enticed?

The other problem is that it means people who have already run those missions can't get the things.
One idea I had was to add items to the Renown stores that require specific missions as prerequisites. You'd need some way of helping people find those missions, though, since the ones you'd want to use are generally arc finishers, not starters.
