So, they adjusted up the bonus per stack, but by cutting down the max stacks by almost 40%, they actually made the max total worse than most current toggles for their primary damage form?
Just checked this myself on my PH toon, since I already had the new powers unlocked:
@ 283 Ego:
AotM = 15% melee & ranged per stack = 75% melee & ranged max
Conc = 12% ranged 6% melee per stack = 96% ranged 48% melee max
That would be better balanced if the form had a better trigger and if stacks refreshed the whole buff (the power lacks its own buff - the buff is from the stacks themselves, which may tie into that)- but def not as is.
You realize there were people, who were adamant, that AotM was overpowered? I still can't wrap my head around that one. It's a lot of things, but overpowered isn't one of them.
Just from my own play experience, I'm lucky to get a few stacks of it on full team. In alerts, if there are other damage dealers, forget it. While you're charging Rocket Punch, the mobs are already wiped out.
When it comes time take down the boss, there's no reliable way to stack it. Right now it's unranked, so that may be part of the issue. As I gain levels and ranks we'll see if if it changes. But for the most part, I'm lucky to build up 2 or 3 stacks during an Alert or doing anything teamed.

Yeah, well the damage bonus itself when stacked to 8 could be seen as OP, but that's ignoring every other factor about the power, and that the 5-stack change traded optimal bonus for more bonus at the non-ideal range.
Could say more, but its starting to veer off-topic too much. Needless to say, I'm prob just gonna keep it at R1 on the AT and put the 4 adv points elsewhere.
or they could make it go back up to 8 stacks, or increase the scaling even further..as well as fixing the proc issue, because as it stands, there is almost nobody who uses ranged and melee powers, they either specialise in one or the other and have the form for it while having a sprinkling of the other type to cover a few weakspots, so all in all AotM, between it's prco system being utter garbage and the stacks being limited to 5 it is all in all one of the uselsss powers that people will never use if they can help it a.k.a. not forced into it by an AT...and come to think of it i've heard more than a few people say they'd never use the autoaton AT becasue the form is that bad...this REALLY needs fixing before it ends up like mental discipline or AoAC

Yeah some things are broken... no I don't use/abuse them.. where would be the fun in that?
I get a slightly lower max cap - and -20% isn't terrible, when it's a boost of almost twice that over the "wrong" attack type for current toggles.
And I still have no idea why you think the lower cap is in any way acceptable, or why you think having balanced bonuses between melee and ranged is in any way unacceptable. Yes, that's not how (most of) the existing forms work. So? What's the problem with having a new one that works differently? It's not going to magically obsolete the existing forms, in the same way that having Aspect of the Infernal doesn't magically obsolete Concentration - or vice versa.
Still say it should gain stacks based on how low your health is OR how long the battle goes on.
I think a form that just automatically stacks up in combat, one per three or four seconds or something, would be neat - and very thematic to Aspect of the Machine. Predictable. Like clockwork. And having such a form that granted energy would be neat, too; presumably lower energy gains than are possible with other forms, but, well, predictable ones. Like clockwork. The current form feels more like "Aspect of the Murder-Hobo" than anything to do with machines.

They made murdering relevant to machines by making the icon for the form a crazed robot face. There ya go!
I'd rather it work as you outlined (or via any reliable combat-related trigger, really), but imo the proc icd shouldn't go below 4 sec if its automatic- since some other toggles have an icd on stacking w/ their stipulated conditions as is (to make a comparison: END mastery has a 3 sec proc icd for doing things in non-hybrid forms, but is every 5 sec automatically for Hybrid).
Well, ideally, it'd just go automatically at, say, 25% slower than the internal cooldown on enrage or the like - I just don't know what the numbers on that are. (Of course, some forms don't have a cooldown - Aspect of the Infernal stacks up in pretty much no time flat, for example.)
BUG: Drifter cannot grant the invading destroids mission nor reward Q boxes for completing it.
BUG: Invading destroids do not drop memory cores to provide to drifter.
If the mission was added to .11, it was rolled out in one hell of a hurry. These bugs are now on live, making this week of the destroid invasion meaningless, unless you think random destroids waddlng around MC looking menacing and merely cluttering up the screen are worthwhile.
