GEM Amethyst SMG Question

Hey all,
So I just have a quick question. I noticed from this thread:

That the Amethyst SMG is unattainable now.
Yet according to an old archive of the CO-wiki, you get it from getting the Mech Warrior Perk:

The Bureau 17 bots are still there... did the On Alert remove that reward for that perk? Been meaning to grind out that Amethyst gun but I don't wanna kill 5k of them just to find out that it's not the reward anymore.

What replaced the reward for the Mech Warrior perk? Or nothing?
You just get the perk points and whatever the costume unlock is for 5k kills. If I recall correctly, it's the wiry torso that also comes with that mechanical dragon C-store pack (can't recall the pack name offhand). But the gun was equipable gear, so it's completely gone just like all the weapon skins attached to power replacers. Sorry to disappoint.
Well, not all of them are completely gone: Many power replacer items that were bind on equip can still be purchased from players who stockpiled unused ones. I've managed to get about 10 of them in the last month, though the price was unfortunate.
