Help me make a build for Flyboy!

I've got a very specific theme in mind with my character. Flyboy is a WWII fighter pilot that got abducted by aliens and is just now returning to Earth after decades in stasis. I want him to have all kinds of cool toys and gadgets with him when he comes back. The more outer-spacey the powers look, the better. Of course I'm not only going for form, but function as well.

Theme is very important here, and while I'll forego powers that fit the concept very well in order to make a better character, I doubt I'll consider powers that make zero sense for my toon to have. For instance, he won't be wearing armor so I can't imagine why a mingun would rise out of his shoulder.

I don't know which role I'm going to be playing, so I'm totally down for whatever you think is necessary.

This is a very rough build. I mostly just chose powers that I tested in the powerhouse and thought looked cool. I apologize for my laziness.

    I can suggest 2 ideas:

-PETMASTER: a petmaster/support toon played in Support role. The gadgets are still there and you can have the three tech pets (I skipped the hylarious Attack Toys!). The passive of choice is AoED to pump the damage of the pets, the Form power is Compassion for synergy between PRE as a PSS and the awesome Sentinel Aura. The final spec is Commander Mastery for more Pet dmg, or you can go Sentinel Mastery for more heals. The second shield, Mindful Reinforcement, could be a res (resurrection serum) or a heal (bionic shielding).

-AGGRESSIVE: a sort of survivable DPS that uses PFF as indicated in your OP. The SS and specs and Form are all geared towards DMG through crits. The build seems pretty self explanatory.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks! I really like the aggressive build a lot. I knew someone was going to suggest pets. My main issue with this though is the munition bots. For me, they aren't sci-fi enough. Oh sure, when they're robots they're all sleek and shiny. But it seems that their main use is as a mobile turrent, and turrents are not sleek and shiny. So I think I'm going to go with the aggressive build.

I see that you swapped out the pulse beam rifle for experimental blaster. Can I ask why? I feel like the animation for experimental blaster has lazy graphics. The way my toon drops the gun and then lifts it back up look awkward to say the least. It also doesn't seem to do much damage and feels very clunky when I use it.

Are the support drones primarily going to be healers or attackers?

The experimental blaster was chosen since it is a blast that synergizes with Guardian Mastery. Of course you can swap them and pick another mastery!

And Support Drones are thought for some group support, since their damage aspect is secondary to their healing power. But I personally love them for their versatility so you can have healing and damage in a single power!

Isn't that like saying Optimus Prime isn't sci-fi enough since he turns into just a plain ol' truck?

I like the Aggressive build too, but I would take Pulse Beam Rifle over Experimental Blaster, pretty much ANY passive over PFF, and instead of Support Drones...yep, Munitions Bots

Don't be like the Qularr. They would not last one round in the Interstellar Galactic Arena...

hey just found this thread I like the aggressive build of superalfgorn but was wondering if I switched out PFF for regen I should get rid of field surge for resurgence right?

Yeah, take a diff AD if ur using Regen. Field Surge is only a standout AD w/ PFF- its not very good otherwise.

What I would prob do w/ that build is drop Orbital Cannon for unranked MD, and Field Surge for Resurgence. And def get the 1-pt Death ray adv on Exp Blaster- it helps make taps of it good dps, and def get Nimble Mind on Ego Surge. If theme permits, can also trade Implosion Engine for Strafing Run, or for Energy Wave w/ Reverse Polarity (to clump mobs for Sonic Boom Generator more often).

Also, ya prob want Con as an SS if ya drop PFF for Regen. Can use either a EGO/Int/Con or INT/Con/Dex or DEX/Int/Con SS setup to good effect (focus on Int and Con the most, in all cases).
