    Really? Because the original day as per Terminator 2 was August 29th, 1997 at 2:14 am EST. Terminator 3 had it happen on July 25th, 2004 at 5:18 pm EST. In the Sarah Conner Chronicles, it was April 21st 2011.

    Nowhere could I find a source for May 18th, 2014.

    You're right. I had gotten my years mixed up again. *2004/2014, or possibly those + 2011*

    I wouldn't say that... it might happen in our timeline eventually. Remember, Judgment Day is inevitable. It's just all the time-travelling hijinks keeps creating divergent timelines and delaying the date. It could be that Skynet's ultimate plan is to make sure John Conner is too old to lead a resistance since its assassins keep failing to kill him.

    I think David Brin is right - if Skynet emerges, it won't be from military software, rigned about as it is with safeguards, but rather from predatory stock-trading programs, which operate so quickly they can take advantage of the speed-of-light lag between the East and West Coasts to maximize profits in buying and selling. The software has to be able to operate independently of human intervention, because humans can't think that fast, and it's completely amoral - ethical considerations have no place on Wall Street, after all.

    Apparently all the time-traveling hijinks messed up Marty McFly too, because he didn't go to no 2015 we're about to experience.

    It's amazing to me that the guy who punched Q and then shrugged, later went nuts when the Profits (wormhole aliens) tested him.
