While I may not have any bestial characters I play at the moment, I have to agree with the feeling that the animal heads we do have feel... lacking.

While some of them are still aesthetically pleasing in a still screenshot, every time I see them ingame, I realize how artificial they feel. Like masks, or wax statues perpetually wearing the same expression.

Couple that with all animal characters having the exact same heads, since they're not affected by sliders, and the result is a little saddening.

I know that, among the costume pieces we've been getting over the years, new animal heads have been few and far between, so I'm not sure when we'll get better, or different ones, but... they sure would be welcome!

Don't forget ones for scalies to, Reptile Pack! Dragon Pack! o.3.o
Want to get to know me a bit better, Click me and take a read of My Dragon Profile Page, it's a bit dated but still relevant.

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

I think only 2 of my characters have human heads, and one of those is a gingerbread man. I get to play a human every day of my life--it's fun to play something different.

So I'd love to see some more and better beast heads. Particularly I don't understand why more sliders aren't enabled. Enable them all! If they look dumb, people won't use them.

Some heads are way better than others.

The frog head actually has some interesting sliders. The slick-snake head works--because snake heads really do look like that, and don't change expression. Some other heads are good for the same reason, like the deer head or the vulture head.

Some heads are terrible. That rat head is not only ugly but looks nothing like a rat. A lot of the mammal heads look ridiculous in beast stance because of how the nect attaches to the body--the bear head and some of the wolf heads for instance. Any head with its mouth permanently open looks goofy after a while.

I really hate how the deer head's neck looks. It is long and often at an odd angle. I also wish it could close its muzzle or you could color its iris. It is also annoying how skin color effects so much when skin colors are so limited.

I totally want an upgrade and those in the picture look AWESOME.

COX went for a more realistic look, and realism doesn't age quite as well as stylistic graphics. In my opinion, COX character models looked really artificial. Not bad, but blocky. XP

I'd like to add some concerns/wishes of my own, si por favor?

-If, for some reason, this awesome suggestion can't be put in place, at least give the current beast heads some more custom accessories. Glasses, hats, heck, even facial hair; just something that could help make beast-headed characters look unique.

-In case of another deer/stag head, add the option for the human-like eyes of some of the other beast heads. That stag eye disturbs me. :c

-Some domesticated animals would be nice.

-Oh, and actual, changing facial expressions would be cool, too. That "stuck on angry" look gets boring after a while. :P

People saying "CoX" will never stop sounding dirty to us.

That said, yeah. City of Heroes/Villains had a more "realistic" style, but up close the faces and graphics were a bit pixelated and VERY blocky. The hands had no fingers, just kinda.. square.. and with fingers 'drawn' in.

Truly the current beast heads are so sub-par, they're completely unusable in our opinions. The feline head in particular which as We mentioned is supposed to cover -all felines- including tiger, looks absolutely nothing like a tiger. It just looks like a sabertooth gone full derp, derp used since apparently ****** is censored for some reason.

Yeaaah.. well, Cryptic's track record certainly doesn't shine a ray of hope on this request; but it doesn't hurt to try. Just a minor frustration when it's inevitably ignored, which heaped onto the other frustrations We've had with dealing with Cryptic and their games is fairly inconsequential.

Still if these heads could be updated in the game, it'd be at least a tiny victory and a show that Cryptic was actually remotely listening to their Customers and that the Suggestions Forums weren't just a place where hopes and dreams come to die.

They had 0 facial animation, though. At least here all are animated, if slightly.

    True.

That makes it even more embarassing when CO bestial heads look like crap when compared to completely unanimated heads from a very old game with badly dated graphics...

Gooot to agree with Mee here, it's really an embarrassment to CO and the Cryptic Team when another games bestial heads looked better and were actually working with far less than what Cryptic has to work with.

To be honest, We hate how most of the bestial heads look. They're just terrible, it's like Cryptic put no effort whatsoever into them and just pushed them out.
