Galactic Champions Begins

This suggestion is really only if we make it as far as 2020 in this game's life, which is 6 years from now (we're just coming up to 5 years this year, so this is VERY far in advance), so maybe a bit too far-thinking, maybe, but it'd make an interesting 'end' to the game when we get there, and it's too awesome to not do anything on that date, should Champions Online still be around.

In Galactic Champions, to avoid giving too much away of the plot beyond what you could find online about it, in 2020, Tyrannon invades, causing all-out war. Between 2020 and 2022, pretty much all the superpowers (although some with powers still exist, just resting until the magic can let them use them at full power) stop working as the magic permitting superpowers just stops (and it's all Witchcraft's fault.)
Then, proper science, rather than superscience, starts ruling for a long time, and heroes are diminished into myth and legend, of the 20th and early 21st century's Age of Heroes.

It'd make for a very interesting set of Alerts, missions, and events, in which the focus is on the final days before superpowers stop working.

Just wanted to throw that out there, as it'd be nice to see Galactic Champions content in CO eventually, when the time is right.

We could do some stuff early, with time travel, especially as Tachyon seems to be missing from the game, and I believe he's a villain with time-travel based powers, and Juryrig has a time travel machine we're all well aware of now...

I do not think Cryptic will ever make use of this "no magic, no powers" idea of post-2020 PnP lore.
Considering it is a pretty bad one and it exists in PnP CU only to made tie-in to star hero and galactic champions possible.

Also, it doesn't really covers all heroes with extraterrestial, extraplanar, or just badass normal power origins.

Would be a moderately good idea for the final event if this game had to shut down, though.

If you took away magic, elf swords, and demon wings the fanboys would flip out and throw a tantrum.

We are, sadly, in an era without a really good Sci-fi MMO.
