So far Telepathy is a frame work I havent experimented much with but I have been wanting to, it just also seems to be very support minded. Can someone suggest a more combat oriented telepathy build that wont relegate my character to a support role?
Ya wanna use the 'new' TP DoTs heavily, or focus more on a classic TP/TK mix? Cause if its heavy TP DoTs, CoS is prob the passive to pick, otherwise Ego Form for more generalized Mentalist dps builds.
Specializations: Intelligence:Enlightened(2/3) Intelligence:Battle of Wits(3/3) Intelligence:Detect Vulnerability(3/3) Intelligence:Expertise(2/2) Guardian:Fortified Gear(1/3) Guardian:Locus(2/2) Guardian:Ruthless(2/2) Guardian:Find the Mark(2/3) Guardian:The Best Defense(3/3) Warden:Fortified Gear(3/3) Warden:Ruthless(2/2) Warden:Elusive(2/2) Warden:The Best Defense(3/3) Mastery:Intelligence Mastery(1/1)
2 powers, TPs, and 6 adv points leftover for you to choose from.
I included Mind Break as something to tap in between the DoT cds, but you do NOT want to charge it unless you are trying to kill/execute ur target- as otherwise it'd detonate the debuffs that you generally want to keep up (other TP DoT users would hate you for constantly detonating the DoTs, since they don't stack between multiple users- so try not to do that).
Alternatively, you could take Ego Blast and maybe use Mind Opener w/ Telepathic Reverb instead of MSA (but that scales from Presence, which isn't as good of a stat to SS for dps). I took Conditioning over r3 on Congress of Selves for Trauma, but feel free to take rank 3 instead.
I opted for Concentration over Mental Discipline cause you can trigger Concentration from the blast attack (if nothing else), and its better energy and comparable dps once stacked. Manipulator is another option that helps the hold powers (can stack it easy w/ Ego Storm), but would result in less dps, since Manip's dmg benefit is half that of the other toggles (stacks of it do last 1min, though).
Issue w/ spec trees is that the new TP DoTs (not Ego Sprites) do scale w/ crit and severity, but only w/ general (char sheet) increases, so the specific crit% boosts like in Vindicator don't affect them. Since ur not going for a Support or Hybrid build I shied away from things like hold increases and just went w/ a high Offense/Defense spec build. Overseer is possibly a good option too, but I'm not sure if Mental Leech's heal effects proc Honor in groups.
