I was playing STO and and then they had Maintenance... so ive seen Champs in the launcher (( cryptic )) then i watched lets play videos of champions and thought it is ugly and childish... then when STO was back online and i was bored of it i downloaded CHAMPS ad thought " well lets see how this is..." and then ii got addcited....
The thing is in the videos almost al lchars looked stupid and no one really made a video that shows how champions really is... the story missions for example are awesome and after i created my toons i wondered why most of other toons looked so ugly...then i got addicted even more
I think I heard about it from a guy that worked the chip stand I used to go to during my first year out of high school. We shot the **** while I was waiting for my fries to be ready and he brought up CO. I ended up forgetting about it after a while and kept on playing other games until I saw that CO went free-to-play. I gave it a fair try and ended up falling in love with the customization.
was at a friend's house and he was tunneling through Canada. told me it was a superhero mmo an you could create your own and customize your powers. nothing else needed to be said to me.
well, I'll miss you cyrone. thanks for all the cool stuff you taught me about the game.
I didn't say I was quitting. More taking a bresk.

I'm an old Champions player and heard about the release of CO via a forum post while I was involved in CoH. I had some hands on time with CO at the rather large booth Cryptic has set up at Gen Con in 2009 (IIRC).
I wasn't too impressed with running around and picking up stagecoaches in Snakebite Gulch at the time, but I wasn't very happy with CoH, either. I took a short break from MMO's for a bit. A friend convinced me to take another look at CO that fall.
The freeform character creation process and look of the game got me hooked. Finding a great RP community via CORP and some fine SG's have kept me here. a
I was playing CoH, and got into contact with some old friends that I hadn't talked to since my Ultima Online days. Told them all about CoH, and they told me they were all in the beta for this new heroes game, so I tried it out and that was that.
What really sold me was at that particular point in beta, everyone got a free boost to 40 and there were Mega-Ds all over RenCen and there were hundreds of characters all fighting and trying out new level 40 builds to look forward to once the game went live.
That was the beginning of a long line of characters that went into the Desert and became "Built Ferd Tough."

I noticed in June 2011, as it got newly to Steam and thought myself "A superhero MMO? Why not, maybe it's fun." Just 5 Months later, i went lifetime and still play it. Not just really daily anymore but still very often.
I don't remember the exact place I heard about the game, but it was before the game had even entered beta testing and people were talking about what info had been released about what the game would be like, and I remember being very intrigued. I like games and superheroes, so of course I was interested and started following info that came out leading up to the game's release.
Then the game came out, but I didn't actually get it until a few months after release (January 2010). I played a couple of months, but various issues (including my PC at the time dying and having to settle on an older machine that barely ran it while I saved up for a better PC again) kept me from returning until recently.
My CoX friends constantly made fun of CO and poking at how much potential it had and just utterly failed to do so. They even said that CO would just close down soon since the developers just don't care about it at all. Hilariously, a few months later, CoX announced that it was shutting down, and here I am about a year and a half later.
I'd downloaded Steam to buy TF2 (briefly before it went F2P. Figures.) and I saw a promo for CO. There was a special offer back then - free Demonflame AP weekend, free Pistolwhip sidekick, a bunch of other minor stuff I can't recall. Believe it was back in June 2011
I first heard about CO in an issue of gameinformer (back in 2008, I think). I got super excited because the article said it was coming out on the xb360. Few issues later I found out that they cancelled the console version. So after that I completely forgot about it. During my freshman year in college (2010) I saw that it went f2p and I've been playing ever since
How did I find CO? Sad story really. I had just bought my LTS for Star Trek Online (Which I bought on STO's Launch), when I saw on the STO wepage there was an add about Champions. A day or 2 later my download of CO completed and I started playing. When I learned they also had a LTS Option I kicked myself as I would rather have LTS for CO over STO. Now over 1500 days later (Hopping between "Silver", which I have a separate account for, and "Gold") I still don't have LTS for Champions, but its still by far my favorite game (STO would be a close second as I do like STO, but most days I log into CO)

Stop me if you've heard this already. I feel like I've told this in Zone at least three times so far. I had been playing Dungeons & Dragons Online for about six years, didn't like it that much because of the utter lack of character customisation, and *still* missing Star Wars Galaxies (pre-CU, pre-NGE) and *still* read all kinds of online comics.
Anyway, I had just started reading this comic called 'Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire' and read in the artist's blog under the comic about an online game he used to play. (Champions Online, duh)
I was so ticked off with Turbine and frantically grasping at straws at whatever else I could do with my time, so I thought I'd check it out.
I fell in love with the tailor, and though I've yet to really get any appreciation for what I make at the tailors, I still love the game, making characters, and making costumes.
I've been here for over a year so far...
Myself I basically got bored with WoW and went poking at a few f2p MMOs and then saw this on Steam. Tried it out and almost gave it a pass after being a complete newb and dieing on black talon a few years ago as a power armor character (Yes I paid a month sub just starting out) and ended up deleting her. Didn't play again for a few days after that. Fortunately after recreating her and giving it another go I got a friendly bit of help from another player that eventually led to my first rp in CC and been hooked ever since buying lifetime maybe 3 months in. Funny enough... that RP with the friendly player was just him wanting to get into her pixelated panties (and no he wasn't successful).
