Vehicle upgrade kits

I managed to read part of the thread on the last upgrades.

does anyone know if the kits will be BOP or will they be tradeable?(that word doesn't look right)

tradeable is likely to sell more, as people buy them to resell or as presents.

any ideas on a price yet?

Since the C-store isn't working in PTS, no idea.
Now you just talk to the Mechanic, click the Mark2 Vehicle in his Store and }PUFF!{, it appears magically in your Bag.

We will know when they put it on live where it will be too late to discuss a price.

What does upgrading a Mk 1 vehicle to Mk 2 do for it?

Does a vehicle upgraded to Mk 2 get the 10% bonus? Getting the 4-5 slot zen vehicles I picked up to a usable 7 will be nice, getting the bonus would be really nice.

What if they already have 7 slots (like Fire Ants)? Do they get an 8th?

No, the z shop one's don't get the 10%, they just get buffed slots, etc.

And the 10%ers all become 8 slot.

As long as they price it right it sounds like a decent comprise to keep the lockbox/drifter ships a tad better than the Z-store ones while making those actually useful.

It would have been nice if the Z-store ones weren't 4-5 slotters without a bonus in the first place.

If they hit the right price point I'll be buying a few upgrades.

To be honest, i'm not really fond of this idea. Rather than getting new models to customize, or actual power sets and such, they're resorting to something STO has been doing, which isn't very popular of an idea. I don't really like having to shell out more money for a slightly better version of something i've already paid real money for. Considering all the things we are paying for, it doesn't seem like we're getting as much development as we should be.

Cryptic knows what the players and fans want, yet it just refuses to do anything but add grind missions here and there, and another thing to spend money on that isn't really worth it. I just... I can't support that kind of mentality, not in business, not in gaming, and honestly not in people. It's just terrible that this company has gone from doing a lot of interesting things to being a quick cash-in, and this game has done nothing but suffered for it, with STO not far behind.

    Agreed, cannot stress this enough.
