I've avoided taking the advantage Reanimator since it seems that the power can no longer be used to revive other heroes. Is that the case? Or does "Taking this advantage replaces the original functionality of the power" just mean that it only does one or the other per activation?

New effects for old powers

More EXP for Adventure Packs please.

According to Bluhman's guide to powers, that advantage does indeed remove the ability to revive other heroes.

The advantage does change the power itself. Removing the ability to revive allies and replaces it with the ability to "revive" enemies as zombie pets.

Would be nice if it summoned something closer to the thing you were reviving in usefulness. Brickbuster or Destroid would be pretty nice and useful.
