This idea is entirely to configure a build to theme, And would have no actual effect on gameplay.
I was thinking it would be cool if we could change the icon image and tooltip display name of different powers so that they would at least appear as though they fit into a theme. I.E Changing the icon of Conviction to say Medical Nanites icon, and rename it so the tooltip reads it as "Reconstruct" *one example*. It would still be Conviction, and would even be labeled as conviction under the combat tabs. ("Your Conviction heals you for ____")
Ok punchy, Your suggestion is...well, kinda pointless as the only person that can see your UI is you.
But if you could edit the buff/de-buff icons/names that pop up under you and your targets health (by default anyway) then it'd be slightly more useful.....if not a technical pain in the **** to get working correctly.
In all things, a calm heart must prevail.

Yeah some things are broken... no I don't use/abuse them.. where would be the fun in that?
The point of having universally recognizable buffs on characters is to see what effects they are going under. What you are suggesting is useless customization. The name of a power and the look of an icon shouldn't be a worry.
Any power can realistically be referred to as technological, mystical or superhuman despite what tree it came from.
However, being allowed to change a visual effect would be more promising. Such as changing Conviction to look like healing nanites. Choosing base power effects then the visual. Basically what I thought CO was going to be from the start.

You're not the only one... theres an article in an issue of Game Informer about CO pre-launch that even talked about this functionality... I wonder what happened and why it didn't make it into the game... it was a very promising feature, and quite honestly, just what a superhero game needed.

WHY?
Nobody but you can see your UI. So what benefit would there be to this, to outweigh what seems to be only something that would bloat the game code.
Just pretend on your own that your powers are different things.
Which isn't allowed ofcourse.
And playing by myself since Aug 2009
