Energy Shield with Adv. + Tank Role

Hi everyone,

I had a quick question regarding the energy return you get from blocking in Tank role with regards to the Energy Shield Advantage Phalanx Defense System.

I am trying to make a Ranged Power Armor Tank (running in Tank role) and even taking the best advantages she has some energy issues. Of course this is just in testing mode on the PTS with Nemesis Primary gear slotted, so when properly outfitted it will be a bit different.

She tends to run out of energy pretty fast compared to my other Power Armor ranged role builds. She fills up her Endurance pool really quick when you stop attacking and block of course, but with the advantage on the block do you get any energy return from it's 2 sec damage reduction buff when it activates during attacks?

The combat window doesn't show energy return from blocking, which on a full block gives 270% damage reduction. Does anyone know if there is any energy return when the advantage is activated?

Here is her beta build on PTS. Any thoughts on making her better would also be appreciated.

Thanks

    Level 17: Overdrive

According to Mecha Teddy's Attribute and Passive Scaling Thread, Overdrive gives:
    • Power: Overdrive (+0.041 Energy every 3 seconds for 15 seconds per stack per point of recovery.)
    • Power: Overdrive (+0.0088 Energy every 3 seconds for 15 seconds per stack per point of intelligence or endurance, scaling with the higher attribute.)

So the return is almost 5 times as high off Recovery as it is from Int or End, and Int and End don't stack. Maybe trying changing one of your superstats to Rec?

You aren't blocking when the advantage activates, so I'm pretty sure there will be no energy return.

I generally go with PSS REC & SSS INT and get an extra 15 END from Talents. Combined with Overdrive I can keep two toggles up all the time while spamming my hand slot power (fully charged). Since Concentration scales with INT, you can SSS CON and still get a decent damage boost (or SSS EGO for even more damage if you use PFF).

And yeah, Phalanx Defense System is a resist buff, but it's not a block so no energy return.

For lingering energy returns use Force Shield with advantage. If you are a Tank you will get back energy pretty quickly, even with just a tap of block in between attacks.

I think the energy return now scales off REC as all blocking.
