I tried it approximately 8 times with PUG's and succeeded twice. And you know what, I'm perfectly Ok with that... these were PUG's for chrissakes.. so you can expect some randomness. I suspect doing this with a pre-made team will yield much better results. As far as the trinity thing goes, I just think players in this game have forgotten how to play on a team. Which isn't a good thing for MMO. I don't really mind people asking for healers or tanking players to help them do well in the rampage. It's not really that big a deal. I don't honestly need to win every time I play a game. I like the the idea of risk, it's exciting.
You look at it as whining I look at it as trying to give constructive criticism as to WHY I'm annoyed and frustrated with this. You'd make a horrible customer service rep.
Your just condescending, a snide jerk throwing insults at me, and nothing more, I am asking you to stop.
There is a difference between whining and constructive criticism. Constructive criticism is given without the complaining and the parts about last straws and all that. When you complain and thow in last straws, thats whining.
Now. As far as fire and ice goes for me, it works fine if the groups work together appropriately. But of course out of 5 attempts made yesterday, I succeeded zero times. This is in part to not enough healers or everyone not paying attention to the living fire/ice. Give the rampage some time, people need to learn it to be able to become good at it.
I tried it 5 times last night. First three were PUGs that failed (first two epic fails due to nobody taking out the Living Ice/Fire). Last two times were a premade team from the Rampagers channel. We had one near success (failed because we didn't have the boss HP bars even and so the last boss standing took us out with the building enrage buff) and one success.
I'm fine with how I did. I'm glad to see some challenging content. I'm glad to see that it's not a guaranteed success.
I have only tried it once so far. It was with my Soldier AT in a PuG. We wiped once due to a mis-communication and then 2nd try went smoothly. Whether or not we won or wipe a hundred times, I loved this rampage. It was challenging, not to a point where it's impossible but it's doable. Keep up the good work CN. I look forward to trying this again.
Tanks and healers are nice to have, certainly make the fight easier. But not needed; already been proven.
Btw Gradii, in that group we invited you to, you didn't die at all, and I died twice.... so why are you poo-pooing the alert and I'm not?:rolleyes::rolleyes:
I played in a premade group five times today. We won all five times. One time was iffy, and required a lot of rezzing and healing. The other four times were as easy as any standard Gravitar run.
If you have a premade group, and you talk about who is doing what for a few minutes, Fire and Ice is pretty easy.
Seriously, you shouldn't be needing to hope that there's a resurrectioner in one of these events to keep things going. Getting my butt handed to me with my highest defense character within five seconds seems like a practice in masochism rather than the superhero feel that we're supposed to be getting from the game. I didn't get any sort of chance for my Defiance to build, and from what I'm reading about the power levels of the attacks, it doesn't look like it much matters if you even block.
I really dislike when games start to publish 'for the npc and for the pc' rules. Villians are allowed to have a million+ hit points, approximately 10,000x most of my characters at a minimum, to make up for a lack of imagination in battle and being outnumbered - fine. I get that. But when you start throwing attacks at the party like they're meant to hit that villain, you blow away the feeling you're supposed to foster with this game. We're supposed to be a superheroes, not hit point bags! I can go be a hit point sponge in any game online.
I don't know if the programmers are only gauging against the .001% of players who have all of the very best gear in the game and know how to min-max everything, but you seriously need to allow people who don't take constitution as a primary stat and Invulnerability a bleeping chance to step up in these!
its hard no matter how much you prepare. without a holy trinity team that is. and that's a real real shame.
It's hard? And? It's a Rampage. It's not supposed to be easy-mode. And this "Trinity OMG Trinity" stuff is cute but this is CO where YOU can be the Trinity all by your lonesome...and so can everyone else if they so choose to be. The labels are just a means for people to better strategize and offer up their assistance to a group dynamic. I have "healers" who can DPS. I have "Tanks" that heal, dps, and mitigate damage well. I play concept and I do not suffer for it. I suspect I am not the only one from reading this thread and others like it.
this rampage practically forces you to have the first two on your team. its broken as hell considering what CO used to represent to many people- a game where you could be the hero you want to be, not the hero your "friends" think you should be.
No, people have proven that diversity is applicable in this alert. It's broken in the aspect of the contribution numbers but that's a known bug. CO used to represent "Captain All Blocks and EBs" being able to steamroll everything...now thought and reaction are required. I've run this with Infernals, Munis, Elec/Wind Storm, and Earth....with wins. Sure, I don't win everytime...but what's the fun in that? Rise to the challenge. Make "The Hero You Want To Be" a "HERO."

You're absolutely right. You should be needing to hope you packed your own self-rez items. You can get them for SCR from the recog vendors. You can get Triumphant recoveries for leveling a toon.
I don't know if the programmers are only gauging against the .001% of players who show up to PTS to test things, but you seriously allow people who use heroic gear, R5-7 Mods, and use any passive they like a bleeping chance to step up in these! Good thing you did this already.
Ok, did some red editing there to fix those for ya.
The Devs aren't getting proper feedback, mainly because PTS is limited to only so many players.
When things go live, it all goes to whack because only a small percentage of people can test it initially. Then, like I say 'it all goes wrong when it goes live'. And here we are.
The Devs need to REALLY consider using that UNTIL field report to get feedback from things like this, and then adjust their efforts.
Also worth mentioning is that some of this was kinda "damaged in transit" to be honest. It did work better in certain aspects on PTS before it's move to Live.

My super cool CC build and how to use it.

Whoever you are, be that person one hundred percent. Don't compromise on your identity.
