Crits without Severity worth it?

Hey guys! ^.^

I'm almost done leveling my 3rd fairy, and will soon start a new fairy!

With Disney's Frozen soon coming out, I'm thinking of making my new fairy Ice theme, the Glacier. Accordingto my research (omg, a Tecna moment ^.^) the Glacier has CON/Guardian/Protector specs, which means it won't have super high crit sev, even with Legion's Severity. My SG mate gave me a few Legion's Precision, which I plan to use.

So, will 35% or so crit chance paired with 60% severity be worth it? Number crunchers, please chime in!

I'm of the opinion that it's worth it. Extra damage is extra damage.

Plus, the Glacier isn't an AT that focuses on crits. Not saying you should ignore them, but it's strength is in defense and CC.

I'm not a guy that gets into the powerhouse and checks a hundred different things to see what is what, but a crit hit is still a big damage boost, even at the base 50% severity.

35% crit chance with 60% severity is essentially +21% real damage. That is a pretty significant boost IMO.

    Hey guys! ^.^

I feel you guys might be like "duh!" lol.

Just out of curiosity, if I wasn't going for the crits, then what else is good? I heard Offense stacking is extremely terrible, and from the pts threads, it seems even the changes won't make offense good either(?) The Glacier doesn't use heals, so +Healing stuff is a no-no. Hmm...

    Thanks guys! ^.^

To be honest I would hold off on making a final decision until the stuff on PTS is closer to realization....but more damage (crits) is never a bad thing.

The glacier gets to heal itself every time it crits from a specialisation in its con tree. This is especially useful to heal back the small ticks of damage that gets through it's invulnerability passive. So, when you finally get avalanche at level 40, a nice aoe with addition severity, you can generate a good deal of threat while healing yourself at the same time.
