1: If I'm using ranged attacks (and therefore not getting the Dodge bonus), do I still suffer the 10% damage penalty, or does that only apply when I'm making melee attacks?

2: Does the knockback protection scale with anything, and if so, what and how much?

1 - Only applies when you make a melee attack. Will not apply if you are using ranged attacks.

    2 - Scales with nothing.

EDIT: Knock Resistance seems to be a static value.

No % change from having 85 Dex and 297 Dex.

Static Value is 33% KB resist.

It procs only on melee attacks incl lunges.

The knock res. does not scale.

It's a great source of avoidance.

    Thanks guys.

I was wondering because the build I'm planning on retconning into will probably use Lead Tempest, but since I won't be building up any Ego, and my Form and Passive will be melee ones, AND I'll probably be using BCR, I don't really want to penalize LT's damage any more than I need to.

And as you may have noticed from one of my earlier posts, I hate getting knocked back, so I wanted to ramp up the KB protection, if it was possible.

If you hate getting Knocked and you're using root-attacks (like Lead Tempest) anyway, you might give Circle of Primal Dominion a look. Elusive Monk only lasts like 2 seconds or s after you fire a melee attack, so it'd be hard to benefit from it during long charges/maintains (like Lead Tempest).
