I have an idea for a mind-focused character (literally, just a floating brain in a robot suit), and while I know what I want - Telepathy/Telekinesis powers, decent survivability and self-healing, with a good mix of AOE and single-target output, basically like if the Mind borrowed its playstyle from the Void - I don't know much of anything about freeform-ing or enough about individual powers to build stuff on my own past concept. I do know I'm not too fond of AOPM's funky runic glow, so I'd like to avoid that if possible. AORP's okay, though. Haven't seen much how other passives' "glows" look, so I can't judge that yet.

Can someone lend a hand?

    This build provides high damage and decent survival. If you utilize defensive synergies such as TK Reinforcement + Conviction + TK Eruption's damage buff/defense boost, you'll have good defense and ability to survive.

    Derived from my Psion The Psinister Build, he is mainly a damage happy Telekinetic, likes to throw people around.

    If you want more Telepathy then I would say swap out TK Wave for Summon Nightmare rank 2 + Night Terror Advantage if you want psychokinetic pets for extra damage purposes alongside Ego Sprites.

    The reason I did not add Slave Mentality is because it is frankly a horrible advantage. With this build nothing will be standing longer than 10 seconds (in the main) for you to gain low powered healing from (which cannot crit heal), in comparison to Convic + BCR which will heal you a lot faster.

    This will also aid any down time you -may- have due to energy issues, (this should be relatively minor if you keep TK Assault and Ego Reverb Unlock).

    This build is more Telekinetic Based as that is where your damage will mainly come from for Mentalist Powers.

    Since you don't seem to want to go for Crowd Control Mechanics, the best damage lies within Telekinesis normally.

    NOTE:

    - TK Lance will be your heavy hitter, everything in your build whilst powerful in it's own right will aid in building Ego Leech stacks. This can be detonated via TK Lance, which hits twice and can crit.

    - TK Wave's Psychic Tides has no PvE application and relatively limited PvP application (since energy management for most is good in PvP), which is why I didn't go for it.

    - Incisive Wit Advantage on Kinetic Darts grants +33 EGO and 42% increase to Paranormal Damage (which includes EGO damage) and can be used in conjunction with Ego Surge Active Offensive for staggeringly powerful results with all powers, especially TK Lance and Wave. It will be also buffing your main super stat so this will increase all damage from powers and passive and defense from passive. Then you put it with TK Reinforcement + TK Eruption's defense boosts and voila, stacking defense!

    Swapping END for PRE would give you a scaling stat for AoRP's team aura, Compassion, and Telepathic Reverberation.

    Telekinetic Assault is a bit redundant with Ego Blast. You could consider swapping Telekinetic Assault for Telekinetic Burst, to give yourself an AoE setup for Telepathic Reverberation (charged TK Burst --> Ego Sprites) when Ego Storm is on cooldown. Ego Sleep is another option, though it also carries a recharge timer.

    I would dedicate one of the spec trees to Sentinel, so Sentinel Aura auto-triggers Compassion during combat.

    Have a look at the build I posted above.

    Get rid of END as your Secondary Super Stat. It serves no purpose.

    Also TK Assault is redundant especially when Ego Blast + Mind Opener + Rank 2 will be your main damage for single target, as you have TP Reverb which boost dmg by 30%. So remove that power.

    Ego Hold isn't going to be doing much for you, Swap it out for Ego Sleep. It is an AoE which when mixed with Ego Sprites will grant you energy coupled with TP Reverb.

    PRE - No point what so ever having this build without it. Compassion scales on it and REC, since you have no REC. PRE is your choice here. And TP Reverb scales with PRE...so it is extremely important in this build. It will also boost your CC effects such as Ego Sleep when you replace Ego Hold.

    I would retool the build in the following way. This build is good for survival and support (like The Mind), and needs to run in Hybrid role to get more damage (like the Void).


    Really you need PRE since compassion, telepathic reverberation, heals and AoRP scale with it.

    As suggested if you take Compassion you should take the Sentinel tree (the aura gives 8 stacks ASAP). The Sentinel tree also grants a very good mastery at lvl.40.

    I retooled the Talents to grant you some energy (points in Rec/End).

    The last powers were redundant, better to have an Active offense and an active defense at hand.

    Also...a few notes:

    - You have two flight travel powers. Are you aware this is the case?

    - Compassion is a form, you do not need to rank it. With Sentinel Aura and BCR you will be passively stacking it. Stacks will also be gained from Empathic Healing.

    - Ego Storm Rank 2 + MM = Drop and run hold, so you are not needlessly locked down for the maintain (although this means the power cannot crit). I prefer mobility and survival over being locked down. Which is why I didn't go rank 3.

    If you want to be a more damage orientated version of Mind AT, you may want Concentration instead and if this is the case, you can go with my previously posted TK Build.

    If you are trying to be more supportive, you may want to consider going PRE Primary and putting TK burst in there for tap spam purposes for the application of Disorient + Ego Sprites = TP Reverb energy which scales on PRE.

    PRE Primary will also make the scaling of Compassion better, resulting in higher healing values.

    Yeah. Like the Telepathy power, I chose that for flavor's sake - the Jet power is for in the armor, the fire-flight is for out of it, as a sort of lifted-by-their-own-power effect.
