Extreme masochism. Dr.Sage shared the same mindset in a particularily encouraging manner.

Two months ey? ...well shoot, looks like I'm about 6months behind on that... or ahead? Don't worry, I went through my fotm obsessed phase...about half a year ago. Strafing run, ebon ruin,2gun mojo... all dat. You know what happened? Exactly what you would expect... I started getting kills, winning bash, winning duels, all that fancy garbage. Then I got so bored with the game because of it that I couldn't bring myself to play for several months.

That's right, I started winning, and that made the game boring. Not in a "there's no real competition" way either...I'm no samurai walking off into the sunset lamenting at being the greatest swordsman in the land. The main problem was the builds... they were fotm builds... fotm builds are boring to me. I'm not that person apparently. Turns out I can be bored even if I am winning... so yeah, that whole thing happened, and I'm glad it happened because it taught me something very important about myself.

Cut to modern day. I get spawn camped, and the only ones not crying about it are me and the person doing the camping. What a world!

And as far as the quarry character, I've had it all along. It turns out that it doesn't take any level of experience or even thought to throw together the "correct" powers into a build. And yeah, I do a lot "better" on that character than my squishy PA character. More wins and all dat.

For some reason, I still enter bash on my squishy PA character though... dunno why, any ideas?

Probably because you couldn't win enough. Have it your way, be great, brave and easymode us only when u want to.

Ya... I needed to win more, so I go in on my PA character... you have discovered my secret... don't copy plz! o.o

...now when you say that I easymode you...are you now claiming that I am somehow unfairly beating you? >.> you take any more angles on this conversation and you're gonna have enough polygons to make photorealistic boobies :D

also... great? not sure where you're getting that from...

Brave? ...its just a video game... and not Dark Souls :o

Take off the ego goggles, you're reading things that aren't there :3

The way I keep modding bethesda games until they're frustratingly difficult would indicate that you are on to something here.

My point is that even with the fotm, you did not win enough, so inevitably u stopped PvPin' seriously. It's not a bad thing. It is expected.

And as I said, if mt hypothesis here is wrong, and u were an awesomepro winner using the fotm, then you should be able to change back to it and easymode us to death.

    Moddin' Bethesda games? Nice,me too.

How much is "win enough"? Are you the type who can only have fun if they're "winning enough"? :3

What is the value of winning in CO? :o

    Important questions ^_^

He is saying that even when you changed to the FOTM build you didn't win any fights other than against random people who have no idea and have nothing even close to the FOTM also people who have never pvp'd.

The value of winning in CO is to dominate that tiny community, it always has been. Hey, it is a super hero game after all. It's all about being the best and the strongest super hero and then showing off to your millions (tens probably less) of fans by posting videos and boasting.

By win enough he means win enough to be included in the list of people who have a clue what they are doing in pvp. This list isn't exactly a set list but the community is at such a small size that if you are any good then people would have heard of you.

    Was I helpful? Ka ka!

Ah, so it's all about ego then? That explains why I have no idea what either of you are talking about :3 Yes, you were helpful

But... i have another question... why would anyone care about being included on that list? o.o

The entire point is it gives people something to strive towards. It's almost like RP if you will, many pvp'ers on many different games see it as a sport as do I at times and so does a few others in champions PvP. When you play a sport do you just sit back and let others beat you? No, you take the fight to them and do everything you can to go for gold. The champions community may be small but it's no different to playing in a small tournament that no one knows about other than the people involved, are you telling me you are fine with being last place?

It's obvious you don't find sport and competitiveness fun so I see why you don't care but just widen your view on CO PvP, it's not like everyone is gone from it yet. There are still the same old enemy's, friends, allies and rivals who are still competitive to be better than the rest.

It's a super hero game, ego is always going to come into it.

I do see it as a sport tho. I don't see why that means that I have to care about other people acknowledging something. After all, do professional athletes compete so other athletes will think they are cool, or do they compete to win? I think it's the second one, and that is the mindset I subscribe to. I'm not in there to make anyone think I'm pro, I'm just in there to have fun and try to win. I will admit that there have been a few times that I basically just floated over to someone and laughed as they one shotted me... but hey, with a squishy build in this meta, it's hard to tell the difference xD

That's why, even as Eve was skillfully spawn camping me, I continued to try to take her down... and in the end even managed to do it a few times. If I was there for ego, I would probably have just cried about it or rage quit. Instead, I took it for what it was and kept playing.

Does anyone else still think about games that way, or is it really just a bunch of guys desperately hoping someone will tell them how good they are? O_o

By the way, if you want to know why I build the way I do, your best bet is to stop trying to figure it out for yourself and just ask me... cause I think you have a lot of bad references on that particular subject :P

Well, fine have it your way spinny, I guess we all cared too much for nothing.

On a side note, how much int and perception mods/secondaries does it take to see through basic stealth moves like EM?

Why are you asking me? I thought I wasn't on the list of people who know their stuff? .-.

On your side note it is 200 int with a secondary and 1 perc core or 300 int with a secondary and no core. I think that's correct anyway. ;)

Let's all play BASH peacefully and ask for rewards from PvP!

    Not asking you, sry.

Thanks imp, would 2 perception cores in a gear do anything helpful by themselves?

(not asking you spinny, but if you can help, pls, answer.)

Uh, I have no idea. I suppose you could maybe fall down on int but I don't think you would be able to get stealth sight by not having int SSS with just AOPM. You'd be much better off just getting int SSS with AOPM and one perception core that way you can get away with having exactly 200 int and have stealth sight still. I think malware's is at around 204 int and that seems to work perfectly fine.

I use to have to use over 300 int with a perc core and perc utility slot item because I couldn't get enough G to buy the secondary.

Just saying, that is something they could add to the store for pvp if they wont change acclaim to questionite. It would be really useful to sell the a perception secondary, a 5% health increase and 5% severity secondary because they can be useful in specific builds.

See I do come up with some good ideas if you have patience! ;D Ka ka!
